Also known as the Hershey Homestead, our property is home to what we like to call the funny farm. We have lots of kids and all of them are involved in 4h so that means we have lots of animals. Chickens, ducks, geese, peacocks, goats, sheep, pigs, beef, and horses each have a home here as well as dogs and cats. It's rarely quiet but the chorus of sounds you hear can be an interesting mix of the mating calls of the peacocks to the mooing of the cows to the howls of coyotes at night. (And maybe some of our seven kids playing outside ). As a camper on our property, you are welcome to explore the homestead at your leisure and take in the sights and smells of the farm. We also have several ponds that bring in an array of wildlife that can be great for bird watching or maybe even catching a few bluegills. We have a new couple of bald eagles that built a nest in a towering white pine along the shore of the big pond, providing opportunities for eagle sightings and photography. There are multiple trails throughout the property available for hiking as well We are a 1/4 mile from the lake of Shell Lake which has one of the nicest public beaches in northern WI and there are lots of eating and shopping options within a short distance in all directions. We like to say that we live in the country with the convenience of city amenities only a hop skip and a jump away.

We are renting out our gorgeous river property located on the Chippewa River in Exeland, WI!! Our 5-acre property is equipped with electricity and power pedestals for multiple RVs, lots of space for outdoor games, a campfire area surrounded by string lights, and newly-constructed steps down to the river. There is a deep swimming hole out in front of the property, great for fishing too, and a boat landing across the river for putting in kayaks and fishing boats. Right off our river bank, we have caught muskys, catfish, smallmouth bass, and northern. We have four kayaks and two paddleboards included with the rental and firewood. There is also direct ATV and UTV access from County Highway Rd D to multiple trails heading towards the Blue Hills and endless trails heading to the UP. In 2024, we added a new gravel camper parking area that can accommodate 4 campers (30-amp hookups each), as well as (2) 30-amp hookups in the grassy part of the site. First RV is included in the rental, each additional rig is $50.

Wow! What a magical place. I had an amazing time camping at Eagle Pines On The Bad River and spending a gorgeous exploring Deans land. He’s clearly put much time and care into building and maintaining the trails. The map, signs and ribbons were very helpful for navigating the area. It was an absolute delight and adventure hiking the trails and wandering around the three waterfalls. Dean was also an excellent host. He was incredibly accommodating, responded quickly to my messages and provided very detailed instructions and recommendations upon booking. I highly recommend these sites to anyone wanting a peaceful, somewhat rustic and secluded spot to stargaze, canoe/kayak, hike and commune with the land and water. I hope to visit again soon.

We had the greatest time camping at Bad River Wilderness! We stayed at Bad River Point. Dean was most accommodating and helpful. The campsites are very remote and short walks to the waterfalls. Gorgeous property! Extremely clean and well taken care of! We enjoyed hiking the beautiful paths! Walking on the railroad tracks. Exploring in the canoe was also fun! What a beautiful property! We loved camping in an oak grove in the fall time - golden and heavenly! The lake was beautiful, and even though it's the weather wasn't conducive to swimming, we thoroughly enjoyed reading on the dock. Loved our time at this spot! Beautiful camp with amazing giant pine trees and a great setting on the river. Definitely plan to return! The river was low at this time of the year, but still managed to get out on the canoe provided and that was a great surprise to have available. We even saw a pair of swans!

Although I arrived in the dark, I still found it fairly easy to navigate and find my campsite based on the directions Dean sent and the posted signs he made. I was impressed at how nice the campsite was -- it is clear that a lot of work was put in to haul in a lot of accommodations (chairs to sit on, smores sticks, lifejackets, canoes, food safety bins, etc) and create easy to navigate trails to the campsites and waterfall spots. This is a lovely place to just spend the night or have a long weekend getaway. Unique location right on the river and unique way to get there (crossing railroad tracks and hiking in). I found the location to be very quiet and secluded which I really enjoyed; it felt like I had backpacked quite far into the woods, not just walked a couple minutes from my parking spot. Highly recommend!

I had a nice stay on Dean's property. Not only was it quiet and along the river, but it was also a good jumping off spot to play tourist in the area. The ability to have the dog off-leash made us both happy. My pup had a great time in the woods, running and exploring. The sites are definitely walk-in. It's not a difficult or technical walk, but expect your standard rocks, roots, and wet leaves. A bit of up and down. More advanced beginner than totally flat. (I include this for those of us with knee issues.) I arrived at night (my fault for the late start) and had no issues getting to my site thanks to the thorough directions and the signage on the property. Overall, good time!

The campsite was magical! If you're looking for a beautiful place to really get off the beaten path, this is a great place to do it. The river was nice for a cooling swim on a hot day. Dean takes very good care of the property. I could occasionally hear voices off in the distance from other campers and their dogs, but I never saw another person in the day and night I spent there.

This was my father's favorite place to be in the summer. He loved watching the hummingbirds early in the season and the leaf turn in the fall. We hope you and your guests will enjoy staying here as much as our family has. Five acre private lakefront property surrounded by trees. Cement pad for your RV or trailer. 50-amp and full hookups. Bring your own converter if less than 30 amps. Large fire pit (supply your own firewood). Recently refurbished private dock. Four-wheel trails and rental companies nearby. Short drive from the Namekagon River which is great for tubing, kayaking, canoeing, and swimming. Due to a recent review, I am also adding here that swimming from our property is not ideal. The lake tends to be weedy during warm summers. There are places to swim nearby, so if you are booking with the sole intent of being able to swim, please be aware that this is likely not the best site for you unless you are willing to drive to a nearby beach.

Thank you to all who have enjoyed this amazing property and provided a review or rating!!! On the upper Bad River, I have a special location that I'd like to share for others to enjoy. I was fortunate to acquire this land 20 years ago and now that I have retired from the United States Air Force, I can dedicate time to create peaceful campsites along the river. This land was originally railroad property as the railroad companies bought much land in the late 1800's to have options to place their railroads. There is still a railroad track nearby but it has been abandoned since 2015 and it makes a nice hiking path along the river for many miles to the north. There are 3 waterfalls nearby and I will have many signs leading to the waterfalls. There are 4 total campsites on the property, 1 site you can drive to (Eagle Pines), and 3 tent sites that require 1/8 mile hike to 2 sites, and a 1/4 mile hike to the other hike-in site.

This little chunk of land is a place that offers peace, solitude and an unplugging from life's hectic pace. Our 9 acre wooded lot is a quiet, secluded, woodsy retreat perched above the beautiful Chippewa River. The shallow river is perfect for wading, tubing, paddling & fishing. The undergrowth is a carpet of ferns & native plants. Birders will love this spot. We also encourage bringing your dog friends. We have several fire rings and encourage responsible campfire hangouts. *Please do not bring firewood. We provide dry wood & dead fall may be used for campfire, but ABSOLUTELY NO CUTTING from live trees, please. TENT site: Tent site is pretty basic-- it fits one large tent (12'x15') pad and has a fire ring, a cooking grate and picnic table. While it does not have electricity, there is an outlet on the property to charge phones, etc. BATHROOM: Our well maintained outhouse is a short walk from the tent site, and stays stocked with TP. It also has a solar light for night-time visits. CAMPERS/VANS: We have 30 Amp electric hookup available for small campers! Bring your pop-up or pull-behind. Intermediate trailer-backing skills are necessary to reach the camper site. *We do not allow hunting, shooting or ATV riding on the property. Archery practice is Ok however. ** As we continue our A-Frame cabin build, you will see some construction clutter. We own a 39 acre property on the east side of Ashland, WI. There are three primitive/walk in (no water available, no facilities, no tables) campsites available and a couple of trails. More trails to come. Enjoy the night sky as many, many stars are visible. The property is mostly wooded and can be wet in spots during the spring. You are allowed walk the site off trail at your own risk. Please park your vehicle as close to one side of the driveway as possible as not to block the driveway so if needed the tower company has access to the tower. Please do not walk in the cleared area near the front of the property to the right of driveway/access road, as this area has been planted with Christmas tree saplings. There is a dedicated campfire square in the site. Please do not burn outside of this area. There is plenty of dead and down firewood to collect in the nearby woods – some may need to cut to size. There are no garbage cans on site, so please pack out what you pack in. Hike to the sites: Campsite 1 – Near County Highway A – just past gate. As spring breaks through, and the campsite opens, up we have new lambs arriving daily. Baby chicks are hurrying every which way, and the flowers start to emerge. It's a beautiful time of year to visit the farm and enjoy the new beginnings. As summer comes around, our new lambs move to a pasture that you can overlook from the campsite. The glamping site is located on the back side of our yard with a fruit orchard separating our main home from the site. The site has a queen bed, and also has room for an additional tent to be placed in the yard (which is relatively flat), or on the 12'x18' wooden deck. We are 15 minutes from Ashland & 30 minutes from Bayfield with numerous entertainment and dining options. 10 - 15 minutes from numerous beaches along Lake Superior's shore.

Nestled in the northwoods of Wisconsin, this Tiny home has the comforts of glamping while being off grid. On 5 acres of heavily wooded land, this property has a fire pit, picnic table and lake /dock access 100 yards away (2 min walk) Guests are welcome to 3 shared kayaks, paddle boat, paddle board and fishing boat. At 8 feet by 12 feet,this 96 square ft tiny house has a key pad door lock, and a big casement window, the kitchenette has a propane cooktop/oven. The sink has water pumped from a holding tank. The Tiny House has Solar power for lights and a usb port for phone charging. The futon style bed, slides out to form a full size bed, 2 pillows and bedding is supplied. The tiny wood stove is available in the fall and winter months. Solor powered A/C unit is available for summer months. The Little Lodge is located on a heavily wooded 5 acre property in Spooner Wisconsin. There are several nearby ATV trails , hiking trails and a quaint downtown. The lake that The Little Lodge is on is not a good swimming lake but there is a clear swimming lake less than 5 miles away. The fire pit has seating and the picnic table is a great spot to enjoy the scenery over breakfast. Please bring your own firewood. If you enjoy nature, wildlife, glamping, fishing, paddle boarding ,kayaking or paddle boating , this is your spot!
