My time at the farm was very special. I came as a female solo tent camper who has never been to Waco, and I couldn't have picked a better place to stay. The farm itself is so beautiful. I felt so much peace on Regena's land, and I also felt very safe the whole time. It is a private getaway, but super close to anything you'd want to do. Close enough to run back to the campsite in the middle of the day easily if I had forgotten something. Regena as a host goes way above and beyond to make you comfortable and anticipated any needs I may had. She offered alternative accommodations when a heavy rainfall came through, and was very easy to get ahold of if I ever needed anything. She gave awesome recommendations for places to check out in Waco, one of them being one of the coolest coffee shops I've been to (you'll have to stay here and ask her to find out what it is :) Overall, I miss it there already and I hope to come back soon! Thanks for the southern hospitality Regena!

We went as a large group and Regina was an amazing host! We can't control the weather, but even with rain everything was great! And once the sunshine appeared it was even more amazing! She provided dry wood that we used and she kept the compost toilet and trash removed constantly! We will be going out to see her again!! Highly recommend this stay on your next trip out to Waco!

We had such a great time at the McDonald Farm!! The location was beautiful and there’s river access within walking distance. The hosts were extremely kind and welcoming to all of us. Additionally, the other campers were very nice as well. The showers were awesome and felt very clean. They provided delicious coffee that we had every morning and fire wood for our fire pit for no extra cost!! Very generous and sweet hosts. We’d absolutely visit again!

I loved camping with my family and friends at Bosque River Camp. Beautiful property and Joe could not be any more accommodating or friendly. Thanks again Joe for letting us stay here. It was peaceful and relaxing. Awesome place to explore, so many things to see. The river is beautiful and the wildlife was plentiful. Got to see and hear some wild birds to include turkeys. I highly recommend camping here. Definitely would come back. Bathroom is clean, and it's nice to have the luxury of a flushing toilet. Bring water and enjoy.

We had the best time at McDonald’s Farm! From splashing in the river to hanging out fireside this is the spot! Our kids loved seeing the pigs, chickens, and horse, as well as exploring the property. The hosts were amazing! They had a great spot for making coffee set up for us and always were quick to answer questions and assist our group. Thanks for a great weekend!

We had a great time camping at Regina's farm, it was peaceful & Regina was very sweet, friendly & accomodating. There was a chance of high wind & storm & she offered for us to leave our Travel trailer & come back for it if we needed to, luckily there was no need, we only got a little shower & all was fine, but it was super sweet of her to offer. She came to our site several times to remove trash & replace trash bag from the bin on our site & checked the compost toilet to clean it too, she even made several trips to take some of us to tour her property in her golf cart at different times, super friendly, I would definitely be back, thanks for hosting us Regina, and thank you for the sweet thank you note you left early in the morning in our truck, to find before we left at 7:30am, God bless you!

We stayed at the Mother Tree Site and had a great time! We were able to park right next to the site, had great access to the river front and the trees provide a great windbreak at the site. Overall it was a great trip, even with some rain!

I had such a great experience at this campsite! Wonderful secluded spot where you really feel connected with nature. Lots of land you can explore and my dog was able to roam around freely. Host was very nice and responsive and even helped fill up our air mattress when our air pump wasn’t working. Would recommend to anyone looking for a nice camping spot near the water!

Weekend Trip to Jody’s Hideaway

Loved the space and ability to explore and camp where we wanted to! There are a variety of areas with fire rings and clearings to set up camp but even in my Prius I had no issues accessing any part of the property. The cedar outhouse is phenomenal! Seriously it’s the nicest outhouse I’ve ever had the please of using lol. The available map was helpful to orient myself when I arrived. We enjoyed seeing lots of wildlife (deer, hogs, birds, etc) horses were in the front pasture as we drove in. My dogs loved exploring the property! There were a couple other campers we saw in the distance but there was more than enough room to spread out and have privacy. It was a great place to stop on our roadtrip.

GoldenHour L&P Land

Enjoy a weekend getaway on this 7.6 acres primitive land. Sunsets and star gazing are amazing here. Bring your tent and setup in 2 different camp areas or wherever you prefer. Fires are permitted in the fire pits that are provided in two different areas of the land. Our land is divided in the middle where you are able to park. Bikes and atvs are welcome, there are trails for walking, a small hill by the pond that you can easily hike and open areas where atvs can fit all around the perimeter of the property. If an area isn’t open don’t attempt to use for your own safety. Please be aware that there are animals that visit us: Deer, rabbits and spiders, snakes etc. Firewood is provided and you can also gathered firewood from branches or trees that are laying around the property. Please do not cut or harm any trees. Because this is a primitive camping site there is no water or electricity. Make sure you bring your own drinking water or water for any personal use. Compost Bathrooms will have some water for showering but if this runs out you will have to provide your own, these bathrooms are covered with 3 walls but are pretty private a few feet away from the campsites. Instructions on how to use and take care of the composting toilettes will be posted. There is a pond towards the back of the property. This is collected rain water and it just sits there, there are small fishes in there but we suggest no swimming as it can have bacteria. We usually walk around it with rain boots. By the pond you will be able to see lots of beautiful birds while relaxing in the various hammocks provided as well as swings. Trash bins are not provided so please carry out your trash. Please help us to maintain our land clean. Since there is so many acres we are still in the process of cleaning out what the other owners left behind. We do have neighbors so please be mindful. Cows also roam around the property but are separated by a fence but you do hear them once in a while and sometimes you can see them up close. These cows do not belong to us so please let them be. A train passes near by too so keep that in mind. Any other questions you may have feel free to message me and I will respond as soon as possible. There is phone reception in this area so you don’t have to worry about losing cellphone service. One more thing, please enjoy our land and just have fun! We hope you book it soon :)

We are now offering daytime river access to the San Gabriel River! This is a secluded, hike to spot for fishing, swimming, grilling, picnicing, and hanging out during the day. Access to our river site is included in your camping fee, or we offer day passes for non-campers! There is no overnight camping on the San Gabriel River. All camping is at the main farm area and campers are able to come and go from the river site as they please. McDonald Farm sits in the historic farming community of Jonah, TX between Georgetown and Taylor on scenic Highway 29. McDonald Farm is named after the patriarch of the family, J.H. Mcdonald, who first acquired the property in 1911. The farm sits on the bank of the San Gabriel River and features a lush canopy of huge pecan trees, sprawling corn fields, prairie, and forest. We are a working farm! We primarily grow corn, but we also have livestock on the property. During daytime hours, you will likely see a variety of farm chores being completed. We are only 7 miles from the Georgetown, TX historical district and square. Some say it’s the most beautiful town square in all of Texas. Enjoy shopping, dining, and festivals! We are 13 miles from Granger Lake, which offers boating and bass fishing opportunities. Blue Lagoon Pond & Cabin

This cedar cabin was built in the late 1950's and was the first building in Birch Creek Subdivision and was used as the real estate office when selling land for Subdivision. Joy Moore bought this fixer-upper in 1986 when the oilfield went under, at a youngster in her early twenties and has owned ever since. Lake Somerville is known for the best fishing lake in Texas. Deer run plentiful on the property and will come up close and personal when fed corn. So, stop and pick up a sack or two of deer corn before arrival. The closest city is about a 20 minute drive to Somerville so make sure to have everything you need before camping. Learn more about this land: Pitch your tent or stay in cozy cabin with accommodations like home, including wifi and tv. Private pond with firepit near Lake Somerville.
