Near North Cascades National Park
Within a 30-minute drive from the North Cascades National Park Complex Headquarters and Visitor Information.
Only 5 minutes off Interstate 5, our 14-acre private property is both peaceful and relaxing, surround yourself in nature on the border of our pond and you’ll see that the view changes every day. During the day enjoy a fun canoe, kayak or paddle boat on the water while you fish our (catch and release) pond, explore the property, or relax and nature-watch for the various birds, amphibians, and other animals. At night enjoy the ballet of bats that dance above the pond while you relax around your private fire-pit under the stars. There are so many things to do! Every Saturday during the Summer the "Skagit Speedway" is open (3 minutes away),"The Skagit Casino" (5 minutes away), or there are several lakes near by you could swim or paddle board at within minutes of the camp ("Lake Padden" 12 minutes away)! Mountain biking can be done at "Galbraith Mountain" only 12 minutes away! If hiking is more your speed we are also located only 5 minutes away from "Alger Alp Trail" or "Squires Lake Trail" to name a few. Don't want to cook "Alger bar and Grill" is right down the road or 20 minutes away in Bellingham there are many restaurants and popular breweries to choose from! All campsites are equipped with umbrella picnic tables and their own fire pits with pull down grate (outside of burn bans), and we are pet friendly! June - Early July: See Tadpoles by the thousands in the pond July : thousands of Baby frogs/toads exiting pond August: you should see black berries ripening around the pond Our guests love staying here : "Larry was very helpful and responsive leading up to our trip and during our stay. The site is near a pond which we enjoyed watching birds (kingfishers and herons and more!) and the calm atmosphere of the neighborhood. It was a great stay and not too far from Seattle for a weekend get-away."Pitch your tent or park your camper just steps from the pond. Beside a large cedar tree you'll find a picnic table with an umbrella, an in-ground fire pit with a flip grate, and two tiki torches that can be filled with repellent tiki oil. Feel free to enjoy any available watercraft during your stay, including kayaks and canoes. The campsite has partial shade from the cedar tree, a beautiful pond view, and another campsite set a good distance away, making it semi-private. (A privacy hedge is currently being grown for even more seclusion.) Please bring your own water, as none is available on-site. A porta-potty is provided for your convenience. If you need anything or have questions during your stay, feel free to contact the host through Hipcamp messages. We hope to see you soon!
