This was a great spot and I really appreciated the camp essentials bucket the hosts had available for hipcampers. The heavy duty stakes really came in handy while setting up my tent in high winds. The setting was spectacular and facilities were clean. I would absolutely come back!

We loved our spot! Jason was very accommodating and responsive to anything we needed. I know phone service is a challenge out there so that may be the reason for negative reviews on returning messages. But we had a great time! The property was clean and the pool was an awesome addition. Our kids loved the goats too! I will be coming back for sure!

This campground is fairly remote which is a major plus for me! Most importantly for me they have flush toilets and showers, as well as, power at each site. The site is near a mine so there will be trucks up and down the road but it remains quiet in the evening and through the night. The road is very rough but passible by any vehicle. There was a Porsche on the road of all things. Very god value for what you get. The only thing I’d like to see change are actual pictures of each site on Hipcamps app. The WiFi there is really good! You have cell reception part way up the road but it is gone by the time you reach the campground. I was in a full sized truck pulling a 16x7 trailer. Totaling 42 feet long. I got into spot 3. It was very tight but I made it. Granted this is longer than what they recommended but I was given permission to bring it in. If you do this I recommend you stay up top. I would stay here again if in the area!

Weekend Trip to Paisano Azul Ranch

Very nice site with clean, flushing porta-pots close by, a table,,and a canopy above the tent site with a wind break. The shower setup was outdoors but had hot water and soap dispensers mounted on the wall so very convenient. The property was clean and not far from stores, restaurants, and gas.

We had a great overnight at the Bus Stop Campground in Terlingua. It was a great spot, tucked away down a dirt road. The electricity and water made it very comfortable. It also had a nice bathroom and shower. We enjoyed the space very much! Would happily come back the next time we are in the area! Thanks David!

Awesome stay, site had plenty of room, grill, fire pit, electric and a good size sink. They even had extra tent steaks for the hard rocking ground which was a blessing, because the ones that come withe the tent wasn't going to work. The bathroom and showers were kept clean. I would stay here again.

Roomy campsites and great views. Reasonable rate. Close to Terlingua and Big Bend Ranch state park Road to campground is like a washboard. But this road did serve other places-just an FYI Only real complaint-Bath house was not cleaned during the week we were there as far as we know. Large hunks of hair in the shower that were never picked up and toilets not cleaned during our stay. Small trash can in bathroom never emptied. Lost water for two days at the camp site.

I really enjoyed camping here. It is a great location and was very clean. I appreciated the shade structures. It was calm and quiet, especially at night. The only thing I hated was that there was an awful smell one of the nights we stayed here. Maybe it was the porta-potty? The wind blew it into my campsite, and it was really gross. Justin was very friendly and I enjoyed chatting with him when he stopped by our site to say hello. Would definitely stay here again!

Amazing place to stay 3 mins away from the entrance to the national park, staff super friendly and knowledgeable. The restrooms were clean and the showers are amazing with a view of mountains. I don’t think i would stay anywhere else when i come to visit the park

We had a group and reserved six of the sites. What an awesome place, everyone loved it! The bathrooms and showers are great. Quiet, feels remote even though you're only a couple miles off the main road. Will definitely stay here again when we're in the area.

It was a long and bumpy ride to our site, but worth every bounce! Beautifully tended, thoughtfully laid out plan with everything we needed and then some. The showers were big enough for two, which was convenient, and the Wi-Fi was clear and strong the entire time. Firewood placed at the site was an added bonus. Was more than satisfied!

Awesome property. I only stayed for a night and rolled in pretty late, but it was very clean and easy enough to navigate. The bathrooms are the nicest I’ve ever seen at a campground in a state/national park or Hipcamp.

Paisano Azul Ranch is on 30 acres located by Terlingua Creek. The property is just minutes from the Terlingua Ghost Town and a short 3 mile drive to the Big Bend National park. Come pitch your tent or park your camper amid the peaceful desert hillside with views of plateaus that lead to the Chisos Mountains in Big Bend National Park. There is a fire pit on site for you to toast marshmallows or cozy up near, and you can enjoy a bite to eat at the picnic table provided at each site. The picnic tables are placed beneath shade sails. There are two nice and new desert tan flushing Porta-Potties on-site, as well as showers for guests to use. These come in handy after a long day hiking. We hope you'll enjoy the beautiful open sky sunsets, sunrises, and stargazing as much as we do. We are located just 3 miles from the entrance to Big Bend National Park. There are plenty of opportunities to get out and explore - you can hike, bike, canoe camp; kayak, off-road, swim, go horseback riding, visit hot springs, as well as visit restaurants, galleries, and listen to great music in Terlingua. There is something for everyone to feel free to bring the whole family. DIRECTIONS: Once you are on Road Runner Circle, go past the house on the left with the Christmas lights on. Please continue down the road and follow the road around the curve to the left. The campsites will be on the left and side behind the rock walls. The campsite number that is booked is the campsite you will stay in. Additional details to note: - We now have an above ground pool to keep cool in during the summer! Covered with a shade sail the water stays nice and chilly. ($10 fee/person) - You can stay connected if you'd like to, as cell reception and wifi are both available by the showers. Feel free to unplug during your stay though. - Seeing other campers on your trip at the campsite is very standard, as the sites are far enough apart to feel like they are yours, but they are not private. - Potable water is provided on-site. We have an artisan well on property that has been certified as drinkable. The showers and potable water is located approximately 1/4 mile from campsites 1-7. Rio Bravo Ranch

Rio Bravo Ranch is a family owned ranch that borders the Rio Grande and Casa Piedra Road. We have cultured a love for camping and the outdoors on this ranch as children and young adults. One day we were sitting on "the backside," enjoying the amazing vistas, solitude and a campfire when the idea came to us that we should share this amazing place with others seeking this type of experience. We tried to think about what makes camping enjoyable to us - no immediately adjacent campers, a nice fire ring/shade structure, a nice, large tent site and vistas with unobstructed views. We have incorporated this into our campground design which, when completely finished, will encompass several hundred acres of Chihuahuan desert vistas. We are also fortunate enough to have a large riparian area on the property. It is in this area, amongst the 40ft tall cottonwood and willows, we often find Gambel's Quail, Scaled Quail, Javelina and numerous bird species including the occasional turkey. We would love nothing more than to share this wonderful place, where we grew up, with souls seeking solitude, adventure and inspiration. Our eastern entrance is just a few miles outside the Big Bend Ranch State Park boundary, conveniently located on Casa Piedra road about 1.6 miles north of FM 170.

Tierra del Sol Basecamp

The Tierra del Sol Basecamp is an open desert camping area located within Terlingua Ranch, 3 miles off of Hwy 118, 19 miles north of Study Butte and 22 miles to the entrance to Big Bend National Park. This region of far west Texas is well known for its remote ruggedness and beauty rapidly becoming the go-to place for those wanting to get away from it all, without having to spend a fortune to do it. It’s one of the last frontiers of North America and One of the only two National Parks in Texas. The Basecamp will reside on the 40 acre property. In the center is an area of approximately 6 acres flat, with rising limestone ridge lines to the east and west, open skyline to south with a view of Bofecillos Mountains, an area characterized by volcanic deposits of lava and ash-flow tuff and sedimentary deposits of conglomerates and sandstones. The four mountain tops; Packsaddle, Hen Egg, Panther and Agua Fria Mountains provide an amazing view during the day and at night, breathtaking night time views of the Milky Way and the multitudes of stars to gaze upon unlike any other place in North America. The morning sunrise over the eastern mesa brings its own spectacular views. Surrounding the 40 acres are many things of archaeological wonder. A Rock Hounds dream of minerals, stones and fossilized prehistoric microorganisms, as well as, the potential of finding the fossils of large prehistoric aquatic mammals. Yes, you are free to take a small sample of the thousands of quartz and calcite stones found in huge abundance. As you come to then end of Mailbox Rd., you'll see a residence to your left. This is "The Field Lab", owned by the well know sustainable engineer John Wells. If you'd like to pay him a visit, please contact him in advance.
