50’ or less from the ICW to fish or crab. I did throw cast for live bait (Shrimp, shad and mullets when the sun rises) Mother nature unfortunately was tough during the Memorial Day weekend, but it was nice to hear the ocean and just relax.

4 nights at No Moss Island

This was our 2nd time on Sargent beach and it was a much different experience than our first. We came for Memorial Day weekend so it was much busier than our last visit. Our previous site had sustained damage from the hurricane so we decided to try something new. The location was incredible. Great views, good fishing spot on the waterway and a good spot on the beach for swimming. The concrete plots were bigger than we expected which was really nice for our large travel trailer and family. We probably wouldn’t come back during a holiday weekend in the future. We chose to return to Sargent beach for its peaceful nature and remote feel, but it was pretty rowdy over Memorial Day weekend. We were disappointed with the host, who never responded to questions or reached out before or during our booking. They had someone come and spray our belongings with mosquito spray without our permission. And the landscaping crew came the following morning while we were fishing. I think it’s great the site is well maintained, but timing is also important. This maintenance should have been done outside a busy and fully booked holiday. Overall, we had a great time, the site is beautiful, and we will probably return on a less busy weekend next year.

A great location to go fishing. I caught a shark and whiting and my husband caught a variety of fish in the intercoastal. The only down side is the amount of glass on the beach. We will definitely be back though.

Very nice, even had sewer hookup, which I wasn’t expecting, so it has full hookups except for no cable TV . Best part, it has the ship channel on the back side and the beach is right in front of it !!

This is a really nice private, quiet neighborhood and place to stay. We enjoyed 3 nights here. Our kids had lots of fun finding neat shells ,flying their kite, and going for walks! It’s a very friendly place to relax with the sounds of the ocean only a short distance away! Thank you!

7 nights at No Moss Island

The spot itself is lovely however getting there can be a bit bumpy. There is a lot of reconstruction going on after hurricane damage so lots of heavy trucks running the one road. For the private drive if a very rough ride and mud are an issue then beware. It is obviously out in no man's land but we loved that. Driving the beach which definitely needs a 4 wheel drive was awesome. Shelling was fun but the wind and cold not much. We're Michiganders so we're used to that but that may determine what time of year to visit as it was cold and no wind breaks. But wowza, what an awesome view. The only problem was where to look first. There were a couple issues but they were dealt w pronto. This was a definite 5 star location for us.

Tjona and family went above and beyond making sure we felt welcome, from inviting us in for a home cooked meal, to helping us get our bus unstuck after a few days of rain. Can't wait to visit again to see all the renovations they have coming!

2 nights at Camp Nadur at Sargent Beach

I had 2 back-to-back reservations so fortunately I get to leave 2 reviews 😀. When I visited camp it was indeed an unusually high tide caused by a disturbance in the Gulf of Mexico pushing a lot more water up than usual but Camp was still high and dry. A few days later a North Wind pushed in and sent the water back where it belongs allowing me to walk with boots on over to the gulf Shoreline to get some fishing in right in front of the camp. Bring any food with you that you will need because there's not much available in town except for a dollar general which is surprisingly well stocked with food and produce. If you like you can search YouTube for Dollar "General walkthrough Sargeant Texas" to see everything they have to offer locally. Fresh produce arrives Tuesdays and Saturdays so get there early if you need it because the whole town shows up. I also highly recommend joining the savings sargeant FB page before your trip which can provide excellent local information. Excellent place to camp and don't forget the mosquito spray :-)

3 nights at Camp Nadur at Sargent Beach

Camp Nudar was perfect for me this past week. I took my Bed-over-cab truck bed camper down there pulling my Waverunner to do some fishing. The hosts were VERY easy to contact through the HipcampCamp app, very pleasant and professional and accommodating. Cant beat the price on this down there either for an Oceanfront campsight. 30 and 50 amp service is setup on the East side of the site so bring your longer extension cord for more flexibility on how deep into the site you can back in. I only had a 30' and parked exactly where I wanted to bt I have a fairly compact rig. Site is reasonably level on crushed stone that was very stable for me in my 14,000 lb dually with the camper loaded even after a massive rainstorm. I had small boards under my camper legs that did not dig in one bit after almost an entire week so it was perfect for my 1200 lbs per camper leg free standing on it. The driveway is a good length if you happen to have a spare vehicle that needs to parked in front of your camper...and then some. Perfect water pressure on the hose bib according to my pressure meter and breaker never tripped. Bring some rubber boots or reef boots and you can easily walk from the camp the 75' or so to the big granite blocks that line the Gulf shore. Bring a surf rod to get past the first few Breakers to the deeper water for fishing. Less than 5 minutes from Joey's boat launch ($5 to launch). Great site and a perfect place for a weeks getaway! Thanks for the memories!

Nestled between the Gulf of Mexico and the Intercoastal Waterway, Sargent Island, with its unique, water-front home sites, was created in the 1950s. A quiet community, we feel Sargent is an oasis away from the crowds and congestion of other beach-side communities. We love taking a break from our busy lives to listen to the waves roaring down the shore. We think you'll love it, too! Learn more about this land: This is a 8000 sq ft privately owned, ocean-side lot. Located on a barrier island in Sargent, TX, the site offers a neighborhood atmosphere, with a secluded, unobstructed beach view. There is an approximately 30x30 gravel pad and long driveway. The property is beach front, but dune area/beach may not be accessible by foot (depends on tidal flow, rainfall, Gulf storms etc.). Full beach access is about 1/4 mile down the road. This is a subdivision--there is a neighbor on our right side. This is an RV lot only. This property suits smaller to midsize RVs and most wheeled campers (but no ground tents--there is too much ground wildlife for safety, though elevated, vehicle-mounted tents are fine). The property is still in development. We currently have electricity (110v, 30, 50 amp), water, but NO SEWER OR SEPTIC. You must bring your own toilet facilities with you and take the waste away. NOTE: Public Toilet facilities and trash available 1.5 miles away. We do provide a picnic table, but it changes often--we lose them in storms, lol. You'll also have a clothes line and a canopy as wind/storms permit. If you're an introvert, dislike traffic or just like breathing room, you'll love quiet, crowd-free, Sargent beach. It's such a peaceful getaway! ISLAND LIFE NOTE: This is the Texas Gulf Coast--we have mosquitos, and it's the state bird for a reason! Please bring SPRAY. We never guarantee a bug-free experience. This gorgeous, island property is vulnerable to the extreme weather conditions on the Texas Gulf Coast. It's a dynamic property, shifting and changing, depending on the weather--we try our best to maintain this property in a timely manner, but we can't control this Mother Nature factor! There may be times we cannot put up the shade canopy due to high winds, other aspects of the property may have shifted, there may not be a beach due to high tides, you may not be able to walk to the beach from the property, etc. Please ask questions and we'll communicate what's available at your booking time.
