"Gauley Days" refers to Gauley Season, a six-week period each fall (starting after Labor Day) when the Gauley River in West Virginia is opened with large releases of water, creating world-renowned whitewater for rafters. This event draws rafters globally to navigate the river's powerful rapids, particularly on the Upper and Lower Gauley. It also includes the annual Gauley Fest, held in Summersville, WV, which is American Whitewater's largest public outreach event, celebrating the river with various activities and attracting paddlers.
