Homemade breakfast was delivered along with homemade hot tea and it was exceptional! They offered us to reach out for anything we may need but we didn’t need a thing! It was perfect! This cabin is so lovely and cozy! I was concerned about being warm enough in late March but I had no need to be. The gas fireplace keeps the cabin incredibly toasty. The creekside fire pit is picturesque. I enjoyed making a morning fire and watching the creek flow by as it gently began to snow. This was the perfect spot for a weekend of quiet reflection. Truly magical! Thank you!

At night it's a place where the stars shine bright, and the world is quiet and calm. We thoroughly enjoyed the wood burning stove. We used it to cook leisurely breakfasts, and later winter stew. Hosts are helpful, and kind. All the little touches, from overall ambience, to the binoculars, games and books, made it the cozy extended weekend we were looking for. We would have loved to stay longer. That will be next time...

Be aware of the super adorable creek just behind the yurt - in case your pup prefers going in rather than over! My late golden would have been soaked immediately.

Weekend Trip to Sonder Schoolhouse

Sonder Schoolhouse was such a beautiful place to stay for the weekend! Super quaint and had everything we needed & we loved how secluded it was while also being close to the Twin Cities. The host was also reliable and available for any questions. The only downside - there were a lot of flies inside that could be annoying at times.

Weekend Trip to DeLeeuw Dens

The yurt itself was a beautifully set up — spacious, warm, and very accommodating. Even with the cool October evenings, the heated yurt kept us toasty, and gathering around for games of dominoes while being warm and cozy. If you’re looking for something memorable and a little different, I recommend this yurt. The blend of nature, comfort, and family connection made it one of our favorite getaways. We’ll be back next fall!

Wonderful family get away. Slept so well. Lots of stargazing, family game nights, and screen free time. Would absolutely come back! I bet the yurt is beautiful after a snowfall. Responsive hosts, super clean yurt, comfy beds, and a composting not stinky out house! Had a great time.

We loved staying on Candace’s land! Our kids and dogs felt right at home. It was upscale tent camping. We had a great outdoor fire for breakfast, dinner, and s’mores and a great indoor fire to keep us warm on the cool fall nights. The beds were comfortable - especially when you’re used to a tent and a camping pad! And the house heated up so nicely. It was really nicely stocked - we normally bring tongs, spatula, etc. but there were some hung on the cabin which was a nice touch. It was really nice not to get service for a few days, enjoy the scenery, and bum around local towns. We’d absolutely stay again. ❤️

This cabin was wonderful and exactly what we were looking for to unplug and unwind for a few days. Perfect for what we were looking for and very serene and cozy. Our dogs absolutely loved the being able to run around and play on the land and there was tons of exploring for them to do. Thank you for having us! We can’t wait to visit again!

2 nights at Fisher Cat Creek Forest Retreat

Fisher Cat Creek was a great spot to relax and disconnect. Thank you to David and Veronica for the hospitality, the cabin was very comfortable and cozy. Everything was very clean and ready to go (having a little dog that sticks his little nose on everything we appreciate how tidy everything was). We had a couple of rainy nights but there was plenty of dry firewood to cook on the stove inside. We spent a lot of time reading on the couch with the sound of the rain and Archie had a great time while we explored the surrounding woods, definitely recommend going on a hike!! David and Veronica have thought of everything we could have needed, kitchen has literally all the utensils, beds were clean and comfy, plenty of firewood and drinking water, T.P., BBQ setup, lots of books and boardgames, plus the long dog tie out leash already set up was perfect! It was so comfortable we could have stayed way longer. What a cool place, very thoughtfully designed and built! Can’t wait to come back some other time! Thanks again! Cameron, Isabela & Archie
