Our secluded 80-acre farm is nestled in a valley between three mountains, where two babbling creeks meet—over two miles from the nearest residence. We raise chickens, ducks, and pigs while practicing permaculture and organic farming, using solar energy for parts of our operation. Camp at the Main Circle near our home trailer, cabana, and bonfire area, with access to electricity and Wi-Fi. For a more rustic experience, Kolb Field offers a peaceful spot along Coon Creek, shaded by a majestic walnut tree. You’re also welcome to camp almost anywhere on the property to find your perfect spot.
A lightly traveled public dirt road runs through our property. While an SUV or 4x4 is recommended, regular cars can access the site, and we have parking for standard vehicles. Please check with us in advance if you plan to bring an RV. Our farm is a great destination for overland camping—perfect for getting your truck a little dirty!
We are cautiously dog-friendly. Our farm dogs patrol the property to protect our free-roaming animals, so visiting dogs must be well-behaved, leashed, and comfortable around other animals. If you're unsure about compatibility, please reach out for advice. Our dogs will come to your camp to "check you out". If your dog has a problem with other dogs that are new to them you must let us know so we can control our dogs. We have had people come with problem dogs and not tell us so, we are asking for a $1 extra that we now require as a pet fee.

Property was owned by my great grandfather , He lost 150 acres in the early 1900's due to a bad debt from neighboring landowner. Was so happy to be able to repurchase the 150 acres back in 2016,now own the original land tract and added more. 250 acres in total. Portions were strip mined around 1978-1982 creating some flat fields and access to all property. I might add that strip mining if done properly can and does enhance the property. Ponds were built to catch runoff and several new animal species moved in waterfowl ,muskrats, and beavers. The beavers have constructed large dams on property further adding to the beauty. Have seen several bald eagles on and around the property.

We are less than a 1/4 mile from Maniac Mountain Haunted House, so you will hear the chainsaws, gun shots, and screams during the Sept-Nov time. We have 120 acres of wilderness you can explore. Be cautious of wildlife and look for WARNING signs. We have a private shooting range in the bottom fields of the property so you may hear gun shots April- September. The range is for our junior marksmanship program to practice for Nationals and local matches.
For winter months Oct-April water supply will be limited. A propane heater can be requested as well for the the yurt.

Camp Lucky Otter now offers a camper! It includes a short queen bed, dining nook, coffee bar, a mini fridge,+ camp essentials + space to store your things. There is so much to enjoy at Lucky Otter: the lake breeze, shady forest canopy, birdsong, room for activities, camp meals, and time around the campfire. Bird sounds prevail over boat noise -- which only occurs during busy season and during the day. At night, you will drift asleep to peaceful nature noises. Lucky Otter is a haven for campers, climbers, and lake folk alike. Rest at camp or venture off to the crags (very close to the Meadow and the Lake) or nearby hiking trails. We are just minutes from Battle Run Boat Launch, Gauley River put-in, and Summersville Dam. Drive just a mere 5 minutes and explore or picnic at Carnifex Ferry State Park -- they have the best panoramic river view! Check out Ample Pizza and Freefolk Brewery -- just a quick 12 minute drive -- and halfway to the National Park! We are a quick trip to the New River Gorge National Park (about 15 miles) and just a twenty minute drive from downtown Fayetteville. Explore Fayette Station where you can find a river front beach, waterfalls, and hiking trails. We offer the perfect spot to relax with your friends or family. Pups are totally welcome -- they must be leashed. Please note that the steep sloping hill past the two adirondack chairs at the bottom of camp that goes down to the lake is NOT our property but the Army Corps. This is a great spot for mountain bikers and river lovers. So close to snowshoe and affordable makes this an easy decision. Also the wildlife, flowers, and river on the property make this a truly powerful place. There is some traffic and noise from the road but it quiets down through the night and all you can hear is the trickle of the stream.

In addition to the NRG and Summersville Lake and Dam, also close by are Carnifex Ferry Battleground State Park where you can see where a crucial civil war battle took place, as well as Babcock State Park with its iconic grist mill and waterfall.
We provide 5 sites on our farm for every camping style, from electric and water RV hookup, dry RV to tent, each with a canopy shelter, table, fire pit and grill. All sites are spaciously separate from one another for privacy and perfect for couples who want to get away from it all, or for families or groups of friends who want to reconnect and catch up.
Clean portajohns are provided as well as a common area with a dishwashing station and a "to die for" outdoor hot water shower (above-freezing temperatures permitting)! Dishwashing station and hot water shower does not apply to the Gauley River Adventure site.

Audra State Park is less than 20 minutes away with lush forest trails with caves to explore. We are located exactly 2 & 1/2 miles north of the New River Gorge Bridge which is the edge of town of Fayetteville. We are close to the location that Airbnb put us, but due to West Virginia addressing it is the closest we could show on their map. Please ask us any questions you may have prior to booking about location, the tiny houses, activities, or anything!! ** No children under age of 10 and all tiny houses are not pet friendly**
We love the location being 2 minutes from the New river and close to all national parks. The Gorge is an awesome site and we hope others enjoy are area as much as we do. Close to white water rafting and rock climbing areas too.
Guests have access to the parking lot and the yards in back of the cabins. Feel free to bring a frisbie! Also have free access to free washing machines and dryers on the property as well.
***PLEASE NOTE*** Even though they can sleep up to 4 people, it may be very cramped inside with that many.**** Please note the tiny house is 18' X 8'. The first floor approximately 126 square feet including the bathroom. The second floor loft is approx. 80 square feet. Our water is city water on tap.
ALSO, there are 4 of the tiny houses on that part of the campground. EVERY tiny house has it's own picnic table and fire ring. You will never share anything with any other tiny house guest. This is like the new tiny house hotels! All 4 of them are listed on Airbnb. Ask us for the Airbnb links to the others!
Built just last year, our 18'x8' tiny house can sleep up to four. **Our tiny house ceilings are low, with just 6’2’’ in the kitchen. Clearance in the loft is about 4 feet. There’s a steep, narrow ladder into the open loft, which has a small railing, and doorways are narrow at 24 inches wide.** We have 4 tiny houses in total. We are located right off of the main highway, in a campground/RV park ***off to the side in our own area***. All of our tiny houses are completely self contained and on grid with full electricity and running water. ***Please note*** Even though they can sleep up to 4 people, it may be cramped inside with that many.**** Please note the tiny house is 18' X 8'. ***IN THE EARLY SPRING AND AGAIN IN THE FALL UNTIL END OF OCTOBER**There is a space heater and also a wall heater. Please note that these may not warm up to 80 degrees or more***
***PLEASE NOTE****The couch on the first floor has 3 sections that are stacked and are made out of a regular 8 " memory foam , full size bed mattress. The mattress was cut into 3 sections and each section covered. This can sleep 2 people but please note it is a full size mattress, not a queen size. The 3 sections lay next to each other & become a regular full size mattress on the floor. *****The fitted sheet included in the bedding will keep all the pieces put tightly together side by side*** Please ask us any questions you may have prior to booking if you are unsure.
There is a regular home mattress that is queen size in the loft as well. Both are very thick memory foam, regular bed mattresses with all pillows and bed linens provided. The bedding for the first floor bed will be laid out on the couch when you come in.
There is a folding card table and 2 metal folding chairs in the tiny house.
The full bathroom has a shower, toilet, and sink. We include towels, toilet paper, and hand soap. Usually the towel sets are underneath the bathroom sinks.
You will have access to the laundry building where washers and dryers are free to use.
Kitchenette has a kitchen sink with running water, mini fridge, coffee maker, microwave and a hot plate. We include a Mr Coffee type coffee maker, filters, coffee and styrofoam coffee cups. We have one pot, one pan (which are specific to the hot plate), paper plates, paper bowls, plastic ware -knives, forks, and spoons, & plastic cups. We also provide liquid dish soap and paper towels.
There is a television but no satellite, cable or local stations. Feel free to bring your own DVD player, games, etc. and cords. We do not supply cords for your devices. **Please Note** There is NO wifi. The entire New River Gorge area does not have a good service provider yet.
Cell service in our area is usually very good for most carriers, as we are high up and off the main highway. Your cellular hot spot should work very well.
Outside the tiny house, there is a picnic table and fire ring that you’re able to use to cook and push aside the grate later to sit around a fire. Firewood is for sale for $5 per bundle if you call the phone # on the door. They will deliver it in a short period of time. You may want to bring lawn chairs as I do not supply them. Also any outdoor cooking utensils would be good to bring as well.
Love playing games? This is the place for you! More than enough space outside to play bags, horses, washers, frisbee, soccer, kickball...you name it! Ask me about our space!
There is plenty of parking to include trailers and toys. Our tiny houses are along the side on the inside of a campground. Feel free to have a friend camp outside the tiny house. We have no parking rules, feel free to park right by your tiny house.
**Our tiny house ceilings are low, with just 6’2’’ in the kitchen. Clearance in the loft is about 4 feet. There’s a steep, narrow ladder into the open loft, which has a small railing, and doorways are narrow at 24 inches wide.**
We clean and sanitize your space according to Airbnb’s enhanced cleaning protocol that was developed Internationally with EcoLab.

We sanitize high-touch surfaces, down to the doorknob. We use cleaners and disinfectants approved by global health agencies, and the cleaning team wear protective gear to help prevent cross-contamination. We clean each room using extensive cleaning checklists. If you would like extra cleaning supplies, please call us, do not message or email. We also comply with local laws, including any additional safety or cleaning guidelines. Please ask us any questions you may have.
We have also own 7 cabins on one property about 2 miles north of the tiny houses. They are also listed in Airbnb, if you can't find their listing please message and I will send you the link to their listings. All are listed in Airbnb. Great for groups or family get togethers!
Our intention is for the tiny house to be affordable and work with your schedule. If the price you see for the dates you want is not available, please message us and let us know what would work for you so we can try to accommodate you.
**PLEASE NOTE** Our general area has a few food delivery services. However, most restaurants will also have carry outs available for you to pick up. Also our guests have ordered groceries at our local Walmart for pick up. This is very handy for groups.

Camping at Possum Holler Camp will provide you the perfect blend of solitude and recreation access. You will truly be in the heart of the New River National Park, yet still feel secluded in the beautiful woods without neighbors. You will have private access to beautiful and idyllic Mill Creek, which has many beautiful emerald pools and is even seasonally stocked with rainbow trout! Within a mile you can access the New River Gorge Bridge and the Canyon Rim Visitor Center, and you are equally close to the park's world class climbing, rafting, hiking, ziplining, and mountain biking at the New River Gorge National Park and surrounding areas. Your group will have the entire camp to yourselves, so there's no need to worry about noisy neighbors.
Our driveway has recently been revamped to include more flat parking and a less steep access route! While these improvements are great, we still caution our guests to avoid bringing large trailers and to use 4WD if available in an attempt to minimize rutting in the future.
Seasoned hardwood firewood is available on site for $6/bundle. You are allowed to bring your own firewood, but only if you source your firewood locally because invasive pest species can travel in firewood.
Possum Holler Camp is a Leave No Trace campsite, guests are asked to pack out anything they bring in and leave the area undisturbed. This includes damaging vegetation, creating new fire rings, or altering the natural area in any way. Also, please do not camp in the meadow area and only use the cleared out areas in the woods surrounding the parking and picnic/fire area for pitching tents.
If you stay below the high water line, then feel free to move as far up or downstream Mill Creek as you like. The creek is indescribably beautiful in both directions! But please keep in mind that there is private property once you are above the high water line, please do not trespass on our neighbor's property.

Nestled amongst the rhododendron with a lovely creek flowing through, this campsite was truly peaceful. Easy access to firewood was amazing, and there were plenty of spots to set up tent / hammocks. The portapotty was clean and the campsite was easy to find. There was cellphone service at the campsite as well. I’d go back 100%!

This is a beautiful camp site with great views and the rhododendrons are gorgeous and everywhere. There are multiple good tent and hammock spots and it’s a great set up for a larger group while still affording you space. It was super convenient to have wood on site. I already can’t wait to come back.

The family absolutely loved camping at Wild Goat Farm with all the animals. The hosts were amazing! We only had a short stay but made they made it so special. This little campground was a great find and we will be back. Bathrooms were clean, bright, and nice. Hot showers were a really nice extra. Location was beautiful with both tree covered shady areas and open spots to see the stars (which were amazing). There is even a pavilion with chairs for group gatherings. Walk across the street to the river to watch the wildlife with your coffee in the morning. Lots to do in the area with kayak/canoe/paddle board launches very close by, the Greenbriar Rail Trail practically running alongside the camp, scenic drives all around, and a really nice store with a small restaurant and soft-serve ice cream just down the road. Steve and crew were extremely responsive, friendly, and helpful.

This is a perfect location for doing anything in the area. It is tucked away into a little neighborhood but affords plenty of privacy. The site is so perfectly and thoughtfully put together. You can tell that the placement of everything both inside and outside of the camper was deliberate. Arriving on the first day was full of pleasant surprises that I won't spoil here. The site is well-stocked with almost anything you could possibly need. As a result, we really didn't require much from the hostess, Elle, but she made it very clear she was prepared to address any issues that might arise. It is such a charming little site and if we are ever back in in the area, we would not hesitate to stay at the Lucky Otter again.

Julie and Shannon introduced themselves and gave us a tour of the farm. They own an animal paradise. It was so beautiful and peaceful with critters everywhere. There was never a dull moment watching the dogs, horses, llamas, and much more enjoy the acres of hilly grassland. My favorites were the pigs that joined us at the campfire. We purchased eggs, honey, and homemade laundry detergent. I highly recommend. Thank you for letting us “city” folks experience your life.

I can’t say enough about this place! We haven’t relaxed like that in a while! The aframe was secluded and quiet. Grate was provided to cook over the fire. The dogs loved all the smells and the bed was comfy! We both said we will be making this our regular spot when we need a weekend away!

unfortunately, I did not have a four-wheel-drive vehicle and my front wheel drive vehicle was not able to pull my camper up the unpaved roads that led to the campsite. The hosts were very helpful and canceled our booking. We were very disappointed because it was a beautiful property and very excited this day.

Great spot next to the river. Road to camp was smooth gravel and can be accessed by car without issue. Site was well kept and grass was neatly mowed. View of the river was also nice. About 4 miles from Philippi, so running into town isn't a major undertaking.

Had a wonderful stay at this campground. I was the only camper on a Thursday. Has great sizes sites, running water access, flush toilets and even rustic showers. You can launch your kayak just across the street and access the trail within steps. Loved every moment!
