Our private Campground is centrally located on the Olympic Peninsula.
We are a Campground, we are not a Hip Camp, we just advertise through them. Paying for extra days or rentals, wood, propane fire-pits, are done at pay station at Campground or by calling the office.
We have 21 tent sites on the West side of Pavel Road close to the river. 13 are river view sites. We have 15 tent sites and most are bigger tent sites, ones that are big enough for a RV on the East side of Pavel Road, Use our website dawleysrivercamping.com for details.
We have beautiful woods with trees, ferns, moss, and the Sol Duc River runs adjacent to our property. Beautiful views of the Sol Duc River from some of the sites and a short walk to the right of the parking lot to the Fish Hatchery, stay to the right there will be a boat launch and beach to fish and play.
Just a 20-minute drive to the Pacific Ocean and a 20-minute drive to the straits of Juan de Fuca.
Just a one-hour drive from our site to Cape Flattery, short hike down to a rocky viewpoint overlooking the Pacific Ocean and Tatoosh Island, which is the farthest NW Point in the Continental US!
We have sites with beautiful river views, 9 walk-in sites, and 12 drive-up sites. 4 of the walk-in sites are river views 4, 5, 6 and 8. The drive-in sites with river views are 10, 11, 12, 13, 17, 18, 20, and 21.
There are more sites on the other part of the Campground.
The Fish Hatchery is right next door and has a boat launch, beach, and lots of fishing.
The river at the Hatchery is great to float on, fish, and just play.

Merriman Creek is nestled under a canopy of old growth Maple Trees next to our Nightly Rental, The River's Edge, on the South Shore of Lake Quinault.
At the request of our nightly rental customers, we have added secluded dry camping sites for our guests and for those wanting to enjoy the Lake Quinault area. Due to USFS Campground closures and high demand, we are happy to provide a place for campers to spend a night or two as they enjoy Lake Quinault. The Hipcamp location is approx 100 yards away from our Rental House and it is secluded and provided. Preferably this is a walk-in tent site Hipcamp, but if the weather is dry, you may drive in with your car or camper van. Please be mindful of other campers as this is an open field nestled under old growth Maple Trees. Quiet Hours and respectful camping etiquette should be followed.
We have a communal fire pit in the middle of the 3 acre parcel, 7 sites in total and a clean and new Porta-Potty toilet. There is no water on site so please bring your own water. You may also bring your own portable propane fire pit should you wish not to use the communal fire pit. We hope this description helps!
Site 1 is best suited for a camper van. Everyone must pass by this site to get to the other sites. SIte 1 is also closest to the Porta Potty.
Site 5 and 6 are in the very back of the property and might be best if you are camping with another family. Site 7 is closest to the fire pit.
One tent per space please. You are welcome to message the Host for any questions, we are very accommodating and can also help you plan your trip and advise on things to do. We also have a brand new cabin 1/2 mile up the Valley from our Merriman Creek Hipcamp that also can be rented through the Hipcamp Platform.

I will definitely rent the camp site again. The first night we were there I didn't realize my daughter had grabbed the wrong tent. She grabbed a beach tent. The first night was a little rough for us. The next day we went out exploring. When we came back our tent was covered with a pop up cover. I'm so grateful for that.

I have stayed at this HipCamp in the past and liked it so much I decided to come back. The sites themselves offer the basics: table, chairs, fire pit, tent spot. But the best parts of this campground are the outdoor kitchens, outdoor game area, and all of the wooden gnomes to find. I would come back here for another stay!

This place is such a gem! Beautifully maintained, quiet, and great location to Sol Duc hot springs and Olympic National Park. Logan was super responsive with any questions I had. The campground is super charming with lots of wooden statues and string lights around. Bonus that there are bathrooms and a shower! Can’t wait to return next summer.

Really cool space. I stayed in camp 0. While folks with mobility issues may struggle a bit with being up hill, I didn't find it to be an issue at all and the cheaper price meant I could stay longer. That being said, all the sites looked great. The kitchen was so nice for breakfast and to cook up the mushrooms I foraged nearby. Eventually the shower curtain will need to be changed but that hot shower in a cold night was amazing. Super close to so many things. I'll definitely be coming back.

The campgrounds were amazing!! the setting was beautiful and the directions were on point!! Everything listed was there: kitchen, kitchenware, running hot water for bathrooms, functional toilets in restrooms. Though the tent had a heater, it didn't do a great job, but thank goodness for blankets! (bring your own sleeping bag if you'd like extra comfort and warmth). was a perfect location for my hikes within Olympic; 30-45 mins to Hurricane Ridge and 15 mins from Storm King. I'd surely consider staying here once I plan my Pacific NW road trip!

We had a wonderful time bringing our son to his first camping trip! The place was super chill. The kitchen was great and the property was beautiful. I especially liked the carvings of mushrooms and nomes. It was 3 minutes from lake crescent and maybe 25 minutes to the hot springs. I would go back any time.

A truly magical place. We loved the natural beauty with the unique wood carvings. Love the communal spaces — especially the kitchens. Very close to some gorgeous hikes in the national park, too. Our site was secluded and the whole property is very cool. Its proximity to the Olympic discovery trail is also a bonus. I would note that the drive into the site was easy for us in a rav4, but could be challenging with anything bigger than that. Sites are small but manageable!

Where to go
Olympic National Park
Olympic National Park has 73 miles of coastline to explore, four rainforests with tons of hiking trails, hundreds of lakes, and 4,000 miles of rivers and streams. It’s a backcountry camping paradise—but campers should bring a tarp in case of rain (the park receives 12 feet of rainfall per year). RVers will find campsites with a variety of amenities like fire rings, picnic tables, and hookups for electricity and water. After setting up camp, spend the day traversing the trail from Rialto Beach to Hole-in-the-Wall to check out the tidal pools bursting with underwater life.
Lake Ozette
Get a waterfront view when camping year-round at Lake Ozette, a 45-minute drive from La Push. Most campgrounds found here are rustic, with pit toilets and potable water but no hookups. Go whale watching from one of the boardwalk trails that heads toward the coast, or follow another trail to Sand Point to view 54 ancient petroglyphs. Then kayak the lake and explore three small islands—Tivoli, Garden Island, and Baby Island. Ozette Lake is teeming with fish and is also home to a boat-in campground so anglers can wake up on the water.
Sol Duc Valley
East of La Push, Sol Duc Valley delivers lush, old-growth rainforests and iconic fishing. For hiking, hit up the Sol Duc Falls Trail that weaves throughout the stunning landscape toward a pounding 48-foot high waterfall. Anglers should check out Sol Duc River for year-round fishing for salmon, steelhead, and trout. Then, pay a visit to Sol Duc Hot Springs, where three mineral pools warmed by volcanic rocks create a soothing spot to relax. Shoreline campsites dot the river and offer services for both tents and RVs, with amenities ranging from picnic tables and firepits to restrooms and potable water taps.
When to go
La Push has an oceanic climate with warm summers and rainy winters. The mild temperatures make camping year-round appealing. August is the warmest month and a great time for ocean swimming, while November through January see the most rainfall. If chasing waterfalls is on the agenda, the best time to see them is in April and May, when the snowpack is melting.
