The Perfect Alternative to a Hotel
I stayed a few days in the Malakai Tent and found it to be a peaceful and relaxing experience. The farm has two goats, wild chickens, and several cats that roam the property. The owners’ friendly dog also roams freely.
I traveled with my assistance dog, Moose, and kept him leashed throughout my stay. If you plan to bring a dog, I would recommend ensuring it is well-trained and kept under control, particularly given the presence of other animals on the property.
The community amenities were well maintained. The outdoor shower was private, spacious, and provided warm water. The restrooms were clean and equipped with flush toilets. There is also a communal area available for cooking, laundry, and trash disposal.
The tent itself was very clean and comfortable. The property remained quiet throughout my stay, with only sounds of animals and staff quietly tending to the gardens during the day. Although I did not participate in the educational or farm-to-table experiences this visit, I am interested in trying them and plan to return before the end of the summer.
Overall, I enjoyed my stay and would recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful farm experience on Oahu.
