We really enjoyed our stay here. Communication was great from the beginning and they were super hospitable to us during our stay here. We only got to spend a limited time here since we were there to visit inks lake and enchanted rock during the day. It was just a short drive to both and very convenient. Had so much fun trying to get pictures with the longhorns too. Hopefully we can come back and visit again.

Daniel's Bluebonnet campsite is nicely situated near the flush toilet/shower and water spicket. The cows and donkey visited us frequently - loved it. Hiking through the back property was peaceful and beautiful. There was occasional road noise mixed with the coyote yips but not enough to matter. Great fire pit/grill! Daniel responding immediately when we needed anything. If you think the well water has an odd aroma, ask Daniel about the water in that area. We enjoyed conversing with him.

Weekend Trip to White House Winery/Brewery

Great location inside the gates of White House Winery/ Brewery. The camping spot is on the east side of the property with the tasting room on one side, a pasture with cows behind and grape vines to the east. The water and electric hook up worked great for our camper. There is a public restroom a few yards away that was available to us even after the winery closed which was convenient. After hours we had the outdoor areas to ourself but we mostly stayed in campsite area. Brandon, the owner, was very kind and helpful. We dont drink much but we did do a wine tasting and sampled a few of the beers which my husband really loved. I bought a chilled bottle of rose' to enjoy later. The location was great with easy access to Johnson City where there is an Ace Hardware and restaurants as well as a longer drive to Fredericksburg which is an amazing German Texas town with all you might need including a WalMart if you forgot a prescription or need camping supplies. Of course winery are abundant. We will be back.

Surrounded by hill country nature. On a lovely lil creek . Listen to the Grape Creek critters where the coyotes sing you to sleep ! This is a perfect for a kicked back getaway. It's a working ranch so you'll hear Bossy cow and the gang casually chatting. As they're chewing the cud. Equipped with a comfortable seating area . An outdoor shower , water and electric. Catch and release fishing. Tons of birds and a gaggle of turkeys across the way. A friendly host with a welcoming smile . A grill , fire ring , tons of shade and couple of turtles for neighbors. We were at site 1 . I would advise a canoe or kayak for fishing as the water lillies are thick . Our stay was completely enjoyable and we look forward to the next visit !

Weekend Trip to Down Horn Ranch

We had a great time camping here. We were the only people on the entire property, so we had our run of the place. We actually ended up picking site #1 instead of #3. (The photo is of site #1). The property is big enough that even if all 6 sites were fully rented out, you would have complete privacy in whichever site you use. There's a bathroom & shower on the property which was nice & clean. It's a dirt road to sites 2-6, and I think for sites 4-6 you may be better off with a higher clearance vehicle and/or 4WD. You might be OK without it, but I'd say it's borderline through one little spot after site 3 where you cross a very small creek then drive up a hill. Overall this is a great property and I highly recommend it.

The host met us at the gate and made us feel very welcomed, even though it was a bit after midnight. FIVE STARS! This Hipcamp stay at the vineyard near Hamilton Pool Reserve was an unforgettable escape. Secluded but completely safe, it felt like staying on a friend’s private ranch, and the host? A total gem, like that fun uncle who hands you a glass of wine and instantly makes you feel at home. The campsite was nice with level ground with plenty of shade to tuck in our Van away for the hot TX sun. There are clean bathrooms next to the testing room backyard open 24-7. The vineyard was stunning, but the real highlight was the wine tasting with rich, complex wines served with stories and heart. We also took a dip at the near by crystal-clear waters at Reimers Ranch Park it was totally refreshing and made us feel like we had our own private swimming hole. Between the peaceful setting, the genuine hospitality, and the beautiful natural spots nearby, this place is the kind of stay you never forget. Already dreaming about our next trip back.
