This property was once part of an 80 acre farm. It has now grown into a mature forest with deer, turkey, squirrels, chipmunks and many types of songbirds. Sheila grew up just across the road and spent many hours riding her horse and writing poetry on the property. As a retired artist, we love to entertain creative peaceful people and many think of our place as a quiet sanctuary that encourages creativity. We provide games, both outdoor and indoor, a screen house, hammock, nature trails and a new camp store with local items and snacks. There is an Amish community close by and a tour map is provided. We are also close to the largest canopy walk in the US at Whiting Forest and Dow Gardens. Only 25 minutes away. There is a small water park in the closest town with a beach. Locally there is tubing and canoeing at the Cedar River in Gladwin and kayaking at Pinconning Park on Saginaw Bay.

Crow's Nest
Crow’s Nest is a Dream!
We had so much fun on Sheila’s property. The animals are so comfortable on her property; they come so close to the cabin! We were able to see some deer, turkey, birds, and Sheila’s lovely cat Violet! Sheila is so thoughtful, she has a book with local bars, grocery stores, atv rentals, creeks, hiking trails, etc. She really went above and beyond! She was also so thoughtful bringing us extra dry kindling, as it had been raining before we had gotta there, which was so helpful the first night making our fire. The cabin itself was wonderful and cozy. And we would absolutely recommend Crow’s Nest to anyone needing a get away or wanting some time to connect with nature and loved ones!

A favorite spot of ours!
My husband and I loved returning to the Crow's Nest for our anniversary this year! Sheila and Jeff are wonderful hosts with a beautiful property. It's the perfect place for a weekend of relaxation in nature. The anniversary card and cookies when we arrived were a very sweet surprise! Can't wait to come back!

The wigwam was amazing! And Sheila was so wonderful, and even placed a birthday balloon as a surprise for my twin daughters, since it was their birthday getaway. Perfect fun and quick trip.

Perfect Little Getaway
We absolutely loved our stay. It was very clean, cozy, private and peaceful. Shelia even put up a happy birthday banner for my husband's birthday which was so very thoughtful. Amazing hosts that are very kind to share their property for others to make happy memories. We will be back! P.S. There is a compost toilet. It's not too bad. It's kept very clean and sanitized.

Crows nest was a great place to stay. I loved the hammock, the inspiring words along the trail and the corn hole game. Sheila was friendly and laid back. It’s great to be surrounded by the woods! Compost toileting bit of a challenge for us personally but overall experience was great.

Tucked away in the woods
Nice stay. Everything was as described. Clean and cozy cabin. The provided firewood was a great addition. Hubby and I had fun with the Michigan trivia book the whole night. Compost toilet was a little stinky but as to be expected. Would definitely stay again. Sheila was wonderful as well.

Perfect stay!
Staying at the crows nest and on Sheila’s property at the wiigwaas campground. I have been going over the last year and seeing all the new touches that are made each time is incredible. Including the outdoor shower!! I can’t recommend enough. It is quite relaxing with a lot to do around

Crow's Nest
Needed a solo retreat and was contemplating between camping and a more “modern” rental when I found the Crow’s Nest, which is basically a perfect cross between the two. It provides more than enough comfort, amenities, and convenience but still feels like being in the middle of a forest (with the coolest neighbors/hosts close by). Highly recommend!

Cozy Retreat
The Crow’s Nest was just as described—cozy and lovely. I was there on an extremely humid night, had it not been so sticky and storming I’m sure I would have been perfectly comfortable.

Peaceful piece of heaven
The Crows Nest was amazing in every way. It is a Shabby Chic cabin nicely decorated, and with everything you could possibly need. Attention was even given to the littlest of details. Its very quiet, private, and relaxing. We enjoyed sitting by the fire, watching the wildlife, playing yard games, walking the trails, and so much more. It truly was a respite haven that allowed us to recharge. We plan to return.

Crow's Nest
Crow's Nest is truly magical. The moment we turned onto the property, we were enveloped by trees & birdsong. The boardwalk to the sweet tiny cabin is more charming than words or pictures can convey. Sheila's artistic & inspirational touches throughout the property are medicine for the heart & soul. It is obvious great care has been taken to build a relationship between human & other-than-human beings here, and staying here is a genuinely restorative & healing experience. As if that's not enough, the amenities provided are exceptional -- Sheila & Jeff have gone out of their way to make sure guests are comfortable and supported. We love this place!

Renewed, such caring hosts!
The crows nest was amazingly beautiful and the hosts were conscientious and so kind! Brought us a generator during a power outage, and offered us to stay in their house during storms. Because my son and his friend weren't able to set up a tent due to rain and thunderstorms, these awesome hosts offered them a stay in the Wigwass, which was so comfortable and lovely! Lots of deer, chipmunk, and raccoon sightings. The hiking trail around the camp is the most beautiful meditation. And the property is just so, so lovely. Everything is done with love towards the guests, from the fire starting instructions to the skewers hung up nearby, to the walking meditation in the woods. We felt the love and are so grateful to Sheila and Doug! Wifi in the cabin was excellent.
