Weekend Trip to Buffalo Springs Campsite

Quaint, simple, quiet spot with electrical power and portable toilet. Our dog loved running free and exploring nearby. A little hard to find but worth the effort. Best features are view and closeness to Driggs.

1 night at Ranchita Corazon of the Tetons

What an awesome spot! Joy is a phenomenal host—communicative, welcoming, and has great energy. A little rain and cloud did little to dampen the experience, which was highlighted by a nice long sweat in the sauna (a MUST) and a brief but invigorating dip in the cold plunge. Shoutout to a couple of friendly four legged friends, who I also had the great fortune to meet. While I didn’t get to experience the epic sunrise over the Tetons due to an early departure, this was easily remedied by a quick journey back over the pass to the national park (another must!). This was my first, but certainly not my last stay!!

Alicia’s spot was perfect. We arrived pretty late as we were driving from across the state, and left in the middle of the night as well one night for some photo stuff. She didn’t mind either time, and the entire spot was so quiet and peaceful. It was close to their house, but the trees and how it was setup still gave us plenty of privacy through the duration of our stay and it was exactly as advertised

The location is beautiful. The ride up union pass is a well maintained dirt road, we got in late and had to drive it in the dark (would not recommend if you can avoid) but the road was wide enough to manage opposite direction vehicles. The spot was easy to find and get set up, the front to back leveling was a little step but side to side was good. Spot #2 still has line and neutral crossed so you'll need to use power from spot #1.

Had a lot of fun during our stay. It is a very beautiful area and the most dog friendly camp we have been to. Our dogs were able to play off leash in the field with all the local dogs. Was able to do a UTV rental out of season with just a couple days notice before our arrival. Tim had tons of trail recommendations and was a lot of fun to talk with.

Karen’s place was perfect for our overnight stay. The property is well tended, it quiet and the site felt private. I enjoyed her hand built twig fence along the back property line. Karen gave me a heads up regarding the trip over the pass to Jackson Hole- put your vehicle in low gear on the downward side.

Directions were easy to follow. There was about 5 miles or so of unpaved road up the mountain to the sites. The sites were all lined up, kind of close to each other. There was also the rental shop and a restaurant/bar in the same area. We didn’t try the restaurant but it was open. There was a really big field across the road that we were able to let the doggos run free, off leash.

The Longhorn is a lovely and very well-equipped RV park. The sites are not all lined up in a row and crammed in. Each one has its own breathing room. We are not normally RV Park guests, but we needed to take care of some business and this was the perfect place. The river that runs through it is a lovely river. We highly recommend this resort.

We pulled a camper trailer from Illinois to Union Pass campground and then stayed onsite for a few days. It was wonderful! Wildlife and beautiful vistas each day. We rented a side by side to trek around in the Shoshone National Park and absolutely loved it!

Very peaceful spot with easy access to Grand Teton NP! It was so fun to wake up to the sounds of chickens (once we went outside -we did not hear them from inside our camper!) Alicia was very responsive and communicative! If we're ever back that way we would definitely stay here again.

We had the absolute best view of Tetons from Robin's spot! Robin was the absolute best, most generous host checking up on ys during a storm and even providing a campfire one night! Having this view, electricity, water and solitude while very close to restaurants, GTNP is amazing!

The hosts were gracious when we parked in the wrong space and did not require that we move. The location was easy to find. The restrooms and showers were clean and close by. The nearby river was peaceful after a long drive. Our area was not crowded.

Located near the Shoshone National Forrest, our RV sites have a beautiful view of the mountains. Our grass Rv sites have Electric pedestals and Water hookups. Wifi at campsite. We are near warm springs creek and mountain lakes for fishing opportunities. Hundreds of areas to hike. This small mountain area has a restaurant/bar nearby also. Ride the hundreds of miles of ORV trails (ATV, UTV, dirtbike). Porta-Potty onsite, as well as one weekly black tank service. Tent, van, or campers welcome. We are bordering the Shoshone National Forrest with amazing views. Our sites are as close to federal land as you can get, with electric and water hook ups. The Teton View Tent is located in Tetonia, Idaho and has breath taking view of the Tetons. 45minute drive to Rexburg, Idaho 1 hour drive to Jackson Hole, Wyoming 1.5 hours to West Yellowstone, Montana Inside the tent there is a comfortable king size bed, a mini couch that turns into a pullout sleeping mat that can fit two small children. There are also two sleeping mats that can be used but are short in length so fit a child best. The table seats 4 to play games or work at. The Shoshone and Nez Perce Native American tribes spent their summers in this area hunting and fishing the many streams in this valley. Trapper's used the area until the U.S. market collapse of the beaver skin top-hat in the late 1830's. Mormon pioneers began settling here in the 1890's. My great-grandparents settled in Teton Valley after moving from Nebraska in 1917. They farmed this land; growing potatoes, barley and hay. Today we raise alfalfa/grass hay that we feed to our horses. In the bottom of our field south of the campsite is Trail Creek, which is the headwaters of the Teton River. It flows out of the southern Teton mountain range in Wyoming and into Idaho. This water eventually joins the mighty Snake River near Rexburg, Idaho as it continues it's journey to the pacific ocean. Summer's here are usually warm sunny days with cool, chilly nights. Middle Piney Lake Campground

Sign says there are 7 sites, but only 5 of them are marked, so I guess the rest of the area is up for grabs, not really sure. There are tables, fire pits and a vault toilet. It's a popular day use area for the lake and the trailhead to Wyoming Peak so it can be busy by day. There is no host on site, so expect ATVs, chainsaws and music being played without any consideration to how much noise is being made.

Sacajawea Campground

$7! There are a lot of free dispersed sites in this area, including Free Middle Piney at the lake, but this is a nice campground. Probably can't fit a ton of big rigs, and we mostly saw huge trailers in the free spots. Even on Labor Day weekend there were open spots. Quiet, host on site.
