La Sierrita @ Rio Bravo Ranch
Camping!
We stayed at La Sierrita on the property. Astonished by the stars, we took the top off the tent each night and I’m not sure it gets better than this campsite. The dark skies, sunrises and sunsets make you believe you might be in heaven. We will absolutely be back.

Great spot near BBRSP
The tent camping was perfect. We utilized the unused ranch road above Rio Bravo 1 for pitching tents since we needed to fit in 2 small tents and that area was flat and clear. Lauren's directions were clear and easy to follow to reach Rio Bravo 1 and everything was well marked. The "Chinati Potty" might have been the cleanest porta potty we've ever been in. The location of the ranch is a perfect jumping off point for BBRSP.

Star Party @ Rio Bravo Ranch 4x4req
Star Party at Rio Bravo offered a perfectly rugged, minimalist Hipcamp--- excellent for a night under the stars.
Take your high-clearance, 4x4 vehicle and enjoy the natural beauty! Star Party is quiet, secluded, and peaceful. Immersed within desert flora, and flanked by weather-worn geographical features, Star Party is great place to kick back with your closest friends, and enjoy a memorable night around the fire. Far enough off the beaten path to feel private, but not so
remote as to seem inconvenient, this Hipcamp would be ideal if you’re looking to book a star-studded stay near the quaint town of Presidio. Oh, and if you happen to be a rock-hound, this place will put a huge grin on your face. There is an abundance of unique and beautiful rock
samples scattered all over the property.
My husband and I had so much fun scouring the grounds for interesting finds! Thank you for sharing your delightful, desert Hipcamp with us! We greatly enjoyed it!

Stunning view!
This set of canpsites is absolutely phenomenal! We stayed at the La Sierrita site, and the view was stunning. If you are stargazing in particular, this site does have Presidio in the distance, but we were still able to see many many stars. The hosts are super responsive and communicative, and the sites are well maintained and marked. 10/10 plan to stay again!

Best Site Ever, Best Trip Ever
We've been camping for nearly two decades, and THIS was the best site ever, and turned out to be the best little camping trip ever for us two humans & three dogs.
Rio Bravo 2 has it all: The scenery is stunning: mountain views in the distance, miles and miles of cool desert scenery and big big skies above. Stars, sunrises, sunsets - don't miss them! The site is perfect - spacious, easy to drive to (we drove a Forester towing a small tent on a trailer), with a shade shelter, picnic table, fire ring, and rain-catchment water source, plus a porta-potty and shower station a 1-minute drive (or 5-minute walk) away. The whole place has 100% privacy, and is 100% gorgeous.
The location is terrific - easy access to Big Bend Ranch State Park, close enough to Presidio to have good cell service (Verizon) if you care to stay tuned in.
Check-in was easy - and if, like us, you realize while you're about 30 minutes out that you didn't write down the gate lock code - you can get back on the HipCamp app in Presidio, which is about ten minutes from the site.
There aren't trash bins at the site (#critters), but one of BBRSP's facilities is about 5 minutes up the road, and you can toss a day's camp trash there. Basically, everything was easy and convenient.
Lauren answered all of our questions right away - we are so grateful she's sharing her family's slice of beautiful SWTX with us.
We'll be back!

Highly Recommend in Big Bend!
Rio Bravo Ranch is a jewel in the Texas Big Bend. Close enough to a city with more than a grocery store to make a run into town if necessary, yet far enough out to escape any noise, letting you enjoy the quietness of the area. The camping sites are impeccable, as are the well-marked roads. There is ample parking and camping space at every site, the provided shade structures are very welcomed, and each site is positioned far enough away from each other that you feel as though you are the only ones on the ranch. Likewise, sites are placed in great locations, positioned over nice arroyos or with views of the nearby Bofecillos Mountains and the peaks rising upward from across the border. The ranch is a visual treat in the morning and evenings for photographers, and you are always surrounded by Chihuahuan Desert nature. Lauren's instructions for campers are precise and very helpful, and she is very responsive to questions. This is the second time I've stayed at Rio Bravo Ranch, this time with a university photography class that explored both the ranch and the surrounding area. We were very well set up and will definitely return! Thank you, Rio Bravo Ranch!

Awesome site! We had a wonderful time. It is secluded and quiet with a great view. I know cold showers are not ideal, but it was pretty refreshing after being in the desert sun all day. We highly recommend for other tent campers

Star Party @ Rio Bravo Ranch 4x4req
5 stars for Star Party!
Remote, safe and stunning star gazing! Two tent sites plus a covered picnic table area are splendid. You do need a 4x4 high clearance vehicle for this particular spot on Lauren's land but she has other spots that work for city folk vehicles. We got to meet Lauren and her husband and they recommended Closed Canyon slot canyon trail in Big Bend State Park that was one of the highlights of our trip. A box of firewood purchase is a generous portion but we bought 2 because we like to sit by the fire longer than most people and it lasted us for our 3 night stay. You won't regret renting from Lauren. She's warm, welcoming and helpful. Star Party campsite is private and spacious. You will love it. FYI, the portajohn is back up the hill and not within walking distance from the Star Party campsite but I made a toilet for us out of wood, 5 gallon bucket and a toilet seat. I believe the other campsites are closer to the portajohn but check with the description or with Lauren. 5 stars!!!!

Great alternative to the parks
We booked this site as a backup in case we could not find any campsites as we passed through Big Bend National Park & Big Bend Ranch State Park. We found a site in BBR, but felt it wasn’t ideal and chose to drive to Rio Bravo, and we were so glad we did! Rio Bravo was easy to find and access (we arrived at night in complete darkness). It was a level spot that easily fit our Ford transit xl. The site is surrounded by beautiful views all around you, with a big night sky full of stars. We were able to see fellow hipcampers at the nearby site, but wasn’t a problem. Its also nice knowing there is a locked gate behind you.
