Great location that feels remote even though itâs just a short walk away. Hosts were excellent. They were always looking for ways to make our stay even better. We especially appreciated them helping us move our gear down to the campsite.
We loved how peaceful and quiet the site was. It felt like a little oasis in the Adirondack woods. The lean-to was so nice when it rained to keep all our gear dry. Matthew, Christine, and the little pup Annie were the sweetest and best hosts!
I honestly feel like I hit the Hipcamp jackpot with this stay.
From the moment Tilly and I arrived, Christine was incredibly warm, welcoming, and generous. She helped me get all of my gear down to the campsite so I didn't have to haul everything in, surprised me with an upgrade to the beautiful lean-to site beside the creek, and made sure I knew I could reach her if I needed anything â especially with weather coming through.
The property itself is absolutely gorgeous. The creek running beside the site was wonderful, the woods were peaceful and full of things to explore, and I couldn't have asked for a better place to unplug for a couple of days. I spent my time wandering, foraging, sitting by the water, listening to the rain, and genuinely enjoying being nowhere else.
But Christine is what made the experience truly special. She went so far beyond what I ever would have expected from a Hipcamp host. She was thoughtful, kind, helpful, and genuinely interested in making sure Tilly and I had a wonderful stay. By the time I packed up to leave, I didn't feel like I'd simply rented a campsite â I felt like I'd made a new friend.
This was my first solo camping trip, and I couldn't have chosen a better place or a better host for it. I came home rested, happy, filthy in the best possible way, and already thinking about when I can go back.
If you're considering staying here, do it. Just maybe leave a few dates open for me, because Tilly and I will absolutely be back.

The site is far enough from people that youâre afforded some privacy, and the owners are kind and generous and made sure my stay was comfortable and that I had everything I needed. I arrived on a last minute booking they werenât aware of until I showed up (not their fault as I literally had booked it ten minutes before arriving) and they got me settled into my site in minutes just before it started raining. They provided me with firewood, and even offered to dry my gear the next day. Luckily, even though it was a pretty wild storm, only my tent needed to be dry and they allowed me to dry it on the driveway right in front of the house while I explored the town and saw a movie.
I look forward to the next time I get to camp there and appreciate them for their hospitality, and the quiet escape from the craziness of the modern world.

Lean-to on the creek
Absolutely beautiful stay! Hosts were very helpful (lots of good info and help getting our thing in!) and had the site set up with lots of thoughtful touches. Super close to the Mariana and the Wild center. Canât wait to visit again with more time to explore!
The campsite is very relaxing with the sound of the river flowing right next to you. This site would be great for family, couple or solo travelers. It feels as if youâre in the backcountry with only a short walk. Itâs very quiet and peaceful. The river is clear to filter from and bath in. It was nice to arrive seeing a fire with starter already built ready to light. There was an extra starter for another night and a propane tiki torch. The hosts are very friendly, kind and hospitable. They offered to carry gear in on a 4 wheeler or tractor if needed. The lean too blocks the rain and there are solar lights around camp. There are some cross country ski trails that connect to the back of the property. I definitely recommend this campsite.
