This is a camping location with ACCESS to the river, access to OUR farm land, ponds and DNR land. Our camp spots are private and not stacked on top of each other. We are about 45 minutes from ocean beaches, only a few minutes from the best riding, hiking and boating in the world. We have a cute bar and restaurant within a mile. Also gas and groceries are close as well. Boat launch is about 1/2 a block easy access.
There is talk about sites at the river, we have some in their premature stage. This is NOT offered through our Hip Camp site!!!!! There are reasons for this: When we initially opened, we allowed people to camp there through Hip Camp and I was getting low stars ratings because Entitled people thought for $28 bucks, they got the whole river to themselves and would fight with other campers. IT JUST GOT TO EXHAUSTING. In the coming years I’m going to try to set up some premium sites on the river and work super hard at getting amenities that will match that price. But for now, Enjoy Camp Hope and the river ACCESS too!! We appreciate the wonderful feedback everyone gives it helps us grow with you!!

We found this beautiful place with spring water to drink and lots of forest land behind our 22 acres, and we have been here 24 years. We are into natural/alternative healthy living and energy healing. We are good stewards of the land and will happily share it with you. We have a little creek that is spring-fed and runs year-round! There are numerous hiking trails, where a person can get a quick 25-30 min exercise going up and down the mountain trails.

Eight years ago I bought this property, cleaned it up and changed an old local 1930s grocery store into my pottery studio. I continue to try to be a good steward to this little piece of land with very big trees. One side faces my studio with drive through access to a bunkhouse and hookups and the other is tent camping with room to explore. With a dog yard available you will be able to relax and enjoy.

The Legend of John Tornow "The Wildman of the Wynooche."
More than a century ago, the forests around Travers Mountain were home to one of Washington’s most mysterious figures, John Tornow, the Wildman of the Wynooche.
Born in 1880, Tornow grew up as a gifted woodsman and hunter. He was known for his uncanny ability to move silently through the timber, living off the land with the skill of someone more animal than man. But his story turned dark after the tragic deaths of his nephews, the Bauer twins, whose family homestead you can still see from our property. Accused of their killings, Tornow fled deep into the wilderness.
For nearly two years, he evaded every search party and posse that hunted him. Locals whispered that he was impossible to track; some even swore he could vanish into the trees like a ghost. He became both feared and respected, remembered as part outlaw, part legend.
The tale ends in 1913, when a massive manhunt cornered Tornow in the woods. Even then, he fought fiercely, leaving his mark on Grays Harbor history forever.
So when you camp here, whether it's under the trees at Tornow’s Timberline, perched high at Outlaw’s Overlook, or gathered by the fire at Wildman’s Saloon Stop, listen closely to the night sounds. Tent camped here off season for a couple days of hunting. Nice campground especially for the price as long as you don’t need a power pole which I don’t. Will camp here again! Especially appreciate the firewood program of wood provided just pay for it with a QR code via PayPal if you didn’t bring your own.

Lovely campsite, river access is a nice walk away. Train tracks run along the back of the campground but wasn’t loud enough for it to be a problem. We would definitely be coming back next year. My only concern was the shooting that was happening off the river bank towards the evening, they left after a while but not something I’d want near us. Bathrooms were located all around the campground and very easy check in.

Wonderful little spot north of Hoquiam! Sandy was very friendly and accommodating . I was the only one there when I went. The spot is near a road but it wasn’t too loud, it was quite peaceful at night!

As always, well kept, beautiful and relaxing camp sites! We've been here several times and absolutely love this place! Its nice having access to the river and stuff 28 bucks a night you cant beat it! Close to town if you forget something but with a far away feel. We will continue coming here for as long as its still available to the public.

We opted in for early arrival, as this was our first time going there. It was easy to get to and entry was also easy. We found a nice, quiet spot away from other guests. There were train tracks very close to us, but the trains went by slowly so it wasn’t disturbing for us at all. There is also an area down the road that was some sort of shooting area. That did not disturb us either. The porta potties were clean and restocked. All in all, we had a wonderful time. We will be back in the future. Thank you for our pleasant stay!

We loved this two night stay. The camp sites are between the train tracks and the river, and seeing the train go by a few times was fun. There’s so much thick forest growth and tons of old apple trees, mossy branches and it just feels kind of magical. There weren’t many other people in the campground so it was super quiet and we noticed there’s a good amount of space between spots. The river was so nice too - good wading and slow enough to not worry too much about the dog playing too.
