Our full line of herbs and herbal products are for sale via our website or at Free Verse Farm Shop, located just one mile from our farm in downtown Chelsea. LOCAL ATTRACTIONS: We also run Free Verse Farm Shop (OPEN: Tuesday-Friday 11am-6pm, Saturday 9am-3pm), a local grocery, café, and apothecary to serve our community and visitors to the area, while supporting local farms and artisans. The village of Chelsea hosts a weekly summer farmers market May-September on Fridays from 3-6pm (mid-May through September). In downtown Chelsea there is gas station (110 Quickstop), two town commons, a small library, and a general store (Will's Store), and a farm stand (Chicken Wiggle Farm).
Within 20-45 minutes of our farm you can reach the larger towns of Montpelier (state capital), South Royalton, Randolph, Woodstock, White River Junction, and the Upper Valley Region (Dartmouth College), all of which offer a wide variety of attractions and services. Upon your arrival, you will be given a welcome packet with more detailed information about our area, and we'll be happy to provide you with any other tips you're looking for.

Access the Long Trail at multiple locations within a few miles.

Bike the back roads of the area—wooded areas, windy or flat terrain, beautiful views, plenty of spots to rest beside a flowing stream. Or, access the Lamoille Valley Rail Trail (93+ miles of non-motorized riding/walking on a converted and maintained railway bed).
FISHING/HUNTING
In the mountains we have streams, brooks, and rivers. There are many hotspots for fishing—lots of brook trout! No matter the rod you use, there are many places to try your skills. A fishing/hunting license is needed.
CANOE, KAYAK, TUBE
Got your own? Bring it! The Lamoille River is a few miles away and a favorite for water lovers. Don't have one, there is a great rental place down the road where you can take one out for the day. Looking for another option to the river? The Belvidere Pond is down the road and offers a peaceful place to paddle around surrounded by the mountains.
MAPLE SYRUP/SUGARBUSH
Want to learn about the maple sugaring process? We are always happy to give you a tour of our sugarhouse and the woods, and explain how we turn the tree sap into yummy Maple Syrup. (We only boil January-early April.) We do have this year's crop bottled and available for sale! Buy one for morning pancakes, to add to your morning coffee, or to take home!
WILDLIFE/BERRIES/MUSHROOMS/FIDDLEHEADS
Depending on the time of the year, you can find wild raspberries, blackberries, mushrooms, and fiddleheads. (Please do not pick or eat something if you don't know if it is poisonous!) And, wildlife are around. Look for tracks in the soil, signs they have been there, or if you are really quiet (usually in the early morning or at dusk) you might see deer, geese, or wild turkeys!

As private as private gets but only 6 miles to Newport Vt. There is a creek and a one acre pond (20 feet deep). It is all mixed hard and softwoods. It has some magnificent old growth trees 100 foot tall. There is a good rd that my friend has used with his Lincoln. Most any vehicle (car or Pickup)can get to the site. It gets a little tricky if you are pulling a trailer. A small one is OK but a large one - not so much....... The rd goes 1/2 mile to the rear of the land. Moose, deer and other critters visit too. We live 1/2 mile away from where you enter the woodlot. Our house is on Brownington Pond (200+ acres) & campers can use this site for swimming, boating & fishing. Our full line of herbs and herbal products are for sale via our website or at Free Verse Farm Shop, located just one mile from our farm in downtown Chelsea. LOCAL ATTRACTIONS: We also run Free Verse Farm Shop (OPEN: Tuesday-Friday 11am-6pm, Saturday 9am-3pm), a local grocery, café, and apothecary to serve our community and visitors to the area, while supporting local farms and artisans. The village of Chelsea hosts a weekly summer farmers market May-September on Fridays from 3-6pm (mid-May through September). In downtown Chelsea there is gas station (110 Quickstop), two town commons, a small library, and a general store (Will's Store), and a farm stand (Chicken Wiggle Farm).
Within 20-45 minutes of our farm you can reach the larger towns of Montpelier (state capital), South Royalton, Randolph, Woodstock, White River Junction, and the Upper Valley Region (Dartmouth College), all of which offer a wide variety of attractions and services. Upon your arrival, you will be given a welcome packet with more detailed information about our area, and we'll be happy to provide you with any other tips you're looking for.

Access the Long Trail at multiple locations within a few miles.

Bike the back roads of the area—wooded areas, windy or flat terrain, beautiful views, plenty of spots to rest beside a flowing stream. Or, access the Lamoille Valley Rail Trail (93+ miles of non-motorized riding/walking on a converted and maintained railway bed).
FISHING/HUNTING
In the mountains we have streams, brooks, and rivers. There are many hotspots for fishing—lots of brook trout! No matter the rod you use, there are many places to try your skills. A fishing/hunting license is needed.
CANOE, KAYAK, TUBE
Got your own? Bring it! The Lamoille River is a few miles away and a favorite for water lovers. Don't have one, there is a great rental place down the road where you can take one out for the day. Looking for another option to the river? The Belvidere Pond is down the road and offers a peaceful place to paddle around surrounded by the mountains.
MAPLE SYRUP/SUGARBUSH
Want to learn about the maple sugaring process? We are always happy to give you a tour of our sugarhouse and the woods, and explain how we turn the tree sap into yummy Maple Syrup. (We only boil January-early April.) We do have this year's crop bottled and available for sale! Buy one for morning pancakes, to add to your morning coffee, or to take home!
WILDLIFE/BERRIES/MUSHROOMS/FIDDLEHEADS
Depending on the time of the year, you can find wild raspberries, blackberries, mushrooms, and fiddleheads. (Please do not pick or eat something if you don't know if it is poisonous!) And, wildlife are around. Look for tracks in the soil, signs they have been there, or if you are really quiet (usually in the early morning or at dusk) you might see deer, geese, or wild turkeys!

As private as private gets but only 6 miles to Newport Vt. There is a creek and a one acre pond (20 feet deep). It is all mixed hard and softwoods. It has some magnificent old growth trees 100 foot tall. There is a good rd that my friend has used with his Lincoln. Most any vehicle (car or Pickup)can get to the site. It gets a little tricky if you are pulling a trailer. A small one is OK but a large one - not so much....... The rd goes 1/2 mile to the rear of the land. Moose, deer and other critters visit too. We live 1/2 mile away from where you enter the woodlot. Our house is on Brownington Pond (200+ acres) & campers can use this site for swimming, boating & fishing. 1 night at Art and Health Chill Camping
Sandy was a wonderful host! She greeted us when we arrived and had the sauna heated up and ready to go, which was such a nice touch. She was very easy to get in touch with and always available whenever we needed anything. The space itself is unique, cute, beautiful, and so relaxing. We highly recommend staying here and can’t wait to come back!

Weekend Trip to Art and Health Chill Camping
I loved my little snowy weekend here! The heated hive was lovely and warm, and Sandy was so kind. Her land is so very pretty, and I can't wait to see it in bloom again soon! She was kind, very communicative, and very easy to plan activities such as the sauna with! Thank you so much! I will be back!

This was our second time at Sandy’s property and we can’t decide what our favorite season to visit is! There are so many amazing qualities: privacy, lack of light pollution, views, etc. that already have us planning our next visit. The sauna is an absolute must for us as it completely helps us rejuvenate our souls.

A great, convenient, and thoughtfully laid out site. I stayed two nights while exploring the trails and really enjoyed the view over the field with their horses during the day and the stars at night were amazing. The outhouse was convenient and clean as well. I definitely plan on returning someday soon!

Beautiful campsites on a hill overlooking the valley. Each site had a covered picnic table, tent platforms, electricity, and a sink. Bathhouse with hot water was a real treat. Hosts were communicative and helpful. Highly recommend.

Beautiful location, accommodating and welcoming hosts. Very nice clean bathrooms, showers, and laundry! Best I've ever seen at a camp ground. Sites are pretty private with their own sink and tent. It is in the middle of nowhere but pretty easy to find off the main road. Dog friendly. Wish we could have stayed longer!

The property here was amazing to be at. I was part of a 4.person group bikepacking through Vermont and came across this as an option for reprieve during a to be rainy night. The main lodge was very homey, communal, and clean. A huge kitchen and plenty of seating/hang out area for folks to catch up and chat. Honestly we would have loved to stay longer and get to know even more about the place as it seemed to have some good history and current operations to it.

Loved the RV setup, it was way cozier than what I expected from an RV right in the middle of woods. Having horses and dogs around just made our stay even more enjoyable. The owners were very sweet and were always available for us. Would def visit again!!

Jon and Ann were fantastic hosts! Such lovely people and such a great camp spot. There are great trails right on the property that wind through some beautiful woods, as well as longer trails around the quaint and peaceful neighborhood. Jon and Ann shared great recommendations for nearby activities and made us feel at home.

4 nights at Art and Health Chill Camping
My girlfriend and I had a great time enjoying the views and the atmosphere of Sandy’s farm. Great sunsets! The main house was clean and super convenient to use. Sauna is a must as well. Sandy’s freezer was also stocked with delicious Ben and Jerry’s ice cream :)

Weekend Trip to HOWL Women & Gender Justice Retreat
HOWL is a lovely place to stay! The hosts were welcoming and warm, opened their home as if I was an old friend and made sure that I felt comfy and ready to enjoy the beautiful surrounds. I'd recommend staying there - either camping or in the farmhouse - anytime your path takes you to the Upper Valley in Vermont!

Perfect stay at Sandy’s Hive! She graciously showed us all of the properties amenities even though it was kind of late and cold. The sauna was 10/10 experience would recommend to anyone! The sky and views were amazing.

We had a wonderful stay at the farm. Miken and Dave were wonderful hosts and ensured that we were comfortable on a chilly October night. We got a tour of the farm and were able to milk one of their goats. A truly special place with amazing hosts.

Weekend Trip to Maple Rock Hollow
We stayed at the Maple Rock Hallow Cabin during fall leaf foliage. The host Kathy was great! The cabin was easy to find, cozy and had all of the amenities we were looking for. The cabin is about 45 minutes to Stowe, which is where we wanted to explore. We did not have great cell service in the area, but we expected that. The cabin had streaming services on the TV. It was a perfect stay and we 100% recommend!
