Unwind on a working alpaca farm with stunning valley views and alpacas just steps from your door. Refresh in the hot water outdoor shower, or head down a scenic 1-mile road to launch your kayak on the water. It’s the ultimate Pacific Northwest getaway! At night the forest becomes incredibly quiet and the stars overhead are often vivid thanks to the low light of the surrounding countryside. The Hollow is best suited for guests looking for a peaceful escape; couples, writers, nature lovers, and anyone wanting to unplug for a few days. Langley’s waterfront, beaches, and several Whidbey Island wineries are a short drive away. The Hollow on Whidbey Island is a different kind of farm stay; one rooted in quietude and restoration. While we are a working estate with grazing alpacas, we offer a 'passive' farm experience. There are no early chores or shared activities; instead, we invite you to enjoy the restorative presence of our herd grazing the pastures as you enjoy the seclusion of the forest. Inside the yurt you’ll find a comfortable queen bed, gas fireplace for warmth, vintage furnishings and a skylight dome overhead. Our indoor kitchenette is beautifully simple, minimalist, and designed for efficient glamping. Essentials provided like coffee, tea, electric tea kettle, mini-fridge with small freezer, outdoor pizza oven and an induction stove for simple meals. Pots, pans, dishes, utensils and basic oil and spices are provided too. Outside, guests enjoy a private firepit, Adirondack chairs, and a hammock tucked into the surrounding forest. The property is quiet and rural, with pasture views, and towering evergreens all around. A separate bathhouse a short walk from the yurt includes a hot-water outdoor shower, sink, and a clean composting toilet. Langley’s waterfront, beaches, and several Whidbey Island wineries are a short drive away. Guests have exclusive use of the yurt, private bathhouse, and the surrounding camp area during their stay. The space is fully private and yours to enjoy, with room to relax around the firepit, hammock, and forest clearing. We live on the property and are nearby if needed, but your space is private and fully your own. Our hosting style is relaxed and hands-off — available for questions or support while giving guests the space to fully unwind. Most guests enjoy feeling tucked away in the forest while knowing help is close if needed. We are a working alpaca farm and usually have visiting grazers (goats) in our fields and Sean their shepherd, checking on them twice a day. We will check on the alpacas twice a day as well.
