Broken Oak River Park

12 sites · RVs, Tents40 acres · Edna, TX
40 acres – “Big enough to explore, but not too big to get lost!” Hike alongside the meandering Navidad. The 2/3 mile-long developed walking trail offers pristine views and a good opportunity to scout your campsite. Each area features a distinct slice of Texan wilderness, whether you prefer wooded terrain or a lookout over the river. One site features a handmade brick firepit and a perfect spot for stargazing. During the day, you can follow the river to some waterholes and try your luck at catching catfish and perch. Celebrate your success with a picnic under a sprawling oak, keeping an eye out for deer, rabbits, and other playful animals. If exploring is more your style, head into the woods and hunt for Bandit’s Hideaway, a hollow old sycamore with secrets to tell. Depending on the season, you might stumble on wild dewberries or an ancient grove of pecans. At night, grill your family dinner over the firepit (or sneak ‘em back to town for some Tex-Mex!) and then tell ghost stories at the south fence overlooking Enon Cemetary. After a long day, settle in together with the stars and the sounds of nature. They say life’s what you make it, and at the 40, you’ve got everything you need for a little piece of heaven! While the property is largely undeveloped as of now, we plan to add pubic bathrooms, a stocked pond with a swimming area, and much more! Pets allowed. Please be sure to pick up after them.

Magnolia Beach RV Park

2 sites · RVs1 acre · Port Lavaca, TX
Welcome to Magnolia Beach RV Park in Port Lavaca, Texas! We are a small RV park that offers electric, water, sewer, trash, and WiFi. All sites are 50, 30, and 20 Amp and have water and sewer hookups. Pets are welcome! We are close to Magnolia Beach, Port Lavaca business district, and Indianola. When you feel the gulf breezes, you know you've made it to Goose Island. Nestled near St. Charles and Aransas Bays, this Texas state park is all about the water. We're talking boating, kayaking, fishing, and birdwatching along the coast. The only thing you can't do is swim. (Sorry.) That said, there's plenty of luck to be had on the 1,620-foot fishing pier. A boat launch and kayak/canoe launch are also available. Remember to bring your own boat! No stay is complete without visiting the main attraction—a 1,000-year-old oak lovingly dubbed The Big Tree. (Don't worry, it's still standing strong in the wake of Hurricane Harvey.) We primarily cater to month to month guests working in the area so there's not a ton of activities around, but my wife and I are full-time RV'ers so we are hosts as a way to give back to our awesome community. We are located super close to Magnolia Beach though where there is free beach camping for 14 nights! Pets are allowed. Please make sure you pick up after them. We offer discounted rates to HipCampers at $25/night (usually $30) and $150/week (usually $175). We also now have golf carts available for rent!! https://magnoliabeachrvpark.com

Camping near Victoria with campfires guide

Overview

Camp under the starry Texas sky in Victoria, a friendly town on the Guadalupe River. There’s a campsite for every taste—pitch your tent on the plains or book a lakeside RV park. Just 30 miles away, oceanfront campgrounds line the Gulf of Mexico. With the hot Texas summers and mild winters, camping is possible year-round.

If you like your camping with a little luxury, check out the RV resorts near town. Amenities like Wi-Fi and hot showers keep you comfortable after a day in the sun. Near the Athey Nature Area, the city-run Victoria RV park has 18 pull-thru spaces. A few steps away, you can hike, bike, and golf.

Explore 61 miles of shoreline at Coleto Creek Park. Select RV sites with hookups and picnic tables, or go rustic with primitive tent sites. Families love the park for its lighted fishing pier, sandy beaches, and playgrounds.

Craving cool sea breezes? An hour south, Goose Island State Park provides bayfront and forested campsites. Fishing, birdwatching, and boating are popular in the park. Nearby, hike and bike through the Aransas National Wildlife Refuge.

Get ready for the heat from April through October; temperatures stay in the 80s and 90s. Book or arrive early to find shaded campsites. Winters are cooler but pleasant, with the weather in the 60s. A mid-weight jacket is all you need to stay warm around the evening campfire.
