If you are looking for quietude, this is your spot! Twenty acres situated minutes from lakes, rivers and US Forest Service land. Partly forested and partly pasture land, we boast Aspen, Fir, Spruce and Pine trees. Wildlife that commonly pass through include coyote, elk, deer and badger. Lots of bird life from woodpeckers and blue jays to eagles and owls. Fuel, groceries and river access available a short fifteen minute drive away. Lake access is only twenty minutes to the closest, Murphy Lake. Half a dozen other lakes within a thirty minute range. We have a campfire ring set up at your RV/Camp site and camp wood is available. You have fresh, potable water on site as well as electric hook-up. No RV dump available. We are pet friendly! SPECIAL NOTE FOR 2026: This Summer we are adding onto our host cabin. There may be construction noise (think compressed air nail gun, occasional equipment noise) during your stay, especially at the tent and RV campsites. 8AM-6PM, except Sunday. It will be less audible at The River Cabin. Our physical location is approximately 30 miles North of Bonners Ferry and 1 mile South of Eastport, ID. We are a mile South of the Canadian Border just off US 95. Our tent campsite and RV campsite have separate booking sites but share the same shelter and toilet. If you book either site the "other" booking site is blocked during your stay. Our Forest is surrounded by Kaniksu National Forest which is managed by the United States Forest Service (USFS) as part of the Idaho Panhandle. National Forest.. The Moyie River ( say Moy-yay) has headwaters at Moyie Lake in British Columbia and feeds into the Kootenai River (say Koo-ten-e) just East of Bonners Ferry. The Moyie River is 92 miles long. The area is private, so there is no view of the neighbors. You’ll have a broken view of the Host’s Cabin. Camp is situated on 15.4 acres of Certified Family Forest. If you hear the rumble of a train at night, it's because the Union Pacific passes along the opposite edge of the property from the campsites. There is no mobile phone service at the campsite . There is WiFi at the campsite shelter. We strongly suggest you activate the “Cell over WiFi “ function on your smartphone BEFORE you arrive/lose cell signal so you can access Emergency 911 Services. There is a fire pit (firewood provided), covered shelter, a USFS-style charcoal grill, (bring charcoal and starter), picnic table, benches, bear-proof food storage box and TEMPORARY trash bin. Please plan to "pack-out" all of your trash and recyclables. There are a lot of deer roaming the property, along with many birds and other wildlife . OUR NIGHTLY CHARGE Includes all the firewood you need and a 15% Hipcamp Host Service Fee. It does not include 6% Idaho Sales Tax and 2% Idaho Convention and Travel Tax. The single room has handcrafted custom everything from the queen sized bed to the built in counter. Outfitted with a blend of vintage treasures and thoughtfully sourced high quality pieces like the tiny wood stove with a glowing glass front and the organic linens inviting you in. This is a space for you to soak in nature and connect over the campfire, or across the board game by the light of candles. When the sky is clear you’ll be able to stargaze from bed and when you wake you’ll be greeted by ducks on the pond and a ceramic mug waiting for it’s French pressed coffee. Our winter visit to the Far North was excellent. The cabin was a perfect place to spend time together. We loved the selection of books available to visitors during our stay. It was great to have kitchen equipment and to use it easily. The fireplace kept us nice and cozy on snowy, cold days outside. The Views are stunning, with no one around but our family. It was ‘dry’ camping because of the late season, but that did not stop us from having quality time together. I love that Paul provides firewood. He was great at communication and make us so welcome at his property.

Weekend Trip to Cozy Mountain Bungalow

The cabin was great - it was a small shed converted into a cabin that had a single (full-sized? queen?) bed with a rocking chair, an armoir, and a small closet. The bathroom was an attached outhouse with sawdust to soak up waste and neutralize any smells. They provided a camping sink with 5 gallons of water, a camping gas stove, a citranella candle, and plates, bowls, and utensils. The cabin sits towards the middle of the driveway to the hosts' house and they have the friendliest dog. My son and I had a great time. Zero light pollution, no noise pollution, just fresh north Idaho air.

lots to explore in the upper pack river valley. Our experience with Mike as a host was fantastic, very accommodating. The cottage is very cozy and has many little extras stocked insids, flashlights right where you need them if your going out in the night, board games and cards, reading material, a book on the hiking trails in the area, cutlery and the shower works great. We highly recommend this getaway. This cottage would also be a great location to have close access to hunting in the area during the season as well.

The Hosts are so solid. People you want in your life. Kind, genuine. For me this is important and makes all the difference in this life and especially when sharing community. However, It wouldn’t really matter if you didn’t like them anyway, because in the whispering woods of their remote property, the cabin is on its own level. You’re all alone in the Magic of the hill top. Great place to reset, write, read. Or, Do absolutely nothing with your dog. Also a good jump off point to many trails and everything Panhandle. 20 minutes from Sandpoint. We came from Priest Lake and were headed to Glacier via the Swinging Bridge route on 2. Good pillows, comfortable bed, cast iron, games, telescope, wall of windows, yet so private. Only the soaring Eagles will see you. Doug brought me maps and books and Jessica brought me solutions for anything that came up along my way. Great communication. Reliable. Fair. Not for the Bougie. Unless you’re trying to come back to earth.

We absolutely loved this place. It was much nicer than we expected. The scenery was amazing. The set up and the new showers were really nice. We visited it while there was no one else there and all of the campground is separated from the cabin side. you feel really secluded there highly recommend this place and we will definitely go back again. The little store in good grief was nice and the people there were really nice. Some nice hikes are very close by all the communication was great with Paul. Our stay at Paul’s cabin was one of the best camping experiences we have had! The kids loved the playground and being right by the river. We were able to wade in and collect a few rocks. The river view is so beautiful. The table, swing, grill and fire pit is in the perfect location to enjoy the view. We made pocket stew! Everything needing to have a fun, safe, comfortable cabin camping experience was provided. Paul was away during our stay but was available for any questions via messaging. WIFI was spotty at the cabin but we wanted to unplug anyway. Updated shower house was relaxing after a long day. We definitely want to stay again and will highly recommend this place!

North Shore Campground

We truly enjoyed ourselves at The North Shore Campground. Stayed two nights. The amenties were on point and made it so easy to last minute plan a mini trip. We only needed food and clothes. We spent most of our days down at the river. The kids loved playing all day in the water. Floaties included. Great vibes! We will be back!!

North Dickey Lake Campground

Absolutely gorgeous lake! So stunning and great for kayakers and canoers. It’s right off the highway so you do get some car noise but not so much during the night. It’s $10 to camp/night. Overall very clean and organized campgrounds.

Bring your friends or a hiking buddy. There are 9 other lakes in this area and you’re going to want to see all of them, they all require some hiking and bear spray! But so worth the views! It’s $5 to camp/night.

Gem Peak Lookout Cabin

This is by far one of the coolest places I have stayed! Secluded on the top of Gem Peak, nothing beats the 360 degree view! Be prepared to climb many steps often, as the outhouse is located on the ground a ways away from the tower. Also, for the same purpose, don't forget headlamps and lanterns! The view of the night sky is unreal from the tower. I didn't want to leave! There are two separate single beds, table and chairs, and a counter space. Don't forget to sign the guestbook and to use the cleaning supplies to pick up after yourself for the next lucky person!
