The moment you walk around this property you feel calm and safe. I would recommend any of their dwellings to stay in. I've stayed in the cob house and the dome tent and had an luxious and relaxing experience each time. I love celebrating my big events like my birthday and anniversary here and loved connecting with other awesome campers in the communal areas.

Staying at Whimsical Loft Studio feels like crashing at a cool friend’s place—comfortable, inviting, and full of fun, creative energy. It’s as cool as it looks, but not in a staged way—you can tell interesting people live here. The hobby and craft supplies add charm, and the sound of rain on the metal roof made for the best sleep I’ve had in years. The host is communicative, responsive, and generous.

The was a great place to come even for a rainy March getaway. It would be fantastic in nicer weather when one could have fun playing on or in the river. We saw all kinds of critters, including many, many birds. The host was super, very helpful and kind. The common area was well stocked with the things we forgot to bring. We will be back!

I was in desperate need of some solitude and nature and staying at Trish's beautifully restored and perfectly applied trailer, on her gorgeous property was perfection. Trish was kind, responsive and thoughtful. The time by the river was so peaceful and healing. Hands down the best experience I've had through the service as well as Airbnb and VRBO.

Weekend Trip to Batwater Station on Columbia River

Another spontaneous trip to be next to a body of water, this time is the Columbia river. Just wow! Such an amazing property Karin has, she is very responsive, friendly and overall a star host. Thanks so much for letting us immerse in nature in your beautifully maintained paradise. We’ve had a lot of animal sounds, from different birds singing, frogs chatting to howling coyotes or (maybe wolves) we dont know. We loved the outhouse with complete kitchen facilities, toilet and bathroom, that is heated! Campsites and other forms of accommodation (yurt, cabin & boathouse) were distant from each other and we felt our spot was private even though it’s in the roadway. We really loved our stay here, with the amazing sounds of nature, serenity and the views were truly outstanding! We’d love to come back.

Nice spot with easy access from I-5 and options for RV or tent or car campers. The hosts are friendly and they make a point to meet you and let you know the layout. There’s an outside bathroom with shower right below the tree fort. The property is very close to the Ridgefield National Wildlife Refuge so I spent one day over there and saw almost 40 different species of birds.

“Flederhaus” the 12’x12’ sleeping quarters is on the Columbia River and has easy access.

We had a wonderful time during our stay at Ayni Acres. The property is absolutely stunning and the amenities were comfortable and had everything we needed for our stay. We stayed in the COB house but had a chance to look at the other options, which all carried their own charm. Damian was welcoming and you can tell how much love he has put into this property. He gave us a tour when we first arrived and made sure we had everything we needed during our stay. The forrest spas were amazing and just what we needed to relax and reset with nature as our backdrop. The property was well maintained, the restrooms were clean, and we loved the idea of a communal space. It was also easy to navigate at night with the well lit walkways. We will definitely be back!

A truly special way to experience life along the river, the Houseboat is beautifully designed, artfully decorated and thoughtfully equipped throughout. We loved getting to watch the wildlife all around us while also enjoying the luxuries of a big comfy bed, fast WIFI and space for remote work, and everything you could need to cook a great meal and feel at home. Very cool hosts and history about the area! Karin and Michael are lovely folks -- proactive, kind, responsive and helped us with any issues that popped up. Highly recommend!

We felt very safe and welcomed on the property. The hosts heated the rooms, hot tub and sauna before we arrived. The hot tub, sauna, main kitchen/living, bathrooms and cob house were amazing! Everything was clean, well thought out, accessible and felt very luxurious for a glamping experience. We quickly realized that one night was not enough to fully enjoy all this property has to offer and can't wait to book a whole weekend here.

We loved camping at Bat water station. They had a nice trail to walk and our camp site was right next to the river. The bathroom was very warm and clean. The kitchen was also well stocked and heated so we cooked our breakfast in the kitchen. It was very mice gor them to offer us free eggs. The owner was very kind and generous. It was freezing cold and they offered us to watch TV in the heated yurt. It was obvious that the owner cared about our safety and comfort more than anything. The owners’ thoughtful hospitality made me want to come back. Thank you Karin! We appreciate your kindness and generosity. We will be back !

Secluded private site centrally located just a mile from Interstate 5, and 6 miles from the Interstate 5 / Hwy 205 intersection so most places in Clark County are less that 20 minutes away. Located 10 minutes from ilani Casino, 5 minutes from the Clark County Fairgrounds and amphitheater, and less than 30 minutes from some of the nicest freshwater lakes around. Hosts are avid Flyboarders, Jetskiers, Paraglider Pilots, and Stuart has been climbing since the late 1900's (1974 and up... back in the era where if it couldn't be nailed it couldn't be climbed). This is a secluded, Park Like property with walking trails all the way around it, and some interesting things for kids to spot, especially up Fairy Lane. Walking access is permitted, but you must keep pets on leash and keep an eye on your kids. In the dry season, typically May through the end of September, fires are not allowed, and plese USE EXTREME CAUTION IF YOU CHOOSE TO SMOKE ONSITE. If you are one of those who just tosses your butts in the underbrush, you will be asked to leave for the safety of our property and guests. There is no smoking allowed inside the cabin, bathroom, or anywhere near the sawmill, or any area North of it. There is an active sawmill onsite IES-Sawmill.com. People are welcome to visit, but equipment has the right of way and may not see you. Please avoid the log decks, and especially don't allow children to play on them, as logs can roll at any time. Some of the equipment is big, heavy, and doesn't have the greatest visibility if people walk up un-noticed. Always ensure that the operator sees you, and don't place yourself anywhere where a log that comes loose could run you down. Operating Equipment always has the right of way. There is a climbing wall on the North side of the machine shop. If you are an experienced climber with a partner to belay you can the appropriatte gear, you are welcome to use the wall, please let us know first. If the hosts have time, you may be able to convince them to give you a lesson. We are changing the anchors on our ziplines, so they are not available for use at this time. There is a public bathroom in the middle of the property beside the tree fort. It's well lit and open 24 hours a day. It has a flush toilet and a cold water sink and COLD water shower. The water comes out of the ground year round at about 60 degrees so it's a chilly shower. If you need a hot shower, renting the cabin is your best bet as it comes with a private bath that has a hot shower. We try to keep rules to a minimum, but people seem to find creative ways to cause issues. Please park outside the yellow gate in the parking areas noted on the map. Please park on gravel and DON'T DRIVE OFF THE GRAVEL ROADS ONTO THE GRASS. Anita hates it, as you can cause a fire in the summer, and leave muddy ruts in the wet seasons. If you're driving through the trees, you're doing something wrong. There is plenty of wildlife on the property especially in the couple hours before dark. Half of our acreage is across the river-summertime is a great time to cross and explore! You can even walk up river and tube down. 1,000 feet of riverfront, a pond, horse shoe pit, charcoal grill, and 3 different fire pits for you to explore. If you rent the trailer and are over 6'1 you wont be a happy camper! You will enjoy bugs, snakes, spiders, deer, otters, beavers, mice, bees, chickens (including a loud rooster name Jack) We live on the neighboring property, but respect your privacy. We look forward to sharing our space with you! There is a pond and river with a slippery bank full of rocks on this property. The river is a short 5 minute walk. Tennis shoes/river shoes highly advised. Please note we are 10 miles from the nearest food/gas services. Please plan accordingly. Cell service is best with AT&T, but we do have WIFI. Well house is open and has some outside games, a couple of life jackets, cooler, and misc things for you to use. Please leave the light on.

Batwater Station on Columbia River

Batwater Station is located halfway between Portland and the Oregon Coast on the Columbia River. A private refuge where river otter, beaver, mink, muskrat, seals, raccoons along with threatened Columbia river white tailed deer can be seen. Property has 1,000 feet of boat docks, river deck, and pier. At the pier is a full kitchen, heated bathroom and shower room. Included are 2 outhouses, a fire pit for summer months, a viewing station overlooking the wetlands along with brick charcoal fired barbecue and another propane barbecue. We are committed to your privacy so guests are limited and spread out. High speed internet through out the property. Batwater worked with several agencies when we breeched a levee and flooded 26 acres for salmon and wildlife habitat. Hike along the wetlands and see beaver dams and dens. Batwater is also home for many types of birds including eagles, osprey, tree swallow, purple martins, barn swallows, wood ducks, common and hooded mergansers, mallards, scoots, scaups, grebes, cormorants, great egrets, blue herons, geese and many types of song birds . In the spring and summer see our returning osprey who have. nested on our dock since 2013. There are now 2 osprey platform since a pair of Canada geese choose that as their nesting site as well. Some bald eagles winter here but we have our resident bald eagles Hep and Hope. They arrived in 2003 to start their nest on Crims Island. They still nest there although there old nest tree collapsed in 2020. Many birds migrate here for the winter. Common mammals are river otter, mink, muskrat, raccoons, nutria, coyotes, black tailed and threatened Colombia White Tailed deer. We also are home to native turtles and frogs. Batwater is a working farm with cattle feeding on lush pastures, 2 retired horses and chickens. When eggs are available, we will share some with you. Batwater is a great place to kayak, canoe, paddle board or row during the summer months. We have windy afternoons for windsurfers or sailors. The Columbia River is well known for salmon, and sturgeon. For an extra fee you can moor your larger boat while visiting. There are a volley ball and badminton set ups along with horse shoes during the summer months. We suggest swimming during the summer months when the tide is coming in or slack. You can also walk or drive down to Mayger beach which is popular with locals. There are sandy beaches on Crims island that you can paddle over too. Check out the pictures for more information.

Our camper is new, safely located next to the house with tall fences and shrubbery. Absolute privacy. Beautiful backyard and hot tub access in the spring located near St. John’s in Portland, Oregon. There are many restaurants, hikes, breweries, coffee, shops, located nearby. We are located a half a block away from the historic Columbia Park. The park has a Pickleball court, baseball field and lovely walks. The neighborhood is safe and we have free parking. We feature free Wi-Fi. The Camper has heating and AC. The bathroom is small, but it’s hooked up to the city sewage. We are pretty quiet here:) there are food carts nearby!
