. These are unique camping spots along the Guadalupe River. I didn’t exactly understand how unique until I started getting feedback from my campers. The surrounding scenery will lower your blood pressure and do wonders to let you reconnect with nature. Sit back and close your eyes late in the evening and listen to all the wildlife talking to each other. There is faint traffic noise from 90A about a 1/3 of a mile away but it calms down after 7 or so. Currently no amenities but I am in the plans for some portable bathrooms. Please be prepared to cover all your bathroom and cooking needs. I do have some good clean well water from a faucet on the way into the campgrounds. Campfires are permitted. There is a convenience store (Diamond A) with clean bathrooms and a great bbq just 5 miles to the west on 90A and a Walmart and HEB 10 miles to the east on 90A. (Both Diamond A and Walmart sell fishing licenses if you need one. Dogs are allowed at sites 3 and 4 but not at 1 or 2 where my livestock guardian dogs have access to. No matter the size or temperament of your pets you are always expected to have them under your control at ALL times. I have very small livestock in the area frequently I am almost always on the property and try to have my phone with me while campers are on site, just let me know what you need and I will do what I can to accommodate you. I hosted a dog mom camping trip with a few of my friends and it was the perfect location. Secluded from the other campsites and right on the Guadalupe river. All of our dogs enjoyed the river and we enjoyed the spots under the shade! Truly an amazing place to spend time with friends.

What an amazing piece of property. It’s on a lazy bend of the Guadalupe and the owner lent us a John boat to take my son out fishing. There are numerous mature pecan trees and it’s just beautiful. It would be perfect were it not for the occasional road noise from Highway 90, and we were camping pretty far away. Not the owners fault obviously. He was a tremendous host; this place is a 9.5/10 with the only flaw keeping it from perfection being the occasional road noise.

This was an amazing place - secluded, peaceful, and beautiful. I fed the turtles and fish in the creek a few yards away. Skull Tree was magical. I had to leave early for a personal emergency, but I'll definitely return. Hope you get to enjoy it!

We had a great time! Lots of space at Coyote Corner for a large group and Skull Tree is a pretty cool more intimate spot with a lot of shade. There was a nice peaceful spot to sit overlooking the creek. Outhouse was solid and had a solid toilet to sit on, very clean. It was nice seeing the cows up close and our dogs had a blast out there. Alana was a five star host and went above and beyond to take care of our needs. We look forward to booking there again soon.

This is a wonderful place to camp. I went with some friends, and the site we were on (Pecan orchard river bottom) was perfect. It has a large, open, flat area with plenty of trees (and some great hammock spots) high enough above a calm river that there is no worry of the river rising, with good access to a sandy riverside. This spot would be great for families - I plan on trying to get my family down here soon. You could do quite a large group on this site, and still feel quite isolated, despite having quick access to the road, and a gas station / BBQ place only a few minutes away. The proprietor (Billy) was super easy to communicate with, very responsive, and kept us informed of everything we needed to know. I highly recommend this location, and this host!

Billy is a welcoming, warm host who sets your expectations upon arrival. His sheep and goats wandered through a few times and it was magical. We got to fish and relax and our spot was private. The trees on the property are beautiful and old and shady. Great weekend!

1 night at River Grove Campground

I picked Billy land for my first experience of camping and I’m 102% going back. Billy’s hospitality is great. While I was there I witnessed colorful dragonflies, armadillos, goats and the river flowing with fish. At area (4) River bottom there were kayaks and a canoe with life jackets so you can go on the water. The whole scenery was just amazing.

We had a wonderful experience. The grounds were gorgeous and the perfect disconnect we were looking for. We loved that the property had horse, cows and a lot of armadillo. It was a short walk to the river. I'd definitely stay here again.

Was a great experience at the skull tree. Loved how many butterflies were around and the creek was nearby. Such a secluded site which id exactly what I wanted. The outhouse was also very convenient. Only issue I had was some noisy neighbors at the coyote corner that were playing loud music until 2ish in the morning.

Billy’s property is beautiful! He was a great host, with great communication. The river was nice and cool and was only a few steps from my tent. I highly recommend this site! I’ll be making it a regular spot for my family.

Beautiful, secluded spot by the river. James is a great host and has an adorable dog. Will definitely get out there again for some much needed nature time.
