It gives me much satisfaction in working to clean up this land. I appreciate your support by staying here, and I look forward to the opportunity to offer memories that can be remembered with fondness. While staying here, you may use my bathroom in my house if you need. I recommend bringing all the things you would bring if you were camping in the woods far from society. However, I do have a tent for two, including mattress pads and sleeping bags you may use. Otherwise, this is a relatively primative site (for now 😉).Flat woodland with premative camping for a slow and restorative retreat in local Richmond nature. Ideally situatated a short drive from both nature rich James River access points, and as well as the City for urban exploration and dining. I'm allowing access to my home for use of the bathroom :)

What to expect

A-frame

You'll have this Hipcamp all to yourself.

Campfires allowed

Firewood provided, firepit. I sell fire Wood. Propane fire place is available. Use of my wood fire pit is subject to local laws and burn bans, as well as my own discretion.

Toilet available

Flush toilet. Please treat my only bathroom, located in my house, with respect.

Pets allowed

Make sure your pets are treated for fleas and ticks. There is no fence, leashes may be needed.

Bins available

Compost bin, recycling bin, trash bin. Leave No Trace, or Better Than You Found It

Picnic table present

No potable water

Bring your own water. If you request, I can fill a jug with my well water.

No showers

There is a nice swimming spot in the James River is about 7 minutes away.

Cooking equipment absent

I have a charcoal grill, and a few other little things, I can offer.

No wifi

Laundry absent

Ask me and I might be able to offer my laundry machines.

Hot Tub absent

No playground

RVA Woodland Baby-A-Frame

I know that some people might enjoy a camp ground like this, so I would recommend it, but only if they feel up to the challenge. There is actually a bed in the A-frame, which was a surprise. One or two of the pictures show NO mattress in the A-frame, but there was one when I got there. I didn’t use it. I was hoping there wouldn’t be a mattress as suggested by some of the photos. I was expecting to be able to pull up to the camp spot with my vehicle, that wasn’t an option. Not a bad one, this is your heads up tho. After all that, the rest of the property and campsite is great! Tons of space and open area. There is a grill, table and of course the A-Frame and if that’s what you want, it’s great! I didn’t mind it after getting my bearings.

The baby A-frame was super cool. We enjoyed a relaxing evening of soft rain, crickets, and owl calls. The shelter felt private, with woodland views on either side. Thank you, Cody, for sharing such a beautiful place with us!

RVA Woodland Baby-A-Frame

This spot was everything I needed and more. Tucked away deep in the woods, it felt completely private—like we had the whole forest to ourselves. The A-frame structure was cozy and charming, and the queen bed made sleeping in nature super comfortable. The site had a great grill and seating area, perfect for unwinding. The bathroom is inside the host’s home and was very clean and easy to access. Speaking of the host—so thoughtful and friendly, and shared such cool knowledge about camping and local plants. This was hands-down my favorite Hipcamp so far. Peaceful, secluded, and so well set up. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a serene escape in nature!
