We're a five acre piece of an historic Texas ranch in Southwest San Antonio, just 20-minutes from downtown, sitting along the Medina River. Come for the day or stay the night for some primitive camping. We've got plenty of room for tents, roof-top-tent setups or car/van dry-camping.
We’re currently in the building/restoring process, but we’ll have some electrical, drinking water, fire pits, plenty of shade, compost toilets, water in the river, and plenty of good vibes.
Old Herrera Ranch has been in our family since the early 1800's and holds a lot history. A couple of our old buildings, the "jacals", are dated from around the 1830-40's. You'll also see the old "Dance Hall" which is great for hanging out or even some cover if it rains. They say that Santa Anna's army, invading from Mexico, may have crossed through our area on their way to the Alamo. This may be because our part of the river includes some of the more shallow areas of the Medina River. This Tipi resort in New Braunfels, TX offers eight cabins at on a glamping campsite in Texas. From the outside, they look like real Tipis and the interiors are a comfortable and modern cabin with sleeping for up to 6 guests! Each is fully furnished and air-conditioned. They all have a kitchenette with a sink, a small dorm-sized fridge, a 2 burner stove, and a large toaster oven. The Tipis are also perfect to rent one or a few for a small or large group. There are personal BBQ pits and fire pits, outdoor games like pingpong, tetherball, and corn hole, or bring your own! There is a scenic waterfront deck located down our walkable trail, called the Path of Positivity! Everything has been provided to ensure our guests enjoy a wonderful glamping experience! The river view is located down the trail from the Tipis!

This property has been in our family since the 1960's, and owned by close friends of the family since the house was built in 1910. Close access to San Marcos, Lockhart, and Luling. Public river access is just down the road.

Private, quiet, & easy to access spot with great amenities. There was a burn ban so I didn't use the fire ring, but the setup was great! The host, Bud was very responsive & welcoming. I enjoyed listening to the soft rain on the van roof while I read my book. Just the retreat I needed to reset. Would stay here again!

Everything was set up and ready exactly as advertised. I was the only person camping at the time and it was very private. Excellent site for primitive camping. There was a burn ban in effect and they even furnished a propane fire pit so I could still have a fire, and the fresh eggs were great for breakfast. I highly recommend a stay here.

My extended family was a large group and we had the place to ourselves. We had a great time exploring along the river and wandering through the prickly pear forest. Our dogs loved being able to run free. There happened to be no mosquitoes which made sleeping in the hammock perfect.

The treehouse is absolutely beautiful, it has so much charm. The view from the top is just as stunning as you would imagine and all af the levels of the treehouse are well thought out and maintained. My only complaint is that we didn't have the time to stay another night.
They are not lying about the driveway. It is rough but just adds to the secluded nature of the retreat.
Can't wait to come back and would recommend anyone to come experience it.

The RV ranch spot is secluded, quiet and lovely. Plenty of country. Plenty of privacy.
They have full coverage, a lovely home and a very kind family. They also have cows and chickens and eggs that you can buy. We're lucky enough to have been able to stay a number of times with them and we can't wait to do it again.
There's also quick and easy access to the river!

Awesome, family-friendly stay! All the creature comforts you need (plus even more than we are used to- a warm shower, towels and bedding provided, a well-stocked kitchen!) Campground is a short walk to the beautiful Guadalupe River! We had 7 kids across 3 tipis and everyone had a blast! The kids could roam safely around the campground games and grassy area while we cooked and relaxed. We can’t wait to go back!
