We had a good time, but would not recommend due to the toilet. It is a dirty old commode out in the open with little to no privacy. I would not dare even open the lid and I have a lot of experience working with people who use them, I often empty and clean them during patient care at the hospital as an LNA. No judgement against commodes, but they cant be kept one out in the elements like that. This would have been a nice place to stay if it wasn’t for that.

This spot is along a beautiful river and we heard many birds in the morning. It is not as private as we thought, and, heads up, there was no bathroom. The commode that their site indicates as the bathroom was broken and, even if it wasn't, there was nothing but a pallet blocking the view from the commode to the surrounding houses. We wish the host would have informed us about this prior.

We recently had the pleasure of staying at Daniel’s lovely campsite located right by the river in a private backyard setting. It was a truly peaceful and calm spot, perfect for relaxing and enjoying nature under the trees after a long hot day at the beach. The location was ideal, as it was conveniently close to Ogunquit and Hampton Beach (30mins away) and to grocery stores and restaurants. Overall, it was a fantastic camping experience that I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a serene getaway! We will definitely come back!

"Daniel P is the host with the most—and by 'most,' I mean he’s got the perfect spot for camping bliss! This was my first time using Hipcamp, and let me tell you, I hit the jackpot. Everything was perfect—directions? Spot on. Location? Couldn't be better. Camping experience? Well, let’s just say, if 'perfect' were a campfire, this one burned all night!
And a special shoutout to Kelly, the friendly four-legged breakfast guest, who stopped by just to say, 'Hey!' Honestly, could a camping trip get any better? I think not.
Huge thanks to Daniel for making my first Hipcamp experience one to remember—and to Hipcamp for connecting people (and pups) with such awesome places. I'll be back!"

This was a perfect spot to rest our heads for the night. I was very happy with the frogs & crickets singing us to sleep. We were given super clear directions which made it easy to get down to the site. The place for improvement is definitely with the "toilet" even though it is a pretty & wooded area, there were windows of homes I could see from every direction. Not private enough to drop my drawers. Even if there was a taller wall around 3 sides of a bucket on the ground, that would be preferable to the current setup. This is more of an issue for a longer stay. Overall, for a rest stop on my travels, I have no real complaints. There were kayaks avaliable and firewood if I wanted. A gorgeous dock/deck & firepit to enjoy, too. I was happy with the flat cushy spot on the ground for my tent & my sleep was awesome.

Private spot on Salmon Falls River
Super quiet and peaceful camping spot right along the banks of the river! The campsite is behind the host's house but still has some privacy. Not super private, though, but it did not bother us any. There is plenty of room to set up camp. There was a raised deck for chairs, a table, and a fire pit. We enjoyed sitting by the water and watching birds, and people kayak past. Overall it was a great tent site not far from town.

Make sure you don’t end up on daisy lane, if you pull off to the side of the road at the second house like the directions we’re given then you will be on private property. I ended up with one tire stuck in the mud and three local property owners telling me what I did wrong while consealing their guns. This all was before getting to the site which turns out is in a residential neighborhood across the river. When spotlights from the houses around are brighter than my fire I can’t call it private. I guess everyone has there own version of acceptable. Best part was listening to coyotes and owls on the river abd having a fire.
Don’t follow the directions from hipcamp, they will lead you to daisy lane.

This camping site is a sweet little spot at the base of the owner's yard situated in small neighborhood. While you can see houses the actual site feels surprisingly secluded and private. You can hear roosters and far off traffic as well as light sounds of of the neighborhood. We had a lovely night sitting around the fire pit, being by the water and surrounded by the beautiful colors of fall foliage. There is a bit of a walk from where the cars are parked to the camp site which is no problem with light camping gear however if you come prepared to do more car-camping style (with coolers, camping stove, etc) it takes a few trips to schelp everything and would be good to arrange to have a wagon available (which we were eventually able to arrange). Also, the site could use some basic and simple sprucing up- washing down the tables, checking the batteries on the string lights (half were not working), and tidying up the area. While the site is really quite sweet, given the amount of money we paid, I would have expected a little more TLC and attention to the site before we arrived. A nice camping spot with the potential to be a great camping spot.

Danielle’s site is situated at the bottom of a sprawling green lawn. When you enter through the the gates and onto the campsite site dont be surprised to find yourself feeling like “a happy camper“🙂

We loved the campsite and property. It's in a clearing in trees right on a beautiful river. Although it is within a line of sight from the house it feels far away and private. Daniel was a great host and we would definitely recommend the place to others.

This was the best next sequential step in taking my youngest camping. He has slept in our yard and this was like taking him to a way cooler someone else’s. It’s In a neighborhood but very private and and right on the water. The site was well thought out. The tree line hid the house. There was a great fire pit, the gazebo was a handy Surface to utilize and the strings of lights were a cool touch. We fished from the dock (and caught!) and made s’mores by the fire. The chickens came to say hello. My little boy liked listening to the frogs at night. Our hosts were great and very accommodating. Great spot only 1.5 hours away!

Daniel and his wife were great hosts! Stayed there one night to get out of the city and had no problems at all! There’s a fire pit, picnic table, grill and very flat ground to pitch a tent. It sits right on a river and then is close to host’s backyard but there is a lot of distance between site and house. Highly recommend if you’re looking for an affordable alternative to spending the night in Somersworth area!

We had a good time at the private spot on Salmon Falls River. Daniel communicated regularly to advise us on check in time (7pm), places to swim and bathe (go to state beaches and ocean), etc. Since it was raining that afternoon when we found a break in the storms to set up our tent Daniel walked us to the site and showed us the best spot. The next day we drove a quick 30 minutes to a nice small beach and park called Great Island Common near Kittery which was reasonably priced, uncrowded and had some pleasant trees for shade. We also picked up some snacks to eat to skip the local diners which were pretty busy. While it is a more residential area as noted, there is plenty of space around the other houses, the price is very fair, and you are close the beautiful Maine coast line if you are looking to head to the beaches.

Daniel and Cara were so hospitable and easy to communicate with! I would highly recommend checking their camping spot out. The camping area is on a secluded part of their land and has beautiful views of the river running right next to it. In the summertime, it would be perfect or swimming or kayaking! There is also a huge awesome fire pit that has plenty of space for a group to gather around. You're far enough away from the cars and house that it doesn't even feel like car camping. It's a truly great spot which I would definitely recommend to others.
