Only 30 minutes away from Charlottesville world's famous Carter's Mountain orchard, and Thomas Jefferson's Monticello mansion. Our studio garage apartment is located at the base of the Blue Ridge Mountains outside of Crozet, Virginia in what is known locally as Sugar Hollow. Our property adjoins both the Moormans River and Grubbs Branch. The entrance to the North and South Fork of the Moormans River trails are only 2.5 miles from our door. We also have hiking trails located on our property. The garage apartment comfortably fits two with two queen-size beds, a sitting area with TV and internet, kitchenette and full bath. There is a mini-split for heating and cooling. Designed for full-time guests.

The home sits on two acres with plenty of room to have fun in the yard or oversized patio. Our home was built in 1959 and has some character to it! Is a ranch cottage home with a basement. The home Includes: 4 bedrooms, 1 bonus room, 2 full bathrooms, main level family room, kitchen, dining room, basement family room, and laundry room. There is no master suite or master bathroom. All bedrooms have similar square footage. Three of the bedrooms have queen beds, one bedroom has a pair of twin beds, and a bonus room with a pair of twin beds. Amenities include: fully equipped kitchen, free fiber wifi, flat screen streaming TVs, private furnished patio, linens, towels, private driveway, and more. One of the bathrooms has a stand up shower. The second bathroom has a shower/tub combination. Each bathroom includes towels, hair dryer, hand soap, shampoo and conditioner. It's an older remodeled home so please keep in mind the bathrooms are still small. The basement is a great place to play games, hang out and enjoy a cold beverage. The basement has an air hockey table for some competitive fun! The patio off the back of the basement has a table and chairs. And off to the side of the house is a large gathering spot with seating, large dining table, string lights, and fire pit. This location is a perfect spot to play corn hole, cook s'mores, and hangout around the fire pit. Enjoy! The home is completely renovated and we tried our best to use all the space. The steps leading down to the basement have a low clearance. Please mind your head when you are walking up and down. The basement does have a drop down ceiling ranging from 7' to 6.5'. One of the queen bedrooms in the basement has no central air. We do have a heater that warms up the room nicely. In the summer it does stay nice and cool. We have a fan available for that room. * 2 pack n' plays available please bring your own sheets * High chair is available and located in the laundry room. Toys and books are in the twin bedroom on the main level. Puzzles located in the TV stand in the family room. Library is located in the basement. * Firewood and charcoal are not included. You can purchase at Ashley's Market down the road. * Washer and dryer is located in the basement with detergent * Included Supplies: Dish soap, dish detergent, hand soap, toilet paper, paper towels, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, hair dryer, face wipes, iron/ironing board, and laundry detergent. *Only 10 guest for the home *No smoking *No pets -Down the street: Route 151 is famously known for 26 wineries, breweries, ciders, and distilleries. The home sits on two acres with plenty of room to have fun in the yard or oversized patio. Our home was built in 1959 and has some character to it! Is a ranch cottage home with a basement. The home Includes: 4 bedrooms, 1 bonus room, 2 full bathrooms, main level family room, kitchen, dining room, basement family room, and laundry room. There is no master suite or master bathroom. All bedrooms have similar square footage. Three of the bedrooms have queen beds, one bedroom has a pair of twin beds, and a bonus room with a pair of twin beds. Amenities include: fully equipped kitchen, free fiber wifi, flat screen streaming TVs, private furnished patio, linens, towels, private driveway, and more. One of the bathrooms has a stand up shower. The second bathroom has a shower/tub combination. Each bathroom includes towels, hair dryer, hand soap, shampoo and conditioner. It's an older remodeled home so please keep in mind the bathrooms are still small. The basement is a great place to play games, hang out and enjoy a cold beverage. The basement has an air hockey table for some competitive fun! The patio off the back of the basement has a table and chairs. And off to the side of the house is a large gathering spot with seating, large dining table, string lights, and fire pit. This location is a perfect spot to play corn hole, cook s'mores, and hangout around the fire pit. Enjoy! Main level: Family Room, Kitchen, Dinette, Dining room with sitting nook, Bedroom 1 (Queen), Bedroom 2 (Queen), Bathroom (Stand Up Shower), and Bedroom 3 (2 Twins), Basement: Bedroom 4 (Queen), Bathroom (tub/shower connected to Bedroom 4), Family Room (air hockey table), Bonus Room (2 Twins) Guest access * Self check-in with keypad * Only park on the driveway and covered carport Other things to note Time to Wine Down was a fun project for us. The home is completely renovated and we tried our best to use all the space. The steps leading down to the basement have a low clearance. Please mind your head when you are walking up and down. The basement does have a drop down ceiling ranging from 7' to 6.5'. One of the queen bedrooms in the basement has no central air. We do have a heater that warms up the room nicely. In the summer it does stay nice and cool. We have a fan available for that room. * 2 pack n' plays available please bring your own sheets * High chair is available and located in the laundry room. Toys and books are in the twin bedroom on the main level. Puzzles located in the TV stand in the family room. Library is located in the basement. * Firewood and charcoal are not included. You can purchase at Ashley's Market down the road. * Washer and dryer is located in the basement with detergent * Included Supplies: Dish soap, dish detergent, hand soap, toilet paper, paper towels, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, hair dryer, face wipes, iron/ironing board, and laundry detergent. *Only 10 guest for the home *No smoking *No pets -Down the street: Route 151 is famously known for 26 wineries, breweries, ciders, and distilleries. We are lucky enough to be in the heart of it all! We have a wine cooler for all your new bottles. Always check online to confirm hours, services, reservations and live music! The home sits on two acres with plenty of room to have fun in the yard or oversized patio. Our home was built in 1959 and has some character to it! Is a ranch cottage home with a basement. The home Includes: 4 bedrooms, 1 bonus room, 2 full bathrooms, main level family room, kitchen, dining room, basement family room, and laundry room. There is no master suite or master bathroom. All bedrooms have similar square footage. Three of the bedrooms have queen beds, one bedroom has a pair of twin beds, and a bonus room with a pair of twin beds. Amenities include: fully equipped kitchen, free fiber wifi, flat screen streaming TVs, private furnished patio, linens, towels, private driveway, and more. One of the bathrooms has a stand up shower. The second bathroom has a shower/tub combination. Each bathroom includes towels, hair dryer, hand soap, shampoo and conditioner. It's an older remodeled home so please keep in mind the bathrooms are still small. The basement is a great place to play games, hang out and enjoy a cold beverage. The basement has an air hockey table for some competitive fun! The patio off the back of the basement has a table and chairs. And off to the side of the house is a large gathering spot with seating, large dining table, string lights, and fire pit. This location is a perfect spot to play corn hole, cook s'mores, and hangout around the fire pit. Enjoy! In the summer it does stay nice and cool. We have a fan available for that room. * 2 pack n' plays available please bring your own sheets * High chair is available and located in the laundry room. Toys and books are in the twin bedroom on the main level. Puzzles located in the TV stand in the family room. Library is located in the basement. * Firewood and charcoal are not included. We absolutely loved our stay at this Hipcamp spot last week! It was the perfect retreat—so cute and cozy, and truly had all the amenities a weary traveler could possibly need. I was especially impressed by how conscientious and thoughtful the host was throughout our stay. For instance, the space was efficiently designed with plenty of hooks for hanging items, which is essential in a small space. We were also very grateful that she provided snacks and small bites to eat after our long drive, and she was incredibly communicative and fast at responding to any questions we had. As a pet owner, I was also appreciative that the space was pet-friendly, allowing my dog, Biscuit, to join us on the trip. I sincerely hope to stay again sometime soon, perhaps when the weather is a bit nicer! Highly recommend this wonderful spot.

The view and location was everything we were looking for when visiting luray caverns. We actually did a cold plunge in the river. It was awesome. We booked another night just because we wanted to enjoy the scenery and tranquility. The hosts were responsive. The only thing I will say is me and my girlfriend were unable to take a decent shower in the shower rooms because after a minute or so of the water running. It began to smell like sewage. So after the first night we didn’t shower or brush our teeth or anything inside the bathrooms/showers. It was a really horrible putrid smell anytime we tried to shower.

My fiancee and I had a lovely and relaxing stay at this glamping site. It was beautiful and scenic, and the stars really came out and popped at night when the skies were clear. There is a toilet right behind the tent and a shower on site, as well as wifi provided, which is very convenient. Jud was incredible and very accommodating for all of our needs. We had a great time time chatting with him about how he arrived to the area and he gave great recommendations on things to do / check out nearby. We are already planning our next trip back, next time with more of our friends! Lovely stay - couldn't recommend enough.

We absolutely loved staying here. It was "roughing it" without really "roughing it". I.e., we had access to a toilet and an actual bed. The night we arrived was unseasonably cold, but a propane heater was provided and the bed was warm, cozy and really felt luxurious. So comfy! Jud taught us about the berries on the bushes that kids loved to eat and also feed the goats with. The location was perfect too. Allowed us to be flexible with our plans since hikes and other attractions were abundant, some as close as minutes away. Has easily become one of our favorite places to camp.

We had a great experience glamping. Everything you foul ever need had been thought of and provided. The host gave us a warm welcome and provided detailed instructions. We are used to camping so having a bed and toilet was quite the treat. First night got down to 45 and there was a small propane heater we used to heat the tent before bed and when we woke up so we were quite warm. The land and area are beautiful and we enjoyed the plentiful stars. Blue quartz winery/brewery was truly at the end of the road and we had a fabulous evening with more views there after hiking in Shenandoah National Park. Definitely would recommend the stay to others and hope to come back soon!

Peace like a river, love like a mountain Wintergreen Resort we’re not, but if you’re looking for a cozy (800-900 sq. ft.) mountain cabin with most of the comforts of home, Rocky Run Landing might be the place for you. Our motto is “You’re a long way away from it all before you ever get here.” Rocky Run Landing sits back in a loblolly pine grove just under the crest of Hawk Ridge in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains. The cabin is two miles up the Tye River from the village of Norwood and the James River in southern Nelson County, Virginia. The address is 3124 Cedar Creek Road, Arrington, VA 22922. The cabin has a telephone, but no long distance service. Your calling card will work with this phone. You’ll have to find just the right spot to use your cell phone. Wireless internet is available via satellite. Rocky Run Landing consists of a small first-floor bedroom, a small loft bedroom, a bath and a half, kitchen/dining area, and a great room. The great room has two sleep futons, chairs, and a small TV/DVR with cable. A wood stove is also in the great room. The small kitchen has a full-size refrigerator, deep sink, gas range, coffeemaker, and microwave oven. A dining table and four chairs are provided, along with basic pots, pans, and tableware. Rocky Run Landing has central HVAC, but often all you need are the ceiling and pedestal fans. The best experience is al fresco! The small first floor bedroom features a queen bed, nightstand and lamp, and a chest of drawers. Bed linens, blankets, pillows, and towels are also provided. The half-bath is off this bedroom and adjoins the full bath. Electric wall heaters provide auxiliary heat in the bedroom and bathrooms. The bedroom also has a couple of very small closets, which are the only clothes closets in the cabin. The staircase to the small loft is very steep and is not recommended for older guests or the very young. The loft is furnished with a double bed. A hiking trail and a gravel road will take you the 1/3-mile to the Tye River, but be warned — both are steep. You’ll need a 4-wheel-drive vehicle to drive to the river. You’ll need good legs to walk back to the cabin. By the riverside you'll find a well-groomed recreation area with picnic tables shaded by a canopy of white ash and river birch, a fire ring, and, in the summer, even a porta-potty. A 'beach' is cleared to the river. At normal water levels, this spot on the Tye is appropriate for supervised child's play and for adult water recreation. Fishing is also fine! History has it that the Tye River was Teddy Roosevelt's favorite fishing stream. Rocky Run Landing is a good location to either begin or end a paddling or tubing trip on the Tye/James Rivers. A canoe is available for rental and your hosts can assist with planning river trips from one-half mile to 20 miles (overnight). Shuttle service is included with canoe rental. Tubes are also available for a lazy drift downstream. Charcoal grills may be requested for use at the cabin or in the riverside picnic area (guests provide charcoal). The screened porch offers a serene view of Buffalo Ridge to the south across the river (if the leaves aren't too thick). Turn on the porch ceiling fans, relax in the porch swing, and whistle back to the whippoorwills. As the evening gets quiet, let the roar of the Tye River rapids lull you to sleep. If you decide you’d like to forgo seclusion and venture into the outside world during your stay, many places of interest are within a day trip of Rocky Run Landing. Jeffersonian and other historic properties abound, Civil War sites are easily accessible, Wintergreen Resort offers a variety of activities, and kid-friendly excursions are within kid-tolerance driving distance. Your hosts will be happy to recommend itineraries based on your interests and will check with Wintergreen to ensure any desired activity is available. Many wineries, breweries, and cideries are also in the area, along with local artisan shops. Rocky Run Landing is appropriate for a family vacation, spiritual sojourn, romantic escape, adventure quest, artist's or writer's retreat, friends' get-away, or sight-seeing base.
