41mi from Nancy Lake Canoe Trail Campground · 3 sites · Tents, RVs🌿 Welcome to Playful Arts Camp: Tiny House Sanctuary!
Nestled on just over an acre of wild land on the edge of Anchorage in the Chugach Mountains, this peaceful retreat offers a blend of wilderness and creativity. The property is within walking distance—or a short drive—from the Chugach National Forest, part of the second-largest national forest in the United States, known for its breathtaking shorelines, glaciers, forests, and rivers.
Your adventure begins down a narrow, winding driveway best suited for vans or Class B RVs under 20 feet. You’ll park near a cozy tiny house surrounded by natural beauty and the sounds of Alaska’s wildlife. There are no hookups or showers. An outhouse is available for campers, and a small stream runs most of the summer. You may also have access to a hand-pump well, though the water has a high iron content.
Depending on your arrival time, you’ll have a couple of parking options. The easiest is to pull just past the tiny house and park near the garden area. Multi-day stays are welcome.
Your host spent 20 years working as a river and wilderness guide, leading guests through some of Alaska’s most remote and beautiful places. When available, he enjoys sharing stories, music, and local travel tips on the porch.
Today, he teaches music—guitar, banjo, mandolin, and ukulele—and offers Feldenkrais classes and sessions at his Anchorage studio, Playful Arts. This work is rooted in a vision of healing, wellness, and human connection.
RV parking and camping are offered as a way to meet travelers on their Alaskan journeys and to share this special piece of wild land with kindred spirits.
