In 2013, we bought our 13 acres from a larger parcel of land that had been owned and farmed by the Snider family for 150 years. (Note that we live on Snider Lane). The Sniders played an important part in the development of our town, Lucas, and surrounding schools. The rest of the land has been sold to two families, and all three purchasers (that includes us!) are establishing small family farms. Hurray! Plus the Snider's old house and barn next door are being renovated by the new owners! Since 2013, we have brought in water and electricity to the land, built fences, a house and several barns. Great camping spot. Stephanie and Richie were great hosts. We camped with a 6, 3 and 2 years old children. Stephanie and Richie very accommodating and allowed the children to play with the farm animals. We would camp here again.

Weekend Trip to Tara Vineyard & Winery estate

Had an awesome tent camping experience here at Tara Vineyard and Winery! First of there are adorable animals 💜. Secondly the bathroom amenities were super clean! Note that the shower is an outdoor shower so be sure to bring a bathing suit to shower in. The shower water was lukewarm, but honestly didn’t bother me. Overall had a great time camping here. Sadly, we didn’t make time to try out the winery, but guess we’ll have to come back and try it out! The charcuterie boards looked amazing though 😍!

Weekend Trip to Fieldsong Farm

Fieldsong Farm was the perfect spot to introduce our two children (both under 4yo) to the camping experience! The property is peaceful, beautifully maintained, and the perfect place to slow down and enjoy time together. We loved how easy it was to set up and feel right at home — the open field, surrounding trees, and cozy atmosphere made it feel like the perfect little getaway even though it was only 10minutes from our house! The hosts were kind and welcoming, and everything was just as described. Our kids loved getting to meet the goats, dogs, and cats the next morning while getting a garden tour from Richard too. It was the ideal mix of nature, comfort, and simplicity. We’ll definitely be back and highly recommend Fieldsong Farm to any family looking for a special camping experience.

My second time out to the location. Grass was a little longer this time but it didn't take away from my ability to setup camp, make a good meal, and relax enjoying the outdoors. Though every place in Texas has them, I didn't run into any ant hills where I setup.

4 nights at A Little Piece of Paradise

This little slice of heaven was fantastic! The tub and the shower were an out-of-body experience. The kitchen was well stocked and everything worked! We enjoyed daily walks around the acreage, including the pier over the pond with the glass bottom and the sweet ponies who loved pets. The floor in the cabin was astounding. Many various materials and colors are beautifully patchworked around the entire cabin. It does make it inaccessible for people with mobility issues (but there aren’t any accessible entrances to the cabin either). Gilberto responded quickly and worked hard to make the space very welcoming. We will definitely be back and have already suggested it to several friends.

The land is expansive, perfect for group camping with plenty of flat, open space. It can get windy, and the hum of the interstate is noticeable, but it never distracted from the peaceful outdoor experience or a restful night’s sleep. I look forward to returning, whether with others or for another solo getaway.

My family had a great time! Extremely accommodating host and the whole experience was simple which let us concentrate on having fun. We stayed there mainly at night and explored Texas during the day. It sure was nice knowing we had a nice place to return to each evening. It was like having our own personal campground.
