The most amazing and most peaceful camp I’ve been to so far . Kathryn was a great hosts , their farm is amazing scenic , from the hiking trails , to the mushroom land , imagination station it was just phenomenal. I plan on coming back when it warms up and bring the kids next time. Thank you truly. 100/10 recommend 😂. 😍

The drive to the cabin is on gravel and pretty easy to navigate, it’s kept up very well and is a nice place to stay. They have a wood burner that keeps the cabin warm during winter and cheap wood prices which is amazing $8 a night. Definitely coming back for the summer!!!!

Weekend Trip to Hawthorn Hollar
A wonderful little slice of heaven, with amazing hosts! We had the best stay in the little cabin, which had everything one might want for a nature-filled and quiet weekend getaway! Julie made sure we had everything we needed, but also left us to enjoy everything the site had to offer! 10/10, would highly recommend!

My group had a wonderful time camping at the Hummingbird site this weekend! The space was fantastic with plenty of tent space and areas to sit around the fire. We ended up using the grill and picnic table for dinner before roasting smores over the fire. I would 100% recommend.

Absolutely loved our time with Moon and Julie they were such amazing hosts. The place is perfect for what we wanted - to escape and switch off. Our daughters loved running free, playing with the dogs and catching fish. We wish we could have stayed longer and will definitely be back.

It was such a beautiful place to stay. There was plenty of room for tents for our grown children and grandkids. But for us, to have a camper to sleep in at our age was a bonus! Ice and water were added in as requested! The kids loved finding treasures on the hike, and we replaced with treasure we brought! It is clean and just a great family friendly experience.

The site was spectacular. We booked the full site (cabin + tent) and it was very spacious and beautiful. River access was straightforward, though via a short but steep hill. The only downside was the morning trains, as others have mentioned. Both toilet facilities were fine, but the port-a-potty was better. The cabin lighting didn’t work, which wasn’t an issue for our group since we were all tent camping anyway, but something to be aware of if you were in need of it. JJ was very responsive to requests around arrival and departure time.

Excellent site! Well kept and clean. If you like staying next to water, this is the place! Large river front site with more room than you can imagine. We would stay here again in a heartbeat if we are coming back to this area.

We had an amazing time camping in the Enchanted Hidden Cabin! The view was absolutely fantastic, and the cabin itself was perfectly clean. Moon and Julie are such wonderful hosts. So pleasant, kind, and clear with all their instructions. My dog had the best time running around the large field and playing happily with their lovely dogs named Ava and Ruby. My whole family had a fantastic experience. The Gnome Trail was just the cutest! We’re already sure we’ll be coming back!

I enjoyed the privacy of not having other campers around. There were 10 of us all together from toddlers to adults. We did the cabin and tent site combo. We set up 5 tents and were able to spread them out in various areas so everyone had their own space. We did not sleep in the cabin but used it for our food storage area.
Access to the river was not difficult like other reviews stated.
There was no address to punch into our GPS, but instead we had coordinates which took us right to it.
The only negative I can say about this place is there is a train that goes by on the opposite side of the river several times a day and night. However half of my adult kids and my grandkids slept right through it. I am a very light sleeper and was not fortunate enough to sleep through it. During the day, the kids enjoyed hearing the train and ”chooing” along with it.
I greatly enjoyed having my early morning coffee and just watching the river as the kids and grandkids slept in.
We all had a good time fishing, swimming, tubing, and just hanging out by the fire pit.

We loved the little cabin!! It has a nice fire pit and big area outside for kids and dogs to play! The pond was a perfect addition. The hosts were SO nice! It was my birthday and she even gave me a small gift! We loved our stay and will be back!

Weekend Trip to Warren Ferry Landing
This was a beautiful cabin right on the James River. The cabin had no electricity and very little cell signal which made for a perfect weekend away. It was very peaceful and has a covered porch that made the perfect place to relax especially with evening rain storms.

🌲 Great private camping spot with a pleasant vibe! 🌲
We really enjoyed our stay at this campsite. The location felt private and peaceful — perfect for relaxing and getting away from it all. The environment was lovely, surrounded by nature and very quiet, which made it easy to unwind.
The bathrooms were clean and well-kept, which we appreciated; the only small downside was that they weren’t right next to our campsite, so it took a short walk.
Overall, it was a great experience, and I’d definitely recommend it if you’re looking for a quiet, comfortable place to camp! 🌿⛺✨
