The property feels tucked away, but it’s an easy walk to town with reliable cell service. You’re close to a fully stocked local market for natural food staples and local goods, coffee and lattes at Claire’s Café, brunch at The Curly Maple, a classic meal at High’s Old Time Diner, sample local cider at Big Fish Cider and pizza at The Highlander. Shop local art at Third Space or thrift at Twice Is Nice. A short walk in the other direction you’ll find free-range horses and a couple of friendly donkeys.
A short drive takes you to a local maple sugar camp or a hike up to Sounding Knob fire tower for incredible views. The area is known for winding country drives, summer fishing, fall foliage, and hunting. A central location to be first in line for donuts at Monterey’s award winning Maple Festival, the county fair or Harvest Festival and Virginia's newest State Park - Hayfields State Park is a 25 minute drive. Local hot springs are just 40 minutes down the road.
