The Copper Cabin is a completely self-contained off-grid hideaway situated just feet off the Montreal River in a pine and birch forest teaming with wildlife. Once you leave the road and the ATV/Snowmobile trail, you'll drive the two-track (or snowshoe) to the footbridge crossing the river and travelling by foot on up to the cabin in the woods.* This is a real wilderness destination that is not for everyone, but perfect for the adventurous spirit. Experience this comfy eco-friendly timber-framed abode complete with solar lighting, wood burning stove, convenient 12-volt refrigerator, indoor composting toilet, 12-volt entertainment center, water catchment/filter/dispenser system, antique gas cook top (sorry no oven) and more. Two large sleeping lofts have 1 queen bed, 1 double bed, and two futons. The space can accommodate up to 8 people and makes a restful getaway. It was okay
We had a wonderful stay at Copper cabin. The location is perfect for exploring the peninsula. The land is beautiful and the cabin is supplied with everything you’ll need for your stay. Linda and Darrell were out of town when we checked in and we had no service but everything went smoothly and we figured everything out no problem. Linda and Darrell were very responsive if we needed anything. Like I said, we had no service at the cabin, but as soon as we started driving south, it picked up very quickly. The only thing we wished was better was the cleanliness level of the cabin. I understand this is a remote off grid cabin, so I did not expect it to be perfect but the level of dog hair and dirt on the rug as well as dust on every surface and in the air made the week a little rough for me and my daughter who suffer from mild allergies. Most of the issue was the rug, I tried using the provided push vacuum for extended periods of time, but it did little to nothing. The couch coveres were quite stained so we covered them with sheets and we wiped everything down before using. We also took all the blankets we were going to use and washed them before using them just in case. The sheets are changed every time, but not the blankets so we just did it for a piece of mind which was totally our choice. I think if I had known the level of dog hair and dander, I probably wouldn’t have booked the copper cabin but after staying there and seeing how magical it was, we would definitely recommend staying here just plan on having to clean a little bit.Overall, it was a great experience.
