We are a located in a rural area of Tallahassee, along the Florida Big Bend Scenic Byway and surrounded by the beautiful Lake Talquin State Forest. Great fishing and hiking trails and beautiful sunsets. Two Trailwalkers and one Trailtrotter trails are just minutes away. There is also a 10-mile Lines Bike Trail. See trail maps in our photos!
Private and group goat yoga classes may be available during your stay. Check the extras under our booking for schedule and to book a ticket. You can also add milking lessons!
If we are showing booked for the dates you would like to visit us, please drop us a message. Often the calendar here conflicts with our listings on other sites and we can probably fit you in!!
Please let us know if you are van camping so we can save a parking spot for you. Because we rely on RV workcampers, we generally do not have RV spots available, but ask us!
We provide water, wifi, laundry, fresh eggs, and fresh fruits and veggies for the picking when in season.
We have a small outdoor kitchen area with grill, stove, utensils, and picnic table.
There is also a common room with sofas, laundry, fridge, microwave, tv, coffee pot, and kettle.
We have a small bath house with hot shower and a composting toilet. Soap, shampoo, conditioner, and fresh towels provided.
There are also water spigots in the camping area.
Common areas and bath house is about 250 feet from camping area, which is located adjacent to the pasture.
There is a communal fire pit and sites allow a small campfire at the site. Please bring your own in state firewood, pick some up at the way in from Country Feed Store on Highway 20, or you can collect fallen from the woods.
We can also offer extra tents and gear sets for $15/$50 deposit if you need more space. You will need to setup/break down the extra tents yourself. You can reserve the extra tent under extras when you book.
Check-in/Check-out time is flexible depending upon concurrent bookings!
Dogs welcome at all sites, but never in the pasture. Pets must be leashed during the day when our chickens free range.
Please arrive before 7:00pm. Remember, there is an hour time difference if coming from the west. Late arrivals interfere with our milking routine and we cannot stop milking to show you around. Farm folks also hit the hay pretty early! Please do not book and then tell us you will be arriving late. Thank you.
Things you should bring:
Lighting - flashlights, lantern, etc
Trash bag for your site (pack it in, pack it out, please - we have garbage and recycling receptacles)
Refillable water bottles
Sunscreen if you plan to be out on the lake
Bug Spray
One tent per booking. Please book additional sites for additional tents.
We are located at the end of a bumpy 3/4 mile dirt road off Highway 20/Blountstown Hwy on the lake. Part of the road is paved, but most is dirt and we are prone to flooding after more than a couple of days of hard rain. We have several cars in the neighborhood that don't have a problem on the road, but - full disclosure! If bumpy dirt roads bother you, our road in is not for you. We - and most of our guests - think it is worth it.
We are about twenty five minutes from FSU stadium - straight shot! We love to host students and parents!
Please don't take it personal if we don't leave you a review! Hipcamp gives hosts only three days to leave a review. Once you have visited you will see how crazy busy we are at the farm and sometimes those three days pass too quickly! We do the best we can to get reviews posted in time! (We've been begging them to give us more time, so maybe soon!)
Feel free to message if you have questions! The herd looks forward to meeting you!!
- Check in: After 2PM
- Check out: Before 12PM

You'll probably want to start a goat farm of your own, or just take a couple of the baby goats. Well don't do all that but make sure you snuggle all of them! The lake is a BEAUTIFUL spot to pitch a tent or even ENO for the night. You have plenty of privacy and plenty of firewood if needed. There's also a little shed in the back yard that the owners have set up to your convenience - a fridge, hot plate, and washer/dryer is provided to keep your travels going smoothly!

We had the best time camping at the goat house! Highly recommended! Melissa and her from helpers are incredibly welcoming and generous, her property is gorgeous (I recommend walking the trails in the state forest), the sunsets and stars can't be beat, and the goats are a riot. We were lucky enough to be there the day a baby goat was born - it was so precious and cuddly. The pig is also a hoot! And with access to laundry, wifi, power and potable water, this place truly is a gem!
Melissa was a fantastic host. An amazing property with privacy and access to the water. My dog loved it here. We hope to have a chance to stay again. Couldn't have asked for anything more.
Melissa waited up for us until 10:30pm with a warm welcome and gifts!! The goat farm was so much fun and we got the chance to meet and play with all of them! But that’s not all.. more pleasant suprise-friends are on the farm too but we won’t give it all away. Highly recommended and will definitely come back. Complimentary farm fresh breakfast blew our minds, are you kidding!? Much love to you Melissa and everyone down on the farm. We are well rested and ready to continue our trip. Kayaking on the agenda next time!
Our camping spot had a wonderful view of the river. We went kyacking on the lake and spent the rest of out time hanging out with the goats.
We're hoping to come back gain soon with friends!

Melissa is a welcoming host to her sweet homey property. The goats were obviously a highlight, plus the hidden woodsy trail that leads down to a huge amazing lake!

What a terrific time! We were spoiled- Melissa made us feel right at home and kept us fed. Loved that she told me about local lore of the plantlife and the history of the farm :) Would definitely visit again!
Melissa and The Goat House completely exceeded my expectations. Melissa was an outstanding host and did everything to make us feel comfortable - she showed us around, introduced us to all of the goats, and gave us a wonderful breakfast. The views of the lake were stunning and I had so much fun taking the kayaks out on the water. Also, the goats. So. Fricken. CUTE! I would definitely return, even just for a quick day trip.

Oh my gosh, I love these photos so much, especially the kayaking!! Thanks for sharing these!!
