We loved camping on Spencer's land. Spencer was a friendly and welcoming host. He was always found somewhere around the property working on one project or another so don't worry if you don't see him right away upon arriving, just look around for the guy walking towards you waving his arms all around in the air. We had access to our own water spigot and picnic table with a good amount of space. It was also fun to watch the paragliders and hang gliders fly around and land on the back portion of his property. We were there visiting the national parks. This is the last town before you enter the parks, so you can't really get any closer without actually being in the parks themselves, so overall it was a nice location.

The host, Spencer, is awesome! He checked in frequently to make sure we had everything we need. He even loaned us a propane grill to use at our camp site!
Campsite has awesome amenities like good bathrooms with hot showers. and ice machine!!, hot water kettle, and microwave.
The Yurt is huge for two people with a good quality bed. Would definitely come back

We just got back from an awesome weekend here and it was honestly one of the best campsites we’ve been to. Super friendly host, clean facilities, and lots to do. LOVED THE CLEAN BATHROOMS W/ HOT SHOWERS AND FLUSHING TOILETS!!! The pond was gorgeous and we had a blast on the pedal boats and canoes. It was super peaceful out there especially early morning and sunset. Everything was clean and well cared for. Thank you Spencer for the great camping experience!

Spencer is great and clearly will do his best to make sure everyone has the best experience they can have. The showers, toilets, and sites are all well kept and clean. The location is great and there are lots of options in and around the site.

We loved staying at Dunlap Canyon Retreat. Spencer’s a great host. It was a busy Memorial Day weekend! This placed offered a lot for families: pond, canoes, fishing, trampoline.
We stayed in Yurt #2. It was clean, well taken care of, and comfy. Our dog Cash loved being able to run around and play. The bathrooms and showers were great. It was a great place for our group to launch from for some day trips into Sequoia and King’s Canyon parks.

The campsite was amazing! It was a busy weekend but Spencer was very accommodating. Highly recommend to anyone traveling in the area especially for easy access to Sequoia/Kings Canyon NP. Surrounded by mountains with paragliders and hang gliders landing nearby.

We enjoyed our stay! It was short as we spent part of the afternoon into the night there (we were mostly stopping there to hike sequoia) but the place was peaceful , and even had some fun little activities for the kids to enjoy 🩷

We loved camping on Spencer’s land. He is the most hard working, thoughtful and genuine person one can ever meet. From the acceptance of our late arrival to making sure we safely moved our 35’ fifth wheel off of the property, Spencer was 100% focused on our experience being a positive one and for those around us also enjoying the property. Although set up for thrill seeking hang glider pilots and their families, any camper looking for a unique and memorable experience should strongly consider this campground. We will return soon and are thankful we had the opportunity to spend quality time on this land. Thank you Spencer!

Really cool time at the canyon retreat!
That is a really nice place! Eventhough we had a rainy day, we where offered a sublime sunset there. The place is so green and quite.
Our host was really nice and welcoming! Nice hot showers, very welcomed after a freezing time at Yosemite.
There was a few very nice dogs wandering around, zena kept following me everywhere, that was cute.
The yurts are charming and very well kept.
Definitly reccomend, and would come back!

Beautiful location. The Hipcamp has been created with lights in the trees, lush grass, clean, and excellent showers/toilet block.
The sunset was incredible, it’s super peaceful. I really wish we could have stayed longer but we had other places to be. Spencer was an excellent host. I highly recommend this location. It’s perfect as a base to head into Kings Canyon.

Dunlap retreat was a great spot to spend a night. Sites aren't private but they are flat and suited us just fine. The washrooms were clean and showers were warm. Directions were clear. Spencer was very welcoming to any questions.

Spencer is an awesome host. He went to great lengths to help me locate a tent camping spot that was perfect for my needs. The pond was idyllic with bullfrogs and Canada geese. Definitely visit here in the Spring when the temps are moderate and there are abundant wildflowers.

Beautiful campsite for anyone seeking a quiet and safe place to stay while visiting Sequoia National Park or King’s Canyon. It has all the utilities you need, with large open space where you can play frisbee golf and kayak in the pond. Clean restroom and shower. Will definitely return for another getaway!

Spencer was a very accommodating host with a great property! He was always there to help from supplying us with propane for our heater, helping start our fire, and checking in to make sure we had everything we needed. We stayed in one of the yurts and it was clean and simple. He provided little things like a headlamp and toiletries which were a nice touch to have in the room. We brought our 3 dogs with us and they were able to roam freely and enjoy the property with us. It was perfect for them to have that freedom and not need to be on leash. There were also full bathrooms with showers that were great to have. It just made life easy. We were about a 20 min drive from the kings canyon entrance and it was super easy to get there. We really enjoyed Spencer as a host and person. We would 100% recommend his property for camping, yurting or to stay in the winter or summer!

This place is fantastic hidden gem just off the beaten path to Fresno. Spencer was welcoming and service was great, made me feel at home. The Yurt was basic but had everything you’d need. They made sure I had a heater and a power block in case I needed it, very thoughtful. The property is a great place to wander in the fall. Beds were warm and queen sized. Good sky watching, and the mountains are misty and beautiful in the morning. Bathrooms were good and showers had hot water, plus there are additional Portos spread around if you need them in a pinch. They supplied all linens, towels, soap, etc. Place also has hang gliding and paragliding

Thank you Spencer for being such a wonderful host and ensuring we have everything we needed. Bathroom and campground facilities were clean and constantly maintained. Our group of 6 + 3 dogs had an amazing time! We will be back again!

Spencer is AMAZING! He took extremely good care of me. The yurts are comfortable and cozy glamping - it got down to the 40's so I brought my own Mr. Buddy Heater and propane tanks but he has them on site if you need it. The bathrooms are heated, modern and clean. He set up a communal firepit for everybody for the chilly evening, which was a nice thoughtful touch. I'm an archer who was competing nearby, and joked, so do you have an archery range? And he set up a target for me so I could practice! The surrounding mountains are beautiful. I was far enough away from others that I could enjoy my privacy as I hung outside my yurt. He also has some cute campers set up, and spaces for tent camping. There are beautiful hikes around the property. His dogs are adorable. It has a really great feel there. The prices are also really reasonable. Go, visit Spencer, stay in a yurt, enjoy the view and the hikes, have fun!

I loved this campground! The owner was so awesome and his dogs were adorable. The bathrooms were above average bathrooms for a campsite. The owner was very helpful, welcoming, and loved chatting with us and sharing about his property. The campsite was clean and decorated. It is about an 45-1 hour drive from the national parks which is nice because you don't get the traffic of people. Would recommend !!!

I had an incredible stay at Spencer’s campsite! The location is absolutely beautiful, offering everything you could want for a peaceful and enjoyable time near Sequoia National Park. Spencer is incredibly friendly and welcoming, making sure every guest feels right at home. One of the highlights was definitely his three adorable dogs — they added so much charm to the experience! The facilities were spotless and well-maintained, making it easy to relax and enjoy the surroundings. If you’re visiting the area, this campsite is hands down the best choice. Highly recommended!

It's a great secluded place. Super quiet at night and the stars were great even with the smoky haze. Unfortunately we were on the go the whole time going to Sequoia that we didn't spend much awake time there. But one stand out feature was the bathrooms. Very clean! Spencer was a great host and very accommodating with our late check in.

Spencer met us at the gate even though we were a bit later than anticipated. The site looks very inviting with fairy lights around the area. We were the only RV there and our space was easy to get into as a pull through. We had a water hook up which was great. The dump was there too which we just used in the morning before we left.
I'm addition to a very peaceful site there were also some of the best shower facilities we have come across in 5 week's of RV travelling.
We were going to leave at sunrise but it ended up being 9am after such a nice stop before heading to Monterey.
