Here at Little Bear Cabins 30 minutes from Talkeetna, Alaska and Willow youll find a working off grid homestead with privacy and nature everywhere. Offering guided Alaskan plant walks and more! Private cabins with a wandering creek to explore with kayaks or skis as well as bikes all included ! Late fall its filled with salmon and trout. World class fly fishing all around you! Winter time the Northern lights will dance over you! With many trails to wander along and a bridge to view or swim. Summer or winter .. The birds here are like no other located in the migrating route of the predatory birds. You'll find nests all along the creek of rare birds.. Each cabin is private and has a firepit fridge and potable water provided . There are groomed ski trails and walking trails for guests with kayaks and bike to use during your stay .I offer guided walks of the garden and In the forest to learn about the edible and medicinal plants of Alaska. You will find stillness and nature all around you..

Tent sights available upon request only :) A peaceful atmosphere to relax and enjoy Alaska's Northern Susitna by a camp fire and a short 30 minutes to Talkeetna for just about anything from dancing, live music to helicopter tours, Denali sight seeing, rafting, fishing, climbing, sled dog tours, arts and more!! We are nestled in the Boreal forest with Caswell creek running right through the property. A very special spot for birds 🦢 and viewing salmon spawn. You'll find World class flying fishing 5 -10 minutes away ! Kayaks and bikes ,and skis come with cabin! Trails right out the door. Alaskas best rivers are all around us ! One mile up the road is Caswell lake for swimming and fishing! I offer several experiences as well. *Guided Plant walk on Alaskas medicinal and edible plants . Please message to schedule a time . If you are staying only one night I prefer to schedule on arrival day .

Northernlights, Groomed ski trails out the door !Talkeetna less than 30 minutes away and northernlights in the sky! I provide skis , bikes and kayaks to use during your stay. This is an experience to reset away from the busy day events ... I love to share my ways and offer guided walks as well.. This is a private cabin of two available on my homestead.. It's a dry cabin with no power. It does have a heater with thermostat and fridge with one burner. I provide the water as well.. We do except ONE small medium size dog 🐶. No puppies though🙃

The property is beautiful and for a smaller group in different circumstances the cabin would have been comfortable. However, we had a very hard stay and in fact left after only one night. There apparently was a mosquito hatching a couple days before we arrived…which happens multiple times every summer. I was traveling with a family of 5 and given the bathroom is outside, there was really no way to avoid getting dozens if not hundreds of mosquitoes inside. Many of them may have been there before we arrived. I conservatively estimate we killed 75 mosquitoes during the night, and didn’t seem to make much of a dent. We may have managed if we had been able to sleep under blankets, but there’s only one small screened window in the lower level, and one in the upper level, so there’s no way to get a cross breeze. Consequently, it was HOT, and we couldn’t hide underneath blankets. Also, there are no curtains, so during the summer it gets light very early. Which wasn’t a problem for us because none of us slept and everyone wanted to leave ASAP.

Shelley’s space was just perfectly charming. Such artful attention to detail. Lovely trails around the property to feel fully immersed in the environment. The mosquito net In the cabin was a perfectly romantic AND practical touch.

Amazing little cabin!

Our family really enjoyed this cabin as the first stop on our Alaska adventure! It’s close (enough) to Talkeetna and hikes, but super quiet and remote feeling. Despite being off the grid and small, it had everything we needed. I like to save money in trips, so having the fridge and burner to cook some simple things was great. We did have to be super vigilant about keeping mosquitoes out and killing any that got in. Our only wish was that the beds in the loft would have had mosquito nets. We regretted not putting bug spray on the kids before bed! But we loved having the kayaks available to use and my girls loved the puppy, George! Shelley was so quick to respond and very friendly/informative, while also giving space & privacy. I’d love to come experience it in the winter!

The cabin was cute and sufficient. I have a cabin so used to cabin living. I can see where winter use of cabin would be wonderful. We only walked down to creek so didn’t do a lot in our short visit. I would recommend it

The cabin was spacious, with a nice layout allowing each bed a sense of privacy, and very comfortable. We appreciated the included use of kayaks to poke around the creek/slough. Shelley was a wonderful host, greeting us on arrival and offering local wisdom about good fishing spots as well as dining spots. A lovely stay!

We stayed at Little Bear Cabin for a night it was great! The cabin had everything we needed and was very peaceful! Shelley was also very friendly, helpful, and quick to respond!
