Over 100 years ago, this property was logged of all of it's old growth conifers. Well, things have been growing here ever since. There are many old growth stumps dotted around the property; many acting as "nurse or Mother logs" to new growth. We have been here for 30 years & have select logged keeping the integrity of the property in tact. These trees know they are loved and honored. They are happy & it shows. You feel the vibe a soon as you drive up. Since then we have blazed trails & carved out campsites & campgrounds throughout. All of them resembling nature's little carved out "rooms." We have enjoyed this property for these past 33 years. We have shared it with family & friends time & time again. There is so much love & positive energy breathing within these boundaries. I have been very fortunate to have been able to share this place. Now, thanks to Hipcamp, I can share it with you & your family & friends. Let Mother Earth's Pocket host your next family camping trip. Looking forward to it. We'll leave the light on for y'all!!

My 30 acre farm has two campsites, (they are not close to each other) both allow pets and campfires (outside of burn bans). One campsite is a beach on the North Fork Stilly, it is shaded most of the time, the sun lovers can paddle with their kayak or wade across to sunbath on an island across the river. tent campers can locate their car or truck on dike and move their supplies on to camping area.. trucks with campers can set up right on dike over looking the stilly. Rigs can set up in the field by the dike!! the outhouse is back for the season!!! The second campsite is on 4 acres you will have to yourself by a creek; Rhodes River Ranch Restaurant is walking distance away to go enjoy dinner; the Whitehorse trail for biking or walking is only a mile away; Enjoy the view of Whitehorse and three fingers mountain. Lake Cavanaugh is nearby, and regional activities include biking, boating, fishing, hiking, , paddling, wind sports, and off-roading. Our guests love staying with us: "Our stay at River Side was wonderful! The campsite is very large, with a picnic table and great little beach area. If you're looking for a nice and easy get-away from the city, especially for larger groups, this is the perfect place! Rhonda is very communicative and a great host. Nestled near Arlington, our 75-acre property spans both new and old forest, featuring a salmon-filled creek and a vibrant beaver pond—all set against the dramatic backdrop of a 1,200-foot sheer cliff crowned with old-growth trees. Since its purchase in 1958 as a family retreat, this land has grown into much more than a getaway. It has become a place for relaxation, adventure, and connection with nature—a private forest for family and friends to enjoy. Over the years, the family has adopted forest stewardship and sustainable timber harvesting practices, while also developing campsites, trails, hosting rock concerts, and even producing wine. What began as a simple escape has evolved into something extraordinary: a tree farm that successfully balances nearly every goal a forest landowner could imagine—timber production, wildlife habitat, natural beauty, recreation, and forest resilience. Valhalla embodies all of this with a harmony so seamless, it feels effortless.

We are situated on 15 beautiful acres of open field, forested walking trails and the lovely Samish River. You’ll have your choice of 4 large perfectly dedicated sites ready for your time away from home and outdoor enjoyment. ‘Wildlife Acres Ln’ rings true to the scene; bunnies, birds and families of deer feel right at home in our field. Our trails are awesome. I’d highly recommend good shoes/hiking boots and maybe even hiking poles or a walking stick for the two steep areas. Note; the trail down to the river is steep, but so worth the venture 💦 Delicious drinking water is available on site. A large ss sink is situated right next to the garden. No hot water is available, but you can always heat some on your cook stove. I will have garden and farm fresh seasonal eggs, berries and veggies for purchase in the cooler near the sink for anything you may have forgotten or would like to enjoy for your evening meals or breakfast. Skagit Valley is such a beautiful area with so much to explore in every direction. We have a lot of visitors that just want to escape the city for a moment and relax in nature under a big beautiful starlit sky. We also have outdoor enthusiasts that come for specific destinations such as Mount Galbraith, many different hiking trails, bird watching just past the adorable little towns of Bow and Edison, Deception Pass, scenic Chuckanut drive bringing you to the fun and happening city of Bellingham. Skagit Speedway is popular for many (you’ll hear some Vroom Vrooms and fireworks my camper friends as we are just a couple miles from that kind of fun). I highly recommend trying true, LOCAL food from North 40 Farm Store which is 10 minutes down the way located off F&S Grade Road where you can find natural grass fed Black Angus beef, pork, milk, eggs, bread and more! Experience the difference. A little starter bundle of firewood will be provided for each site and more available for purchase if you won’t be bringing your own and would rather not purchase from a gas station. Doggies are most definitely welcome.😊 Very Important–We have free range ducks and other animals that must NOT be chased. Off-leash doggies are welcome on the walking trails and down at the river only. 'Close calls' are no fun for anyone and we've had them. Enjoy your stay!

This land has passed through many families but was first "managed" by Salish Indians who burned the prairie and harvested native plants for food, medicine, clothing, charms and more for 10,000 years. When European settlers arrived in the 1850s, burning the prairie all but ceased and that, along with the introduction of many new exotic species of animals, crop plants and weeds, began the degradation of the landscape. Over time our site was used to graze sheep and then raise pheasants (from 1944-1999). It was slated for housing development but several citizens rose up and prevented that from happening. Now the Pacific Rim Institute, a private nonprofit organization is the steward of this precious jewel of central Whidbey and the Pacific Northwest. We have a five-acre remnant prairie with over 80 species of native plants - critical to the restoration of degraded lands throughout the Salish Sea region. We have over two miles of walking trails for you. They traverse our prairie, savannas and forests. The land is full of color when the native wildflowers bloom from early spring through early autumn. We have a Native Plant Center where we grow up to 50 species of rare native plants. Ask us for a tour.

Nestled in Greenbank, Washington, Fern Gully, is an old horse farm that has been transformed into a Hip Camp. We’re delighted to welcome you back to our farm in 2025! We have installed new signage to facilitate site identification. Many of you were familiar with my sister, Morgan. She has recently relocated to Texas. My name is Erin. My boyfriend, Dave, and I reside in the farmhouse. My mother, Lauren, also makes her home here. We have discovered several exceptional camping spots on our 15-acre property. Immerse yourself in the tranquility of the forest or lounge in our stargazing hammock circle. During the summer months, from July to September, our farm will be ablaze with seasonal fruit, including blackberries, cherries, apples, and salmonberries. Our expansive fields and wooded surroundings are also home to a diverse array of wildlife, such as bald eagles, red-tailed hawks, barn swallows, quail, and their offspring. Deer and occasional coyotes roam the property, but rest assured, they are apprehensive of us and pose no threat. We derive great pleasure from spending time outdoors, so you may frequently observe us engaged in fieldwork, construction, or simply relaxing in our stargazing hammock circle. We are always available to provide you with space or invite you to join us. We derive immense satisfaction from meeting new individuals and have numerous recommendations for Whidbey Island, including the delectable blueberry stand in Freeland and the Mutiny Bay Blues, a venue that we can either recommend or provide directions to. We eagerly anticipate your visit. Fern Gully is conveniently located just a two-minute drive from the charming Greenbank Pantry. Where you can indulge in delectable sandwiches and quench your thirst with refreshing Topo Chico or a bottle of wine. For a scenic excursion, venture to South Whidbey State Park, a six-minute drive away. Where you can embark on exhilarating hiking trails along the breathtaking coastline. Lagoon Point County Park, a mere five-minute drive from Fern Gully, presents an ideal destination for fishing and whale watching. You will likely see wildlife like eagles (nest nearby), deer, geese, ducks, birds and of course clear, starry night, skies. *This is a working farm so while often you will have the property to yourself and other campers the owners may be present, occasionally, to work on farm projects and property maintenance in the periphery. We will always be respectful or your space and keep our projects to reasonable hours. There is a gas station, coffee shop, public beach, over 21 restaurant/bar and small store within walking distance from the property too.

Thanks for sharing your space with us!"

Greenbank Farm, a consistently exceptional destination, is conveniently accessible via a four-minute drive along Washington State Highway 525.
