Almost unlimited access to the best features the PNW has to offer: Approximately a 45 minute drive to the Gifford Pinchot National Forest and the Mount St. Helens Windy Ridge interpretive site, a 45 minute drive to White Pass Ski Resort, and 1 hour drive to the Paradise entrance of Mt. Rainier National Park. The small, quaint town of Packwood, WA, with restaurant, brewery, bar, cafe, and its very own gold mining shop is a quick 10-15 minute drive away.Peak season (mid-May through mid-September) rates are $75/night for the use of one hookup site. For summer and holiday weekends we have a 3 night minimum stay. Weekday discount.Non-peak season (mid-September through mid-May) rates are $60/night for the use of one hookup site.Each additional hookup is $25 per night. Pleasant Places campground is clean, quiet, spacious, and private with lots of nooks for R&R as well as ample space for play and activities. It is an ideal location for large groups, family reunions, workshops, or what have you. A rustic kitchen, two 6' dining tables, and a fire pit with accessories make setting up camp a cinch. Centrally located and with 10 acres of field, forest, and farm there is something of interest for everyone here. If you're looking to explore the area a bit, Mt Rainier, Mt St Helens, the East Side, and the Pacific Coast are all just day trips from here. In addition, we are midway between Portland and Seattle and just 15 minutes off of I-5 making Pleasant Places a perfect 'meet in the middle' location. Locally, lakes Mayfield, Ike Kinswa, and Riffe provide lots of boating, swimming, and fishing opportunities. Just five minutes away, Carlisle Lake offers walking trails, outdoor exercise equipment, fishing opportunities, summer concerts, and a playground for the kids. At camp. you can pick a deer trail and walk through a budding new forest or pick a bunch of wild blackberries, apples, mushrooms, or flowers. Enjoy communing with our goat, rabbit, turkey, chicken, and duck friends. Other animals include deer, skunk, coyote, and possum—bear and cat are not common, but please do be conscientious about leaving food out. While the campsite, play space, and driveway loops are mowed, most of the grounds are wild so bring your tromping shoes. We also have a playfield (with a net) so pack your movie screen, volleyball, soccer ball, bicycles or lawn darts too. Snail's Pace Camp

The property has served as a "family get-away" and restorative spot for years and continues to be such since our acquisition a few years ago. This campsite is quite secluded and peaceful. Please observe the rules that are intended to keep it pristine. There are references to the steep driveway in the reviews. In winter of 2024 a modification was made to the driveway making it accessible to 2wd vehicles. A locked cabin (work in progress) has a large covered porch overlooking the Coweeman River that is available for campers, complete with chairs and picnic table. The porch railing will not withstand leaning against or using as a footrest; thanks. The camp has a pit toilet and we are asking guests to extend its life by only putting poop and pee in it. Please burn your TP or take it out with your trash. There is a fire ring and a tub of firewood available (and refillable) on site for $10. Payment is through Venmo when you return to the electronic world. If you bring your own wood keep maximum length to 20" to keep fire/ash within ring. Wood gathering is not permitted. Please respect the trees; no carving, supporting hammocks, nails. There is a picnic table and chairs at the fire ring. Glass (bottles or glasses) are not permitted anywhere close to the riverbank as the risk of broken glass on bare feet is not worth the risk. Firearms and shooting are not allowed at our campsite, nor are fireworks. The country road, which is very lightly travelled, follows the river and is a wonderful 'trail' for bikes and hikes. Weyerhaeuser Timber Company owns the the vast tree farm in this area and requires a permit to access their land but we hike there (accessed just across the road) frequently and never see anyone. The river runs clean and pristine. Though not deep enough for swimming, it provides for a refreshing dip on a hot summer's day. It can be used for washing and bathing, and could be filtered/treated for drinking. A garden hydrant provides river water to the camping area, but use the 200 gallon source sparingly as I only fill it occasionally. There is no other water source on the lot. The next driveway upstream is also available to explore as it is a campsite under construction. There is a deeper swimming hole at this site that you are welcome to use. An inner tube will float you back down to the cabin spot. Moving rocks in the river (building dams, structures) interferes with the nature processes of waterways and fish spawning/habitat and should be avoided. Caution: The river rocks are very slick (think 'ice'). Use care when walking on wet rocks! Flotation vests are strongly recommended for kiddos. Feel free to explore the property but please be aware the stinging nettles and other various pokey vegetation exist in the woods. The setting is most private, the river lovely. This setting is wonderful for a quiet family getaway in the woods; it is not 'party' appropriate. Non digging, well mannered dogs are welcome (maximum 2) as long as their responsible owners clean up after them. Don't forget to bring drinking water, toilet paper (none is provided), fire starter (though our firewood is seasoned, dry and easy to ignite), headlamp, roasting sticks for them s'mores, water shoes and tromping shoes. The closest store for supplies is 11 miles (20ish minutes) down Rose Valley Road, a small country market with basics, and fuel. Disregard Hipcamp's statement that the camp is close to Seaquest State Park and Paradise Point State Park........they are both about 45 minutes away. Clarification on pricing. The base fee of $60 for weekends and holidays is discounted 20% ($48) for weekdays and is for 4 people. Additional guests are $10 per night, maximum 8 campers total. Cell coverage is nonexistent/weak, depending on carrier. Please plan accordingly and enjoy your time away from digital distractions. Enjoy!

There are sometime burn bans for air quality and/or high fire danger. Relax by the River

We have a 1/2 acre property on the Cowlitz River in the middle of Cooks Ferry Park in Castle Rock WA. We bought the property to relax in a beautiful setting close to home. We only live 15 minutes away. The property is made up of dredge spoils from when Mt. Saint Helens blew and is inside of a park where people can go to fish and enjoy the river. There are only 8 lots privately owned and we are the first lot that you come to. There is plenty of room for an RV. Guests can also tent camp or stay in our shack that has a sleeper sofa. There are snacks, a sign in book, an axe, briquets, a fire extinguisher, and other items the shack. There is a picnic table, fire pit, BBQ, and wood stove. There is a porta potty on the property. We keep our travel trailer there to enjoy when we can. We will try our best to not be there when you are staying at the property but if you book less than 1 week in advance, we may be there. In summer, we may be kayaking. We put in upriver and get out at the property. If that is a problem, please message me before you book. If you continue going past our property, there are some nice rock beaches with pretty views. People fish there and wade in the water in the summer. Castle Rock is a cute little town with some nice shops, restaurants and bars. I recommend checking it out! We are not picky about check in/check out time. It would only matter if someone else was checking in the day you are checking out. Please ask if you expect to arrive earlier or want to check out later. If your plans change, please cancel through Hipcamp to get a refund.

The cots fit in the tent with the beds too, so there is plenty of room for all four.** Our beautiful camping spot offers serene privacy and many comforts. You will feel very secluded on our 5 acre property. Our parcel is partially wooded and partially cleared for our flower farm. But it adjoins neighboring properties that have an additional 20+ acres that are totally wooded giving the feeling of being further away from civilization than you are. In addition to the safari tent there is another flat and wood-chipped pad for an additional tent for your buddies or children to have their own space. Enjoy an outdoor shower on the edge of the woods with on-demand hot water. You’ll also have your own custom made steel fire pit with fire wood available for purchase (or you can bring your own). We have an outdoor picnic table as well as a table inside the tent for late night card games. We may have the prettiest outhouse on Hipcamp! There's a lovely little bathroom with a composting toilet and a sink with running water. We allow up to 6 people (no pets) and request that parties respect the limit so that our composting toilet can keep up with the demand with minimal servicing while you are here (to maintain your privacy). Feel free to walk and enjoy the flower field on a self guided tour, but if you’d like more information about the flowers and how they are grown, or if you’d like to pick flowers, please contact us to set up a time for a guided tour and help picking. Please no U-pick without guidance. We’d like to make sure to point out that there is convenient and dedicated parking for campers but the camping spot is about 200 feet from the parking area and over uneven ground. A cart is provided for unpacking your vehicle. Because it is very dark here at night, we would request that campers arrive before dark to safely find their way and unload with adequate light. We have two very friendly dogs, a farm cats, so we are not allowing pets to come camp at this time. Legit service dogs are welcome though. Things to bring: cooking gear, flashlights/headlamps, food, drinking water, ice, cooler, battery operated stuff (no power provided), towels for shower. Things provided: Weather proof tent, two queen sized beds and bed linens, outdoor and indoor tables chairs, solar-powered lights, composting toilet, firepit, outdoor shower with hot water, parking for 2 cars. Local Activities: Bring your kayaks and SUP boards to the Olalla boat launch for a paddle in the lagoon or walk along the beautiful beach. Other animals include deer, skunk, coyote, and possum—bear and cat are not common, but please do be conscientious about leaving food out. While the campsite, play space, and driveway loops are mowed, most of the grounds are wild so bring your tromping shoes. We also have a playfield (with a net) so pack your movie screen, volleyball, soccer ball, bicycles or lawn darts too. Glencove pasture and forest trails

The place has been farmland since about 1926. It became a family horse property with three pastures and now is a small lavender and blackberry farm. While it is limited to one RV site, there may be farm visitors walking arond the area. Tall cedars and fir remain in the back of the property and provide for a forest experience. It is not a commercial campground. We are now turning a small lavender farm. About half of th original pasture is now covered in black ground mat and 3,000 newly planted lavender. Learn more about this land: One acre pasture for dry RV camping (no restroom facilities). There are a potable water/hose bib and auxilliary 110 volt 15 amp AC connection via extension cord from barn. You should rely primarily on your own power. Walking trails in cedar trees and on hill across 10 acres with flower fields and blackberry "farm". Free blackberry picking in season (August and Early September). Deer, racoons, foxes, bald eagles and occassional coyote on site. Keep food and trash secure. No toilet or sewer available. There is one portable "porta potty" type facility. Dry camping only, no camp fires allowed due to fire conditions. Pack out own trash/garbage. No Pets allowed. Only visible neighbors are three horses on neigboring 10 acre farm property. There is Wi-Fi. Beach access has been closed for the Winter.

Bring folding lawn chairs and sit a spell along the river's edge on a hot summer day. The north side of the Carbon River is lined with an extensive trail system (an unpaved section of the Foothills Rails to Trails) which parallels the river while winding through lush forest, mostly shaded, the temperature can be 10 degrees cooler here on a hot day. Our site features a clean gravel trail that forks in two directions leading you towards the Campsite and a timber frame Privy. Parking is close by, with easy access from the driveway. Campsite can accommodate up to 2 medium & 1 small tent , includes one 10' x 10' raised tent pad with tarp covering overhead. We provide a kindling kit and 1 large crate (12+ pieces) of dry hand-chopped firewood with each booking, additional firewood crates are available for $10 each. A covered sink station with hand pump is close by, providing fresh, non-potable well water. We have our campsite listed to accommodate 4 Adult guests, additional Adult guests are $5 each, up to 6 guests total. *Families with children are welcome and will pay daily fee with no additional charge.

Relax by the River

We have a 1/2 acre property on the Cowlitz River in the middle of Cooks Ferry Park in Castle Rock WA. We bought the property to relax in a beautiful setting close to home. We only live 15 minutes away. The property is made up of dredge spoils from when Mt. Saint Helens blew and is inside of a park where people can go to fish and enjoy the river. There are only 8 lots privately owned and we are the first lot that you come to. There is plenty of room for an RV. Guests can also tent camp or stay in our shack that has a sleeper sofa. There are snacks, a sign in book, an axe, briquets, a fire extinguisher, and other items the shack. There is a picnic table, fire pit, BBQ, and wood stove. There is a porta potty on the property. We keep our travel trailer there to enjoy when we can. We will try our best to not be there when you are staying at the property but if you book less than 1 week in advance, we may be there. In summer, we may be kayaking. We put in upriver and get out at the property. If that is a problem, please message me before you book. If you continue going past our property, there are some nice rock beaches with pretty views. People fish there and wade in the water in the summer. Castle Rock is a cute little town with some nice shops, restaurants and bars. I recommend checking it out! We are not picky about check in/check out time. It would only matter if someone else was checking in the day you are checking out. Please ask if you expect to arrive earlier or want to check out later.
