Beulahland — “the land from which you can see Heaven.” Our 1860s home, built by an original Rising brother, sits on 35 acres of meadow, mixed-forest ravines, a year-round stream, wetlands with a one-acre pond, and an old orchard.
We maintain our landscape for wildlife, birds, and peaceful walks. We keep a small garden, along with patches of horseradish and rhubarb. In the spring, we tap our maple trees to make syrup.
The property straddles a paved county road, which can occasionally get busy with farm equipment and highway trucks. Once the traffic passes, however, the property returns to the peaceful sounds of birds and frogs.
