Come stay in our sweet semi off grid cabin just between Austin and Marble Falls Tx. Near beautiful Lake Travis. There’s a short somewhat steep hike from the parking area by the road up to the cabin. Again the trail is steep and approximately 30 yards long. Keep this in mind because your belongings will have to be carried up the trail. If you have 4x4 you can drive up top closer to the cabin. This is a glamping experience and you will need sleeping pads, bags and pillows. We do not provide bedding. The cabin sleeps 4. 2 on the futon and 2 (preferably kids sized humans) up in the loft. There is electricity but no running water, so bring water. There a/c heat and a mini fridge/freezer. Also a sweet vintage hifi system with a good vinyl collection. Turkey Bend recreation area on Lake Travis it’s just a couple of miles down the road. Marble Falls and Austin are both about the same distance away approximately 17 miles. Hidden Falls adventure Park is approximately 7 miles away. Lago Vista Texas is the closest city with restaurants and gas stations and grocery stores. This property is on a dirt road and light pollution in minimal so this is a great place to stargaze! The parking area is also dirt and somewhat uneven. Perfect hybrid camping spot where you can rough it without plumbing while enjoying a cozy indoor with electricity. Complete with a perfect campfire setup and gas grill if you choose. My boy and I actually pitched a tent on the deck, which was perfect!

What a wonderful property! We stayed in the Blue Loft Eco-cabin and loved it! Travis was super helpful with the instructions, accommodations and activities at Living Waters and nearby. Very friendly guests in neighboring lodges and peaceful river atmosphere. Can’t wait to go back!

The Happy Horse Hotel had everything we could ask for; from the cozy cabin, clean horse pens, nice outhouses, and onsite trails, to the nearby attractions such as the McKinney Roughs Nature Park, the Bastrop Museum, and the various local shops. We had a wonderful time and look forward to visiting again! - Arianna S. The Camping Palace was quite lovely, it had everything we needed. The trip was so relaxing and I loved the scenery in the early mornings. The camp house was really comfortable and had ample supplies for a welcoming camp weekend. We also took a Harmonica class with Hollis and had a blast learning from such a talented musician. Can’t wait to come again some time!

1 night at Hill Country Nature Retreat

The treehouse is absolutely beautiful, it has so much charm. The view from the top is just as stunning as you would imagine and all af the levels of the treehouse are well thought out and maintained. My only complaint is that we didn't have the time to stay another night. They are not lying about the driveway. It is rough but just adds to the secluded nature of the retreat. Can't wait to come back and would recommend anyone to come experience it.

The Baithouse was so adorable, perfect for me and my husband. The camp hosts were amazing, especially due to all the major flooding happening around us, kept us updated to current conditions, etc We had an amazing experience even though we didn’t get to explore much due to the weather. The bunkhouse was clean and comfortable. We had everything we needed for our few days away. Grounds were peaceful and quiet, perfect for watching deer and hummingbirds from our little deck. Paddling the lake was just lovely. Highly recommend.

Weekend Trip to Tipis on the Guadalupe

Awesome, family-friendly stay! All the creature comforts you need (plus even more than we are used to- a warm shower, towels and bedding provided, a well-stocked kitchen!) Campground is a short walk to the beautiful Guadalupe River! We had 7 kids across 3 tipis and everyone had a blast! The kids could roam safely around the campground games and grassy area while we cooked and relaxed. We can’t wait to go back!

I would highly recommend staying at the Happy Horse Camp! The cabins have a lovely, quaint vibe and are clean with a solid set of amenities. Showers and bathrooms are available, and the on site nature walk with the scavenger hunt is very fun. Beaux and Hollis went above and beyond to make our experience enjoyable. I proposed to my fiance and they helped set up the proposal location on the nature walk. My fiance was very suprised and it made for a magical day:) Huge thanks to Beaux and Hollis for their help and responsiveness.

Weekend Trip to Happy Horse Camp & RV Getaway

What went well? EVERYTHING was better than described or expected. My wife and I were met by Bo (sorry if not the spelling). Smiling from ear to ear and just an overall wonderful person. He helped us take our things to our cabin and described different things that we could do. Everything from a scavenger hunt to harmonica lessons. Beautiful property nestled away from traffic or prying eyes. The cabins are spaced well far apart so you do not feel like others are in your business. I could not believe how well stocked the cabin was. Plenty of blankets, heaters, ceiling fans, air conditioning, cookware, microwave - this was literally the easiest camping experience I've ever had and I'm 55 lol. They also have a fire pit area for each individual cabin to make the experience even nicer. We spent 2 evenings and just had a blast. There are plenty of places to get wonderful food, beverages or any other thing you and your family might need. This is a must stop for camping on a wonderful level. Each cabin also had its own 5 star outhouse and 5 star is the truth! Absolutely cleaner than public restrooms with every necessity. I highly recommend this camping spot!
