Here at the Hummingbird Hideout, birds abound by day and frogs chorus by night all the while the fog looms nearby but rarely overhead. Nearby recreational activities await as this part of the coast truly offers something for everyone. Our favorite activity is to leave the car behind and ride from the property into Mackerricher State Park and along the haul road to amazing beaches, tidepools and dunes. Top off the outing by grabbing a bite in town on bike before heading back to enjoy the wonderful sunset along the coast. We look forward to sharing our little piece of banana belt with those seeking a coastal adventure!

Welcome to the Hummingbird Hideout, a classic 1966 all-original and well-maintained Aristocrat trailer located a short 0.5 mile walk or bike ride to Mackerricher State Park! Come glamp with us and stay out of the crowded campgrounds! Nestled back from the country road on our property, you can expect privacy and lots of hummingbirds that live in the native landscaping.
Our coastal getaway is situated in a quiet neighborhood in the town of Cleone and just down the road from all the best the Mendocino coast has to offer! Nearby activities include horseback riding, walking or riding the ‘haul road’ along a beautiful stretch of the coast south into Fort Bragg or north to the Inglenook Dunes Preserve (the largest intact coastal dunes in California). Along this stretch, the coast features secluded beaches, rocky intertidal zones, whale watching, harbor seals sun bathing and lots of coastal birds and other wildlife! You can also hike the Coastal trail that meanders through the headlands and down to beaches adjacent to the haul road. Walk to the Purple Rose Mexican Restaurant for great food and drinks or to the Cleone Grocery to stock up on food and drinks. By car, we are a 5 minute drive into Fort Bragg and 15 minutes to the world-class artist village of Mendocino. Maps of hiking and info on the area is provided. We absolutely love it here, and think you will too!
