Sandiwood Farm Stay Experiences

7 sites · Lodging, Tents80 acres · Wolcott, VT
Atop a hill in northern Vermont the farm property is made up a rolling hay field, organic vegetables, flowers, herbs, and old hardwood maple forest where we produce maple syrup. The sunsets are some of the best in Vermont! Sandiwood Farm produces artisan maple syrup and grows organic produce, flowers, cannabis, hemp and other herbs. They also host farm dinners, weddings, and other events. You can get your hands dirty and work on the farm if you're interested. This is a 420 friendly farm with samples and tastings. 35 years ago, Bob and Sara Schlosser were married in the barren field that is now Sandiwood Farm. They have slowly built their home, farm, business and raised a family.

Lake Tenting/Sm. RV Hyde Park VT

1 site · RV, Tent6 acres · Hyde Park, VT
You have your choice of camping with your van or small RV or tent, in a level, forested area (not lakeside) with picnic table and fire pit, or tenting lakeside with water views, picnic table and fire pit, or both! You have access to both, one reservation comes with both spots, so you can enjoy the lakeside regardless of where you sleep. Vehicles cannot reach the tent site, it is a steep trail about a 150 feet. Although our campsite is near the lake, you cannot drive to the water from the campsite. It is a steep, short hike down to the water. We recommend you bring canoes, kayaks and/ or paddle boards to get the most enjoyment out of your stay. It will be a rugged trip with the boats up and down the path to the water, but worth it in every way. There are three private homes on the lake, adjacent to where your site it located so we ask that no loud partying, play music only quietly and no generators. There are no campers on either side of your campsite, we only offer one, the perfect social distancing location. There is a nice, clean outhouse and no other amenities (Tier D in HipCamp-speak). No on site water. There are no other campsites at our place, you have the place to yourself. We have two dogs on the property, who are friendly and are off leash. If having dogs around would be a problem for you, please don't make a reservation. If you plan on bringing a dog please let us know.

Green Mountain View’s

1 site · Tent48 acres · Barton, VT
Please look up the Wiki about Barton Vermont . Fascinating history and information about the area . This property will be turned into a homestead for my now 13 year old daughter who has become too Americanized and on her phone all day 😉. She is going to learn how to grow her own food and become fully self sustainable . In the meantime I would like Hipcampers to enjoy the property and the views . Learn more about this land: Great mountain and lake views on secluded 48 acres ! The property is close to Crystal Lake , Lake Willoughby. You can see Canadian mountains from the top camping site . I Recommend parking in lower lot and hiking to the top to camp. The road is a off road/logging road to the top. Hipcamp and myself does not cover any damage to your vehicle . Read reviews before booking. It is a hike to the top that takes about 10-15 minute. Wear proper footwear . Must be a camper, outdoorsy or in decent shape to book this campsite . Again , please read reviews before booking . Thank you

Vintage Off-Grid Airstream

1 site · Lodging8 acres · Greensboro Bend, VT
Capture the spirit of 1960s wanderlust in a vintage Airstream trailer. Come enjoy a unique glamping experience in a magical setting. Perched above a cascading brook in the woods, running on solar energy, you'll discover why guests are reminded of what matters most - life is better with less. Wander the woods, enjoy the flowing water views and disconnect from the life you left behind. 'The mountains are calling and I must go...' This 1965 Airstream 'Globetrotter' is located in the heart of the Northeast Kingdom, just minutes from the center of Greensboro, VT. A short walk brings you to the center of town where you'll find Willey's Store (groceries, wine/beer, hardware, housewares, clothing/shoes and gas). Greensboro also has an art gallery, amazing glass & pottery artists, library, arts center and more. Caspian Lake is a short walk or drive from the Airstream. Less than 10 minutes away, you'll arrive at Hill Farmstead Brewery, a destination craft brewery, winning "best beer in the world" status many years running! WELCOME to Fallingwater Airstream, a vintage Airstream glamping experience! Come & enjoy this unique opportunity, where "less is more". You'll discover our fully-equipped camper has everything you need for an escape away from the hustle & bustle of everyday life - all while allowing you to live simply and reconnect to what matters most. Located in a magical woodland setting and running on solar energy, Fallingwater offers you the opportunity to replenish your soul and recharge your mind. Fallingwater is situated on the site of the historic Greensboro sawmill - from which the entire original town was built! Perched high above a cascading brook in a wooded setting...with natural deck and firepit to relax and enjoy the sights & sounds of the brook below. (Firewood and kindling are available on site.) You'll wake up to the sounds of water flowing, birds singing and views of the sun shining through the tall trees. Relax on the deck, or in Adirondack chairs around the fire, while cooking your dinner over a campfire. Settle in for the night under the starry skies or bistro lighting and savor the peace and tranquility. There is nothing like the night sky in the Northeast Kingdom! This vintage 1965 Airstream 'Globetrotter' is a 19' long vacation in a trailer! The curvaceous interior has been restored for comfort and ease of living. The exterior is traditional "aircraft aluminum" and the interior has been restored for comfort and convenience...lots of storage drawers and cabinets. The interior features the original "Zolatone" paint. The space boasts a couch, which transforms into a full-sized bed. (Since it can be a little tricky to unfold, we'll have the bed set up and already made with cozy linens, down comforter and warm blankets for your arrival.) Above the bed area is a sliding cabinet where we keep books, maps, etc. You'll find books on local Vermont wildflowers, mushrooms, campfire recipes and outdoor survival. The kitchenette features a propane stove/oven, mini-fridge, microwave, toaster, and is fully equipped with pots and pans, bowls, colander, dishes, glasses and mugs, and utensils/cooking gadgets. There are many cabinets for storage. The eating area is a table for 2 with cushioned seats and throw pillows, overlooking the deck and woodland setting. (This table and seats can be turned into an additional bed for a third person, if requested.) There are 2 storage closets between the kitchen and bathroom, where you'll find: extra blankets, bath/hand towels and washcloths, hair dryer, first aid kit, extra toilet paper, paper towels and space to hang clothing. The bath area features a medicine cabinet for storage and small shower stall with curtain and bath mat. There is a heater at this end of the trailer which can be used in colder months to heat the entire trailer. We have removed the toilet from inside the trailer and built a composting outhouse (with a light) just steps away from the trailer. Lighting is provided for the walk to the outhouse at night. The Airstream is set up to be off-grid, powered by solar energy, with electricity as a backup. Internet and land line (from which you can make local calls) are part of modern conveniences. There is no TV - we recommend bringing a laptop if you'd like to stream movies via Wifi. Guests must carry in drinking water. There is a limited supply of water (about 110 gallons) for showering/dish washing, etc. Water is gravity-fed from a tank in the sawmill barn and we must re-fill depending on how quickly guests use water. Water to the Airstream is only available up until the first chance of freezing in the fall, it becomes available again after the winter thaw and is safe for showering, hand-washing and doing dishes/cleaning. We recommend that you conserve water as much as possible - quick showers and don't leave water running for extended periods. IMPORTANT THINGS TO NOTE: *Bring your own toiletries, though sample sizes are provided. *The mini-fridge is small, so limit your grocery load until you see the space. You can walk to Willey's around the corner for groceries or supplies. *Feel free to bring anything you might need for traditional camping - there's a good chance we already provide it, but best to be prepared! *Limit shower times to be sure you don't run out of hot water! (This is a camper after all and the hot water heater runs off of solar power.) Guest access When you enter the property, you'll see the giant barn that was once the old sawmill, along with a small red barn. Parking area is noted with signs. A short walk past the barn will bring you to the Airstream. The property is 8 wooded acres, separated by a brook that runs through it. Guests are conveniently close to the center of Greensboro, yet you'll feel like you're a world away when in the Airstream. A walk through the woods will lead you to openings where you can sit by the brook and enjoy the peace and solitude. In the woodland areas, you can no longer hear the sounds of society. Willey's Store is just minutes from the property, and has just about everything you could imagine...food, a fabulous selection of beer/wine, clothing and shoes, housewares and hardware. The town of Greensboro also boasts an art gallery, glass/pottery artisans, library, and the Highland Art Center, which is a cultural arts campus (and home of the Hardwick Street Cafe). The town of Hardwick is a 10 minute drive from the center of town with lots of restaurants to choose from for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The quaint town also has multiple grocery stores and shops. Fallingwater is located just a few miles from Hill Farmstead Brewery, voted Best Brewery in the world many years running - a local must-visit! Seasonal outdoor activities in the area are endless. Greensboro has it's own set of cross-country ski trails and is just 15 minutes from the Craftsbury Outdoor Center (hundreds of miles of pristine cross-country skiing and sculling). We're just minutes from Caspian Lake, where you can swim from the public beach, kayak, canoe, SUP and more. We're about 45 minutes from Stowe, Burke Mountain and Jay Peak for downhill skiing. Easy to strenuous hiking can be found all around the area - so much to do within 30 minutes or more of Greensboro. Lake Willoughby (a truly otherworldly place) is about 35 minutes away. Fall foliage season is unbelievably gorgeous, especially when viewed from high within the mountains! Other things to note Seasonal Information: In warmer months, you can get here easily in any vehicle. In snowy weather, we highly recommend 4WD or AWD vehicles for getting around this area - there are many secondary roads with packed snow/sand in winter, and these roads can be difficult to navigate without snow tires or 4WD. In winter months, it snows here almost every day - sometimes just a flurry and sometimes a few inches or more. Guests are expected to do some light shoveling if necessary, around the trailer and their own vehicles. Snow boots and proper outerwear are a must!

Off Piste Farm

3 sites · RVs, Tents50 acres · West Burke, VT
We operate a small working farm on our 50 acre property. Approximately 7 acres is cleared fields where we grow hemp, pigs and chickens. We are at the end of a dirt road with private access and stunning views of the surrounding mountains. If you decide to stay with us we can guarantee you your own private tent site to get away from it all, or a beautiful spot to park your van, car or small camper, all while still being only 10 minutes to the amenities of town, 15 minutes to world famous mountain biking at Kingdom Trails, or 20 minutes to breathtaking Lake Willoughby. Learn more about this land: We have two private tent platforms located in a mature mixed hardwood forest on our 50 acre property, as well as one van/small camper/car camping site located on the edge of our field. Each tent platform site includes an elevated and level 10'x12' cedar tent platform, a picnic table, and more privacy than the car camping site. Parking is less than a 1 minute walk from the platforms down a well maintained woods road and gorilla carts are available to help haul your gear. Many guests who wish to stay right next to their cars choose to car camp on the edge of the field in the car camping site, either pitching a tent or spending the night in their small camper. The views from this site are breathtaking, but it has less privacy as it is located next to the communal firepit, and amidst our working farm so we will occasionally be around doing chores, (the chickens and pigs are early risers). The communal fire pit has a great view and a few chairs are provided. Seasoned firewood is available for purchase, and we ask that you please do not harvest or burn your own wood off the property. Potable drinking water and a portable toilet are also available onsite for our guests. Well behaved pets are welcome, but must remain on a leash to ensure they do not disturb our plants or farm animals. We are at the dead end of a gravel road and can guarantee complete privacy and seclusion if you are looking to get away from it all, yet still be located conveniently within 10 minutes of Lyndonville, 15 minutes to Kingdom Trails and East Burke, 20 minutes to Lake Willoughby, and at the doorstep to the beautiful wilderness of Vermont's Northeast Kingdom!
