There are mountains, wetlands, meadows and forest land right in our back yard where we often see wildlife that call our area home. Elk, deer, turkeys, geese, ducks. rabbits, squirrels and the occasional cougar or bear. At any time, one critter or another will stroll through and check out our guests. We don't have a view of the river but it's nearby and our meadows and mountains offer a peaceful scene all its own. Camp surrounded by Old Growth Cedars and towering Grand Fir, stargaze by night, enjoy a campfire, smores and time with your family, Our peace includes little to no cellular service and don't offer internet or satellite tv. Feels like we're in the country but we live on a paved county road and only 4 miles from the city of Priest River. Bring your boat for a trip on the Pend Oreille River to Lake Pend Oreille. Launching is a short distance away at the Mud Hole, Priest River City Beach or Riley Creek Campground. Try your hand at fishing for bass, kokanee, perch, northern pike, and trout in the river or on the lake. Wake up in a peaceful woodsy setting where elk, deer, the occasional moose and turkeys roam the property and are often seen in the meadow. Load up your ATV, side by side or motorcycle and head for Priest Lake right from here. It’s a 21 mile (40 minute ride) to Coolin, ID. Enjoy the back county and take some of the IDL roads along the way to explore scenic drainages and in July/August pick some luscious huckleberries (the state fruit of Idaho) for a pancake or milkshake treat. In the fall, a nice central location for hunting camp. Want to go skiing or enjoy the summer lift ride? Head up to Schweitzer Mountain, about an hour drive away (38 miles/65 mins). There was originally a camper parked here with a roof over it while the main house was built back in th 1970s. When the home was finished the camper was moved out and it was turned into the cabin. It originally had a wood stove but it was always to hot so we replaced it with an electric heater and at the same time remodeled the interior. It is very comfortable for two to three people as it only has the bunk beds, microwave, small closet and dining table with 4 chairs including a rocker and a cabinet with pots, pans and silverware for your convenience. Learn more about this land: Country cabin is on the treeline at the base of O'tool mt. across the street from Lk. Roosevelt. Includes bunk beds, frig, microwave, hot plate, coffee pot, toaster, dining table, small closet, firepit with firewood and horseshoe pits with shoes. One mile to boat launch. Ten miles to nearest loaf of bread. Close to logging roads. You will have aprox. one acre to yourself. Quiet and secluded. We are close by if ever there is anything you need. Recently we were very close to the Crown Creek fire and a hotshot crew came and "prept" our property and cut down a lot of the underbrush therefore changing the landscape around the cabin so the main picture has changed to the current one. This is a very private and quiet place, more of a sanctuary and not a party place. The only thing you hear is nature, a breeze through the pine trees, the birds, and the creek. This property was and is an organic permaculture farm in the forest. There are two orchards and an organic garden. The water is from a spring. The La Luna cabin is no longer off grid, but if the power does go out, it's a great place to be.. Hot Showers at my cabins are private and outdoors. There's nothing more wonderful than a hot spring-fed shower. The toilets are composting. (No water is wasted here)! Two of the cabins were built from the trees on the property by the first family that lived here in the earlier 1900s. The Birds Nest cabin was originally a tool shed that needed a LOT of Love to be in the condition that it is today. It does have power, running water and wi-fi. There is the option to take an acrylic painting class, banjo, guitar or fiddle lessons, paddleboard lessons, and have a real old-timey campfire with a glass of wine or two with live music performed by our famous Fiddlin Red on the fiddle, banjo, and guitar. Your experience here may change your life forever! We haven't added all the experiential options yet, so if there is something you are interested in please inquire. Every year we make it more and more magical and interesting. It's four miles up a county-maintained dirt road and one mile to a non-motorized lake. I can't see my neighbors, but they are awesome artists and musicians and some of them are off the grid! If you're bringing a pet, they must be on a leash and be quiet pets. If you are bringing a child they also need to be quiet and respectful. I want to keep my neighbors and my other guests happy with a peaceful atmosphere. Thank you!

Thank goodness for Belle of Glenrose. I loved the very comfortable, clean and lovely accommodations, the outdoor shower and the large porch, g-lamping at its best. The hosts were so kind and accommodating, and I highly recommend the daily breakfasts they made from their farm produce...so nourishing and delicious! We had an amazing stay! The space was very clean and we had everything we needed. Our family loved that we were allowed to roam the land with our dogs and 10 month old. The space is very kid friendly with lots for them to do. Additionally the garden and eggs were available. Lastly the breakfast is a must and a very sweet touch to our stay. We will be back!

The space was perfect. It was quiet, romantic, and a beautiful view of the field/sunset. We had three dogs in that enjoyed it very much. We saw deer in the field in the evening and enjoyed a walk around the property. Only suggestion would be to be to possibly fence in the patio all the way so we could let the dogs out and not leashed the entire time but we still had a relaxing oasis.

2 nights at Daisystation

Went on our first camping venture (11yr old and I). Even my kiddo remarked on the beautiful scenery. The cabin was cozy and had a power outlet. We were able to experience our paddleboards for the first time with the water so close. Keep in mind that there is a steep stairway to the dock, but we managed several trips up and down it. You will hear passing traffic with the close road, but we barely noticed with all the fun we had and the scenic greatness! No one occupied the other cabin so we had a lot of space to ourselves. There was a most lovely gal who lived on-site, though. I can't say enough about how wonderful and helpful she was! Oh, and we saw animals and my son was happy to get photos of a stag walking by. Already considering a return visit.

2 nights at Glenrose Flower & Forage Farm

I loved staying here. It is the perfect distance from town so it is 15 minutes away from the grocery store but it feels like you are miles away. We loved the hosts and there garden and land. We enjoyed the yurt and the deck area. We will definitely be staying here again.

Weekend Trip to The Ol' Woodruff Estate

The RV was so comfortable and cozy! Host was very welcoming and communicative and kind. Lots of open quiet space to wander around in. The chickens were so adorable and fun to see! Gym and shower provided! Very well thought out hipcamp and vey thoughtful host!

Weekend Trip to Little Spokane Riverside Retreat

The hostess is WONDERFUL! Very responsive and will bend over backwards to accommodate or help in any way she can. The bunkhouse is adorable and had everything I could possibly need. I know that if I had needed something more, the hostess would provide! The river is literally just down the drive and the setup along the river is perfect! Floating, water shoes, sunscreen, bug spray, shade, fire pit (with a chimney so it’s safe to use!). She even decorated for the 4th! We can’t wait to go back!!

1 night at Wee Place in the Woods

We've been coming here for a few years now and my family and I always have so much fun! The craft table especially is always so much fun and great for kids. Charlon the caretaker of the property is very nice and always makes sure we have everything we could possibly need. Everything is thought of from the shower to the nets around every bed to keep bugs away while sleeping. This campsite promotes creativity and self expression and is the perfect place to unplug and have fun!

Weekend Trip to Wee Place in the Woods

We had the most pleasant stay yet at A Wee Place in the Woods. We did plenty of crafting, fire making, outdoor cooking, walking, and snoozing! We again reserved the Raven’s Nest this year. It’s perfect for our small family and the closest nest to the magically cool outdoor kitchen and adorable bathroom. Yes, it’s adorable 😆 I think all of A Wee Place is aesthetically pleasing. As usual, our host was simply wonderful! 💙
