My friend and I brought our pups up here for a night and can’t recommend it enough. The site is private, close to a few wineries/breweries, and has great views. Be sure to follow the 4WD guidance - we didn’t have to use it but I can see how rain a day or two before could make for an interesting drive up. The leaves this time of year also made it a bit slick. Overall, the campsite was exactly what we were hoping for and we’ll be back if camping in the area again!

One of the best camp sites I have ever been to! VERY family friendly. Exceptionally well maintained. Host was very responsive and provided clear directions on how to get to the site. Rocks denoted the location for the campfire. Great path to go for a hike in the morning. Close to the town to pick up graham crackers or whatever else you forgot before camping. However still felt very secluded. Could not say enough good things.

It was so nice being tucked away from society but close enough to a grocery store. There was still a little phone service for AT&T. Fire pit worked beautifully. We were able to fit our Wawona 6 tent and 4Runner and still have plenty of space to walk around. The need for 4WD up to the site is true.

Perfect little camping spot — quiet and secluded. Will be coming back. Having the right car is a must especially after a rain — not a mud issue but rocks move around and change the line a bit making it a little tougher to maneuver up the hill but we were fine in a Forester.

Very quiet and private campsite. Definitely make sure u have an AWD SUV, as indicated on the posting. Feels very secluded but only ~10 min into town in case you need to grab something and close to the national park. Definitely recommend!

Stayed here during a 2 day trip at the NP and we had a great time. The drive to the spot is alittle tricky but as long as you have AWD you should be okay. The place is taken care of and secluded so it’s perfect for a little get away. Would be staying again if we are ever around the area.

Nice secluded spot. Local town nearby if any supplies needed and a new local farm brewery nearby. Definitely pay attention to the caution for the road. It was rocky and took some trying to get over a washed out area in my Subaru but all went well. I would definitely go back.

Amazing spot if you are looking to be secluded. Area stays shady pretty much all day, making it great for post hike recovery. Highly recommend for a base camp if you are looking to do other things in the area.

Loved this spot so much! Brett was super nice and accommodating. This spot was really special and really helped me unplug and relax. I did spot a black bear not far from the site (which is cool and also I was scared as I was camping solo.) Brett made sure to accommodate me after I left early bc I knew I would be up all night. It was really magical being up there and waking up to the nature sounds was truly remarkable. Will absolutely be staying here again!!! Super happy with my stay and was just what I needed.

This was exactly what we needed! We used to go camping/boondocking in Michigan all the time before we move to DC in spring of 2023. We took a bit of a hiatus, and now we wanted to go on a family camping trip with our 9 month old baby. We’ve had a hard time finding a campsite that was secluded and in the woods. We really don’t like public camp sites due to too many people be loud late at night. This campsite brought us back to our over landing and Boondocking phase!! The road to get up was a little treacherous, and I would definitely recommend a more sturdy vehicle. Our F150 had no problem, but I could’ve seen my Subaru outback getting stuck at certain points, especially the first 20 feet of the road. The site was super easy to find using Google maps. It was secluded and quiet. When we first arrived, it was a little buggy but a little bug spray and our Thermo cell worked just fine. Our dog had a fun time running around off leash but just be careful because we did find one tick. Our nine month old baby enjoyed playing in the dirt and watching the birds soar overhead. The stars were beautiful and it was exactly what we were looking for. I would definitely go back. V offered to drop off some wood for us, but we just stopped at a gas station 20 min up the road and got two packs of wood. V was communicative and nice!

This was an incredible location! Absolutely stunning. You certainly need a 4WD vehicle to get up the mountain, but once up there, you’ll be mesmerized by the stars, the view and the peace that this site offers. I highly recommend this site to anyone wanting a mountain retreat. If in the area again, I will certainly be staying here again!
