Please consider, Clayton Geneva is a primitive campground, gravel drives and left as natural as possible. This is not a sculpted campsite or a concrete campground. The primitive area is as such, gravel, grass, sand terrain accessible by a one lane gravel drive that leads over the hill and around the cliff to the riverbank. This drive is absolutely passable however is left bumpy to keep traffic at a safe speed as pedestrians also walk the drive. It is passable by any vehicle as long as the vehicle is not overloaded beyond its ability and/or has an extremely low profile. Any area that is not an actual campsite is left to nature, not manicured, trimmed or sculpted. As you’ll find all the sites are clear please don’t expect micromanaging of wild growth of our native plants in areas around the sites as we reserve those areas for the wildlife to enjoy. Please consider all the above mentioned details, primitive campsites are not for everyone and that’s ok.

Usually if someone comes down the road it is the Post Man, UPS or Fed EX except for the 4th of July when our boat dock is often a prime location for a big fireworks display. Usually can't tell a Saturday from a Tuesday most of the time as 80-90% of houses in the area are second vacation homes and unoccupied most of the year. Only 2 houses are located past ours before the cul-de-sac. We are separated by trees and woods on both sides. Private yet very Conveniently located. Getting around Plenty of Convenient Parking located across the concrete driveway. A Large Heavy Duty Wagon is Available for loading and unloading. Plenty of Great biking and hiking spaces are all around. Close to Knoxville, Cumberland Gap, The Smokey Mountains, Pigeon Forge, Gatlinburg, Cherokee NC and plenty of options should you choose to leave the lake for a while or your against fishing in the rain. We provide a quite peaceful stay, with 50-30-20 amp electrical and water with sewer hook-up. Our Little House by the Pond is a one Bedroom King Size bed, one bath, kitchenette with full size refrigerator and living room. Bedroom and Living room furnished with Smart TV, kitchen is supplied with all utensils and bathroom with towels only. The Terry Farm is formally a running Dairy Farm est. in 1947 until 2001 now the Love and Peace put into the land still applies and we share it with you, come and enjoy a peaceful stay with us. All ponds are off limits and no fishing or boating, swimming, ice tubing or ice skating is allowed. The pond is for viewing and wildlife watching only. if you see deer on the property they are off limits as well. No fishing or hunting allowed on the property. Waivers must be signed before all guest arrive.

This was perfect. You can walk to the water and fish, the portapotty is close to all the camp sites and she gets them cleaned weekly. We drove our truck to the site and the person next to us had an SUV and we had zero trouble getting to site. Banks end looked like the best site since it has the whole end to itself and closest to the water. Sites are well separated and a good space for group camping! Lots of add ons offered by the host from eggs to fishing bait and she delivers your firewood. Close to Cumberland falls and was just an hour and a half drive from Knoxville for a weekend get away!

The location is very convenient to the National Park, the main drag of Pigeon Forge, and Gatlinburg. We spent 3 nights here with two full days devoted to exploring the park. We enjoyed the full hookups for our Class B van and took advantage of the shower rooms. It is compact but very quiet - perhaps surprisingly so. Great value overall.

We had full hook-ups but used the shower and bathrooms (nice, clean with lots of hot water). Close to town -- realized over all that this area is too Disneyish for us, but overall a solid place to stay. The little glamping units looked totally adorable and fun!

Sycamore Cove is a beautiful retreat on the Cumberland River, but still very easily accessible without 4-wheel drive long as you have a lick of sense. I highly recommend staying here, and I highly recommend the experiences that are offered, as well as those farm fresh eggs...she has a genuine love for her animals and takes such good care of them ~ I will definitely be back, and in the meantime, I will be singing her praises 🏕 5 out of 5 stars 🌟

5 nights at Patrick's Point River Camp

We had a very relaxing and peaceful five-night stay at Patrick’s Point River Camp in our 21’ camper. This is a huge property on the Cumberland River in southeast Kentucky. They offer everything from remote primitive tent camping to FHU RV sites. Our Premium RV site on the river could benefit from more gravel but was located under shade mere steps away from the shower house. Access to the campground could be challenging for an inexperienced driver pulling a car behind an 45’ Class A, but the road in was fine for us pulling a small trailer. Bathroom and shower facilities were clean and had good hot water and water pressure. The real reason we’ll be back was the hosts Patrick and Angelica. We have never been made to feel so welcomed in the five years we’ve been camping. They have mastered the perfect blend of providing excellent service and giving their guests space. Eager to offer recommendations for adventures or eating establishments, we were treated like family. We highly recommend Patrick’s Point River Camp!

Anderson County

Campgrounds are scattered along the shoreline beside Norris Dam, which sits at the southwestern edge of the lake in Anderson County. Small towns with camping, glamping, and RV sites include Rocky Top, Norris, and Andersonville.

Norris Dam State Park

The 19 cabins built by the Civilian Conservation Corps at Norris Dam State Park merge Depression-era history with modern amenities. The sprawling lakefront park also has two campgrounds, both with tent and RV campsites. A marina and a Southern Appalachia museum are bonus highlights.

Big Ridge State Park
