Waterfront RV Port on Bolivar Peninsula. Water, sewer, and electric (20-30-50 amp panel) Covered RV spot with a screen porch. Property is fenced and dogs are welcome. The screened has a dining table with chairs, and also stores some patio chairs to use on the property. They are really great to sit on the dock! There is also a charcoal grill and a crab trap for you to use. (You need a fishing license and bait. Chicken bones works great!)
Fishing is great here... the canals have been dredged and folks are catching right of the back of their lots. Community fishing area is on the end of both Van Sant and Mabry, Mabry has a boat ramp. These you cast right off a drop to the intracoastal. Beach Access via community gate at end of street. Combination for those will be shared in arrival instructions.
Spot is a residential lot... It is 60 x 130. Canal City is a quiet residential area. The back side fronts on the water. You will probably see more seagulls and purple martins than people.
We have weekly discounts. Message me and I can go over them because the Hipcamp platform makes them difficult. It works out to approximately 7 nights for the price of 5.
Be prepared: Bolivar has mosquitoes. This is the coast. If it has rained they can be really bad. The county sprays on a regular rotation but it can be bad. They tend to swarm when you pull in. Spray helps. We also send recommendations for what sprays work best for us in the arrival instructions. We do not offer refunds for mosquitoes. We have never found them unmanageable, and the screen porch keeps them almost entirely away.
We are east of Rollover Pass. Easiest to arrive through Winnie and south on 124. Unless you are coming from Galveston or southeast Houston it is probably shorter. The ferry is fun (dolphins and such) but the waits can be long. Also: Do not bring loose propane tanks or gasoline cans on the ferry, they will send you away. (Propane on RV is fine, but that is all they allow)

Village creek is known for its beautiful white sandbars and use to be home to a tribe of Indians in the early 1800's as groups of Indian tribes settled along the gulf coast.
This park was originally built as a mobile home park in the late 1960's and renovated to accommodate RV's in the 1980's. After Hurricane Harvey destroyed the area in August of 2017 the property and completely re-vamped it in order to truly appreciate all it has to offer. We currently have 31 RV spaces and 2 cabins and laundry facilities. There is a 3 acre pond for fishing or kayaking. The park is secluded and quiet. It was good for value but nothing exciting. Kids loved the animals roaming everywhere but the RV powered sites are right at the entrance of the property, little charm. There is only one 30 Amp outlet so if the other site is using it, bad luck. There is no water connecting near by either, hoses are available from the house but we did not feel comfortable to get a use them. Host did not respond to any of our messages via Hipcamp and when we arrived and called to know where to go, the phone line was disconnected. So we had to go knocking. We did not feel welcome really.
Price was good though and it might be an oasis (as describe) when camping a little more in but from the site we had, it was just a parking spot.

The Nauti Pelican spot was top notch, 5 star, absolutely recommend. The place was easy to find, close to everything and 2 blocks from the beach. We absolutely loved our time here and would love to come back someday! Thanks Mike!

Delightful, funky, funny-farm with camping spots on a pond. Horses, chickens, goats, turkeys and a wise old dog are all part of the adventure. We thoroughly enjoyed our stopover on Allyssa’s property.

The natural wetlands of the Snow White Sanctuary were absolutely beautiful! We arrived late (well after dark) but the hosts came out and showed us where we could set up our tent. The dogs were so friendly and came out to greet us. We heard the horses too, but we only saw them in the morning. (Callie, the mare, wasn't too fond of being pet, but she didn't mind being admired from afar :) The only downside to this location is that there aren't really any hiking trails (only one that goes around their property, definitely less than a mile). There was a slight mishap as we were leaving (there are a lot of dogs, mostly rescued, at this location and their neighbors) and some of them got in a dogfight near the gate. But Alyssa came out and it was resolved. The animals are all very tolerant towards people, and I would recommend Snow White Sanctuary to anyone wanting to experience Louisiana's natural wetlands in a peaceful, animal-filled environment!

Alyssa is so welcoming. She and her family have created a lovely experience for both animals and guests. The goat milk soap is fabulous. We enjoyed the friendly animals milling around our camper. This was our 2nd time here and it was just as special.

We loved it! A great price and a safe place to set your tent. Very welcoming atmosphere. NOTE: you will not be without noise from the many friendly animals who share the space (dogs, roosters, chickens.)

The host was extremely friendly. Loved all of the animals. We unfortunately were only passing through on our cross-country road trip showed up at night and then had to leave pretty early in the morning. But it was a really cool experience. All of the animals were friendly. While we were cooking dinner a sweet dog came up to us and then a horse walked past our tent site that was really cool. Shared bathroom which was really nice, and we didn't take showers, but you could take shower if you needed. The host has some cool projects going on the property. Which we kindly invited us to check out.

Easy check-in, good price, quiet, and level concrete pads. No luck seeing the northern lights but could see the stars well. Just down the street from the main driving entry to Crystal Beach / the Zoo and the gas station that sells driving permits for the beach.

Edge of the Waters was perfect for what we needed. We really enjoyed the screen porch and the property was fenced for my dogs and also made us feel more secure being behind a fence. Everything was just as it was stated on the website. The canal behind the house was enjoyable. We could see water even though we were not right on the beach.

Was amazing! Kid friendly and just people friendly in general! Tons for the kids to see and do animals galore we really enjoyed having the dogs pop by through out the night the kids loved them. The only thing that bothered us slightly were the bugs, but once we got the fire going we were golden! Easy 5 star experience!

I loved staying at Snow White animal sanctuary. We got to enjoy the property and all the diversity of farm animals and wildlife that are abundant on the land. The property is green, lush and gorgeous. The animals graze all around you at all hours.
