Welcome to Solitude in the Woods.

An unplugged, talk free experience to get away from city life and the task of chatting for a while.

Here on our private property in the Foothills of the Sierras you will be surrounded by Trees as far as the eye can see. There are some short walking trails available to wander on. Depending on your interests and length of stay we will provide a map of what to explore while on our land.

We have close to 80 acres to work on here with our mission of Forest Preservation. Your brief hammock stay helps support our goals and hopefully encourages you to want to do the same type of work to care for Mama Earth.

At the very least we trust that by sleeping in a hammock hung under the tree canopy and not talking to anyone for a couple days, and not even turning on a cell phone or checking the internet, will heal your mind and soul in ways you may not yet have even imagined.

This is a place to unplug and just BE in the Forest. A place for quiet meditation and just listening to the wind in the trees. A space to write on paper or just think and get away from the static of digital devices.

This is for someone who would like to experience solitude in all it's glory.

If after a couple days of solitude you would like to work together with us and possibly extend your stay, we do have a lot of various opportunities to offer.

We can teach you life saving sustainable skills, take you to amazing waterfalls and swimming holes, and share all this wonderful abundance and Love with you.

♡♡Special Volunteer Experience♡♡

This space is very much inspired by a wonderful place I Love dearly that changed my world and gave me many opportunities to participate in teamwork to make lasting positive changes to the land and to the future flow for fellow guests. In fact there are multiple places that I have paid to volunteer at over the years that have influenced our goals, methods, and mission.

Here at the HAMMOCK HOSTEL IN THE FOREST, located in the Foothills of the Sierras in Northern California, we work together to care for Mama Earth.

We tend to the trees thru limbing them up, clearing the standing dry tinder, creating fire breaks and doing daily trail maintenance, while also creating habitats for the wild and beneficial creatures.

We are propagating mushrooms for a healthy forest floor, and also always working on water management, encouraging life abundance.

We also have a no kill animal sanctuary, giving a happy home to many animals, some of whom need extra special care, allowing them to have a safe space in the forest while supporting the natural cycle of symbiotic regenerative agriculture.

Of course it takes a lot of work, and a whole lot of money to look after many living beings, keeping them safe, temperate, Loved, well fed, happy, and sectioned accordingly.

Sharing this sustainable living experience helps support our work while also teaching and encouraging others to be a healthy part of our forest family tree, strengthening our rooted foundation and branching out to do similar good deeds along the travels around this beautiful planet.

For those who wish to stay longterm with us, we welcome your creative input. If you want to enjoy hand feeding some goats and chickens, and perhaps help generate funds for the farm from selling fertilized eggs, or goat milk, we provide the tools, animals, land, and support.

Sharing more pets with the pets and brushing some of the largest dogs you've ever been around, or participating in maintaining their shelters, etc. are more of the kind hearted tasks needing additional caring hands around here.

Again, these are opportunities only available to those whom we have established a longterm agreement with. We are not operating a petting zoo.

No interaction with the animals will be had as a hipcamp temporary stay guest, unless we have created a different longterm stay arrangement.

Of course there are many projects going on here and we are always looking to grow our Forest Tending Family Tribe of Tree Huggers.

Maybe you would like to help out with casting some seeds, watering the garden, harvesting the bounty, or getting goods to market.

Perhaps you have experienced skills to help build another coop, tool shed, or a fun climbing area.

Additionally social media and computer tasks abound so there are a few office hats and chairs to share with those who are in it to win it for the lifelong forest family tribe.

Meal Prep is another daily specialty that always welcomes some helping hands and fresh ideas.

Maintenance on all levels requires many eyes, and harmonious teamwork certainly makes the dream life work, so who knows, maybe you too will join us in joy for longterm living in the forest!

Your participation in the fruitful labor will be the type of experience that will help you grow and learn to be a great part of society at large by making every small choice a mindful and Loving one.

If being in the wild woods that has movement at all hours of the day with birds singing and insects chirping, dogs barking to keep the bears at bay at night, and roosters crowing way before dawn, all sounds enjoyable to you, then please, be our guest!

First and foremost here we invite you to unplug and enjoy what it is to be alone in the woods while knowing you are safe on private property.

The sounds of the farm remain in the distance, or not even heard at all from some of the designated hammock sites.

We do manage our bookings upon approval to be sure it is a harmonious good energetic fit for all present at this time.
