In 2013, we bought our 13 acres from a larger parcel of land that had been owned and farmed by the Snider family for 150 years. (Note that we live on Snider Lane). The Sniders played an important part in the development of our town, Lucas, and surrounding schools. The rest of the land has been sold to two families, and all three purchasers (that includes us!) are establishing small family farms. Hurray! Plus the Snider's old house and barn next door are being renovated by the new owners! Since 2013, we have brought in water and electricity to the land, built fences, a house and several barns. We have a flock of chickens, a bunch of loud, nosey Nubian dairy goats, 2 cats and 2 dogs. We farm organic vegetables, and have planted some fruit trees. We are committed to conservation of our land and the wildlife that call it home, and are working to restore our wildflower meadow (location of the campsite) to original prairie state. When the sun comes up, you'll have many choices to make--cycling, horseback riding, fishing, boating, paddling, hiking, running, strolling, visiting with the goats, cats and chickens, helping with farm chores, or just sitting to enjoy the peace and serenity of the farm. There are many great shopping and eating choices withing 15 miles. Breakfast will be brought to your campsite for an additional fee, booked in advance. Horse pasture rentals is available, also booked in advance. (We do not offer horseback riding,) Eggs, local honey, seasonal veggies, baked goods artisan food products, goat milk products and firewood are available for sale. No dirt bikes, ATVs or RTVs; no motorcycles except as transportation. No discharge of firearms allowed. No hunting, no bows and arrows, no fireworks. Every camper group or RV group must have at least one person over 21 in the group. We do not have any horses to rent or ride.

The camp grounds are very nice and fairly well thought out. A little difficult to know where to go but once you figure out the layout it's a little easier. I love that it was just a short walk from most of the campsites to the restrooms. A little more info about what to expect and also where the showers were located would help. Showers were fair except the wooden backsplash was kinda gross. Oh well. I'm just glad there were showers with hot water etc. Would def recommend and will def return

We were very close to the showers and the toilet. There was a large trashcan right at the campsite. Even though the hipcampers were relatively close to one another in proximity, the cedar grove of trees provided a lot of privacy, it was very peaceful and quiet the Sat night we stayed.

The water park was inactive due to the off season, and staying here made us want to come back when the park is fully operational. Great location only about 16 min to the Stockyards. My family and I had a great time! Rick was a perfect host. We mentioned wanting to do some fishing, so he put us near the pond. We were able to catch some decent-sized largemouth bass and bluegill. At our camp, we were visited by many of the animals roaming around. Willie and Doc really enjoyed hanging around our camp.

Wonderful, quiet place to stay. Hosts were great, Eddie is friendly and respectful. Made sure I had firewood and gate access. Very clean out toilet close by. Quick communication, Rod is very responsive. First time solo camping and as a woman alone, I felt safe! Once I went to bed I never heard anyone. Just quiet and peaceful. My site was slightly off the road; serene area with fire pit. Electric outlet. Some sites have 30 amps or 15 amps for hookups.

We loved this spot! My dog is older now so it was really nice to have him be able to run around in a big field with soft grass. I put his booties on when we walked through the trails. The lake is gorgeous and peaceful, the woods are fun to explore, and the campsite is clean and private. Jamie was so welcoming. We will definitely be back here.
