The location was perfect—remote enough to feel like a true escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, yet conveniently close to town if we wanted to venture out for supplies or a meal.
The campsite itself was well-maintained, with ample space for our tents and a fire pit that made for cozy evenings under the stars. I appreciated the balance of seclusion and accessibility, which made it easy to enjoy both the wilderness and the comforts of civilization.
Overall, I highly recommend this camping spot for anyone looking to escape and unwind.

We enjoyed our stay. Gabriela and her husband are wonderful responsive hosts who met us with smiles and literature about the area. The River Walk bike/hike trail is very close to the campground. We rode for 15 miles and had a wonderful time. We will definitely come back.

1 night at Mockingbird Farms
It was a quiet and pleasant stay. We stayed in the 2 person bunkhouse which was very cozy. The farm had some very friendly horses, goats and donkeys that we could feed treats to.
The kitchen in the farmhouse was also well stocked with utensils, coffee, and seasonings.
The pool was very refreshing in the hot sun.
The host was also extremely helpful in calling us and providing all details and responding to our texts during the stay.

Beautiful to be surrounded by horses and donkeys. I pitched my tent under oak trees and they kept me company all night. Loved the outdoor shower with hot water!! There was a restroom right next to the shower/tub. Cait was helpful with directions and answered any questions I had. Mockingbird farm is a true gem and I will be returning soon!

Our stay at Mockingbird Farms was perfect! It was our 2 year olds first camping experience and the privacy and safety this land provided was perfect. He adored the donkeys and still can’t stop talking about them. The hosts were so generous to offer the cabin when it started raining and coffee on the cool morning. The outdoor bath also made for an extra relaxing evening. We have already made recommendations to friends and will definitely be back ourselves!

Weekend Trip to Mockingbird Farms
Where do we start? The Boo Radley Bunkhouse was absolutely perfect — the bed was comfortable, and the space was cute, cozy, and well-equipped. The outdoor shower (with hot water!!) was great. And the path from the bunkhouse to the bathroom was easy to follow, which was a plus since we showed up late at night and had to find our way around. Cait and her merry band of misfits (engaging family, escape artist goats, and other two- and four- legged friends) kept us frequently entertained, but also gave us space to enjoy our anniversary trip undisturbed. We got lucky with the weather and got to light a campfire and look at the stars, but I don't think hearing rain on the bunkhouse's tin roof would've been too bad either. We will definitely be back!!!
Highly recommend making the 45ish minute drive to Freidrich Wilderness Park as well — we saw/ heard several endangered birds, and the varied terrain (especially the Vista Loop) made for unexpectedly good hiking so close to San Antonio.

Weekend Trip to Mockingbird Farms
Mockingbird Farms is beautiful, safe, and serene. We had everything we needed in the bunkhouse for “glamping,” but I think tent camping here would also be a great experience. The farm has donkeys, horses, and goats — they are all super gentle and love people, and the host gave us animal crackers to feed them! Everything was very comfortable — plenty of hot water in the outdoor shower, AC unit in the bunkhouse, super comfortable bed. The host Cait was great to communicate with before the trip, and we got to visit with her for a bit on the property, she is so nice! Quick, easy access to the nearby towns (Somerset and Poteet) for meals and gas / dollar stores if you forgot to pack something. I believe this property would be very safe for solo campers, as well. I can’t recommend Mockingbird Farms enough — we’ll definitely be back!

This was our second time out there and we brought some friends. Everyone was amazed with the landscape and night time views. Warren and his family came by the camp to chat and were extremely hospitable. We are already talking about a 3rd trip before the Texas heat really kicks in. This is an overlanders dream come true.

Nice private space and convenient location. For many, the Espada Mission and the South end of the River Walk with e bike rental is literally within walking distance of Gabriella's land. The campground is cozy with just 5 spots. And there are nice touches: Each campsite has its own name, there are multiple bird feeders and picnic tables, and there is a nice landscaped area behind the campsites framed with rocks. We stayed in mid-Match and there were lots of songbirds to wake up to. Gabriela and Clemente are wonderful, warm, informative and attentive hosts. The campground is literally in their backyard and they come out daily to ensure everything is working out for everyone and that all questions are answered. This was a wonderful place to stay during our visit to San Antonio. Recommend!!

Where to start with mockingbird farms?
Let's start with the vibes... IMMACULATE!
We arrived shortly after 11 and were greeted by the group of goat ambassadors we pulled onto the land and my god is it beautiful! Gorgeous land with wonderful shade trees.
The powder room is by far the nicest and best put together in any hip camp we've been to, the outside shower and tub area was like a small slice of shangri la.
All the animals were curious and sweet making the stay that much better!
We only stayed one night but it was the most relaxed and comfortable my wife and I have been for months we can not wait to stay again!!

We loved the Haby Ranch. This was our second time staying here. Back during the eclipse and during spring break this year and although is a drive for us coming from Houston, but the drive is worth it. The land is so beautiful and peaceful, the BEST part is being able to bring out Dogs and let them roam all over the terrain, the first time it was a group of 11 people and 5 dogs, I can honestly say our dogs had the time of their life.
Warren is such a great host and always greed us and let us know what all the things we can do in the land.
The stars at night are breathtaking and the sun sets are so peaceful.
Will definitely recommend this place.

Just like the title says. The weekend was perfect and so were the views. 1100 acres offers a lot of room for wandering with plenty of dirt roads to get your tires dirty and space to stretch your legs. No RV hookups, but there is an Rv dump station right outside of Bandera. So be prepared to boondock or tent camp. The only neighbors we had were the co s and the frogs from the nearby creek. This is an overland adventure you don’t want to pass up.
