Downtown Weatherford is full of antique stores and once a month we have First Monday Trade Days. Texas Motor Speedway (NASCAR) is not far. We are a small park. The lots are very large at 100' X 50'. Our spaces are all covered, a blessing in the hot Texas summertime. We are across the street from the Brazos River. Campers do have river access with a dock for fishing a launching kayaks. . Sundancer On The Brazos sits on Comanche Creek in an isolated forest on a 350 acre working cattle ranch with a quarter mile of river frontage! The Comanche were quite active up and down this part of the Brazos when the earliest settlers arrived around 1850, until the Comanches' eventual conquest by the Texas Rangers and their Colt pistols around 1870; we have found lots of flint and some arrowheads on high places here. Going further back in history, the Fuller's Folly River Ranch has an abundance of petrified wood, they say that if you have fossilized sea shells you were under water, but if you have petrified wood you had land creatures. Hunting for petrified wood is a fun adventure here. (But leave them for the next person to discover!) Weatherford is only 10 minutes away and Granbury is only 20 minutes away; both have great restaurants. And this close to Fort Worth (30min), you could actually commute and have a ranch to come home to at night--note the lower pricing mid week.

This was such an amazing property. We loved the horses and the spot we set up camp was beautiful as well. We did have a little trouble finding where we were supposed to set up but the host was very helpful/friendly and got us there with no trouble.

Weekend Trip to Fuller's Folly River Ranch

Everything was perfect! Clear directions, simple check-in, beautiful location, so many activities within walking distance. We stayed at the Magical Treehouse for the 4th of July and had a great time hiking, swimming at the river, and grilling on the covered patio.

1 night at Oak Creek RV Park

A quiet park with lots of shade trees, despite being close to the highway. It’s clear many campers are residents and have made their spots their charming homes. Our spot was level with easy hookups. After many hours on the road we hoped to get food delivered but no such luck. Registration desk was close by as was an accessible dumpster. I would recommend Oak Creek RV.

Weekend Trip to Brazos RV Resort

I booked fairly last minute and the accommodations were friendly with alternative site options available. The sites have electric, water and river access. Great dock for fishing. Fire pit for campfires and even extra wood if needed.

1 night at Broken Bow Ranch

Great place to camp to enjoy the feel of farm life and see animals. Friendly dogs around. Due to recent rain it was too soft for us to park our RV near the pond but we still had an awesome view of it. Close to restaurants and stores but still out in the country! I’d recommend this to anyone looking to get away from the city for a few nights! Nothing fancy; just as advertised a working horse ranch.
