Fremont culture and Anasazi people were the first known inhabitants of the area. Petroglyphs, pithouses, arrowheads, pottery, and manos dating from A.D. 750 to 1250 found in the area are evidence that it was on a major thoroughfare of early indigenous peoples. At nearby Parowan Gap ancient people inscribed petroglyphs on smooth-surfaced boulders that feature snakes, lizards, mouse-men, bear claws, and mountain sheep. Located near the Parowan Gap there are dinosaur tracks. East of the Gap and petroglyphs hikers can discover Hadrosaurs tracks that were originally formed in non-resistant mudstone. Later, the Old Spanish Trail
passed through the area.
The nearby town of Parowan was founded in 1851, twelve months after Parley P. Pratt and members of his exploring party discovered the Little Salt Lake (dry lake bed)
which is straight out from the property.
The area was traveled by early settlers that used the nearby Red Hills to pass through the area
to hide from aggressive Indians that hid in the nearby mountains that watch for them traveling on the Spanish Trail. Many arrow heads and artifacts have been found on and near the property.
Later (early 1900's) sheep herders camped in the same place as the location of the property.

What a lovely place to stay! My sister and I brought our two very young kids and they LOVED all the animals and the open space to run around and play. Such beautiful views and easily accessible to hikes and so much more beauty! The kitchenette and bathrooms were well maintained and so appreciated. We were also grateful for the heater that kept us cozy during chilly nights. Highly recommend!

My stay at Wildland Garden, was absolutely perfect! The tents were spacious, beautifully decorated, and offered the perfect balance of comfort and adventure. Waking up to stunning mountain views and crisp, fresh air made my stay unforgettable. Carrie Ann went above and beyond to make sure everything was spotless and well-stocked, from cozy bedding to little touches like lanterns and firewood. The location is peaceful and private but still close enough to explore nearby trails and scenic spots. We stayed for one night on a long cross-country trip, so our stay was short, but very sweet!
Carrie Ann was responsive and accommodating. The glamping tent was cute, spacious, and comfortable.
The bathroom/kitchen were a huge huge plus, and very clean.
The property was beautiful and we had an incredible view of the night sky. I would highly recommend a stay here!

My husband and I had a wonderful time at Carrie’s campground. Carrie and her husband were very welcoming and informative. They gave us some great recommendations and we will definitely stay here again next time we’re in the area. The amenities and the facilities were superb. We are very simple people and needed minimal things at camp. We also came across other campers during our stay and enjoyed each other’s company. This is a very peaceful and community-based camp, if that doesn’t sound like you, please keep looking.

My husband and I had a wonderful and peaceful time at Wildland Gardens. The accommodations for glamping were exceptional. Clean and inviting wall tent space welcomes you to leave stress behind. . A fan, heater, and extra covers inside your space. You have access to your private grill.
Carrie and Mike (husband) are down-to-earth, easy to connect with hostess and hosts. They go out of their way to ensure you have a good experience there. There’s so much more to say. But all in all, book to stay there! It is a nice getaway that leaves you gazing at the stars (and the Milky Way) and thanking God for stillness, nature,, good people, and peace..

Everything was as advertised. We were able to find a level shady spot to park our two vehicles and trailers. The swing was a treat for the kids and the portapotty was satisfactory (could use some service, but it didn’t stink). We enjoyed checking out Pine Lake. Water was available about 10 minutes away at Pine Lake Campground, so we filled our water jugs there.

Tim is extremely welcoming, and has a great set up for Hip Camp. If you are ever in the Bryce Canyon area - we highly recommend staying at this site. It was close to the park, but also featured bike and walking trails right off of the camp to explore when back at our camper. Very Peaceful stay & AMAZING views. Because of this we took a day to just rest and enjoy the peacefulness and views. We had friendly beautiful horses behind us and Hosts were very accommodating. The WiFi didn't work maybe because it didn't reach on top of the hill where the RVs park. I didn't complain because my T-Mobile service worked most of the time and I was there to "Not" work. Note** the trails are not walking trails they are for OHVs but the camp grounds are still peaceful to walk.
