We are a family owned/operated ranch, located along the Cosumnes River, one of the last un-dammed rivers in California. As one of the last rivers flowing from the west slope of the Sierra without a major dam, the Cosumnes is a vital example of a healthy watershed. Our goal is to offer a unique outdoor experience for anyone looking for a place to spend time in the great outdoors. Whether you're looking for a single campsite, or a place for a larger gathering, we're excited to have you visit! Take your pick of activities available on site: swimming , gold panning, fishing, camp fires, wildlife watching, floating, hiking, and mountain biking to name a few. There are 3 miles of river to explore. *Please note: We don't allow wood campfires during the summer months (generally the last week of May through September)*

This cabin is off the grid and does not have electricity or running water. Cabin is set above the perfect swimming hole along the Cosumnes River. This is the smaller of two cabins in the area. The cabin has a small wood burning stove for chilly nights, as well as an outdoor fire pit for use during designated times of year. There is a queen size bed with clean fitted sheet. Hipcamp guests bring their own bedding. Swimming, paddle boarding, mountain biking, hiking, fishing, and more. There are 3 miles of river to explore. Site 2A-Sawyers Bar
Tent camped at Sawyer's Bar #2A with two kids and two dogs. Phenomenally beautiful land with rolling hills and old oak trees. Six campsites were in our area and were spaced decently (100 yards or so) and with trees between 2A and 3, although we could see site 2 from several points in our campsite. 2A is right next to the river and has a private small gravel/sand beach and drops off like a rocky staircase into a deep swimming hole, just below some small rapids and upriver of some larger rushing rapids (that provide an amazing sound throughout the night). Great for older kids swimming and floaties, and amazing for ice-cold plunges. Need a pop-up tent for shade, as no large trees at this site. The community swimming hole is just between sites 1 and 2, and has a sandy very gradual beach and very little current, great for smaller kids or wading dogs. Four porta-potties for the 6 campsites were an easy walk, well placed between sites, and exceptionally clean. Tons of birds, beautiful wildflowers, some fish and frogs, and the kids loved seeing the cows on the long gravel farm roads in and out. Reservations and host communication were easy and quick, we met host Tom on our second day and got to learn a little more about the place (and hopefully next time he'll stay for tacos). We had such a wonderful time at this special place.

Site 14 - The Overlook
I loved camping here. Sit 14 is private with a stunning view. Tom was very welcoming and gave me a great run down of the property. There is a swimming area just a short 'hike' down the hill. I had the whole area to myself during the week. It is so peaceful. The porta-potty with a hand washing station is very clean and not too far away from the site. There is a 3 mile long, sometimes very rough dirt road to get there from the main street so keep that in mind. I am ready to book another trip. Thank you for sharing your beautiful property.

I can't wait to return!!! Ahh! Easy to get to once you follow all directions given by the host. Very remote and tucked in. Pure magic. Be mindful of the fast moving water. Porta potties were very clean. The host introduced themselves and gave me more ins and outs. Plymouth is super cute! Really nice coffee shop downtown. Bug spray is a must imo.

Magical spot! Good privacy and right on the riverbank. Sleep with the sounds in the background. Caught two bass there. Swam. Enjoyed a hike. Great for families. Only caution: watch out for ticks! We found 2 on us.

We had a lovely stay at this campground and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful riverside getaway. The campsite was beautiful, right along the river, and the sites were spread out enough that everything felt private and relaxing without being overcrowded. Everyone who worked there was incredibly friendly (Tom!) and welcoming, which made the experience even better. We loved being able to float on the river and fish during the day, and there’s also a nearby pond stocked with fish that was a lot of fun. It was also charming driving through the ranch and seeing all the cows! Overall, it was a wonderful place to unwind and enjoy nature. We’ll definitely be coming back again!

This was such a peaceful and beautiful campsite! The overlook provided the perfect amount of privacy from the trees while also being able to see the river. I loved waking up to the sound of the cows and being able to see them as you drove to your campsite. Rachel stopped by and checked on us the first day we got there and was very kind. We would definitely stay here again!

We love the ranch. Would be back in a heartbeat (maybe in August???). Can't wait to come back. No campfires in certain times of the year but...if you like rivers, SUP, and quiet...this could be the place.

It is private at the end of a row of campsites, has shaded tent area, soft sand for sleeping in on a a warm night and the constant soothing sound of running water with the river flowing 40 feet away. Only downside is the swim beach is 4-5 campsites away and the porta potties are about 500 feet away. To me it’s the best spot if you want to relax in privacy.

The property is breathtaking!!! Our site was perfect for a large family. We had an amazing trip and made lots of memories. We will definitely be back. The porta potties are well maintained and fully equipped. The hosts are very accommodating!!!

Site 14 - The Overlook
This is our second timing visit the ranch but first time on Site 14. The view is spectacular! We watched the wild life around the river and observed sunset and then the beautiful starry skies. The site has privacy and is only a short walk from the porta potty. It’s also next to the trail down to the swim holes. Some minor inconvenience is that we had to be careful with the “cow pies” around the area so some areas smelled when the temp was high during the day. My dog also loved smelling them so I had to be very careful where we were walking. >_< All in all, beautiful campsite and view. Be ready to drive on approx 10-15 min of dirt road to get to the various campgrounds.

Site 16 was spacious and secluded with trees for shade and a beautiful view of the river and hills. Bathrooms were clean. Site was clean. Rachael and her team were responsive and friendly. We would definitely go back again.

Gorgeous property in a Central Oak Woodland. Rolling hills, rushing river, and ability to roam around the property. Lots of cattle and baby cows to look at. Sawyer’s Bar #5 was tucked away from other sites, had decent shade, and the cleanest port a potty I’d ever seen. I’d definitely go back

We had a fantastic time. The ranch is huge, and beautiful. We were the only guests at the campsites for most of the time we were there, which was really nice. The river was moving a lot of water, but it’s spring so that’s to be expected. We didn’t catch any fish but we really enjoyed the serenity and the beauty of the environment.

Site 4 - Sawyer's Bar
I thought the property was very pretty. Someone came and checked on us as soon as we got there to welcome us, which was nice. We almost canceled because it was going to rain, but you have to cancel a week in an advance for a full refund, which is hard to do because weather forecasts change daily. We are used to camping in higher elevations and where we were there were a lot of ticks, which was a little stressful with kids and dogs, but I am sure campers may expect this. Also, the site was a expensive. It would be nice to have more people allowed on each site, since families like to go together and there is plenty of room. We didn't even use the site we paid for. Overall, it was a good experience and we had a great time, but next time we will be headed to higher elevation and campsites that are cheaper so we can stay longer.
