We are the coolest little campground in WNC. 3feather Sanctuary is tucked away in the amazing countryside of the Appalachian mountains, surrounded by beautiful, stately trees and a creek meanders through the property. We have all the amenities and yet retain the rustic natural charm of the majestic mountain town. We have an amazing bathhouse(commonground) with the best shower, communal fridge & honor system w/d, tucked beside a convenient outdoor covered kitchen, we have fiber WiFi, & swimming hole. This is the perfect peaceful getaway near great outdoor activities and some of the best that North Carolina has to offer! 3Feather Sanctuary is surrounded by beautiful, stately trees and has a creek meandering through it. The closest town is Hot Springs, which is 20 minutes away and the Hot Springs are a definite must-see if that peaks your interest! The town itself is also pretty cool. There are some good shops, restaurants & our favorite hardware store!! Downtown Marshall is also close, about 25 minutes and has a lot to offer! Gr8 restaurants, thrifting and cute shops along the river. Our property is about an hour away from the Blue Ridge Parkway, and the adorable city of Asheville - which makes for a fantastic day trip with delicious restaurants, breweries, cool shops, and more! The Great Smokey Mountains and Deep Creek are about 1.5 hours away from the campsite. The Appalachian Trail is closeby and there are countless opportunities for stunning hikes. There's also kayaking, tubing, white water rafting opportunities as well as zip lining and horseback riding. There is something for everyone to enjoy and we can't wait to share it with you! Full disclosure: We have a camera pointed at the entrance and one at the bath house door, which we can move around to make sure that when people check in they make it to the right spot since I manage remotely part of the year. We have regular yard maintenance, however, we are Country natural landscape, not parking lot type campground, so the grass is slightly higher in some small areas but truly those things are part of a sustainable and uniquely beautiful camping experience!

Only 1 site on private gravel road on mountainside acreage with no thru traffic; you will unlock/lock gate for entry/exit to your private mountain-side wooded retreat with view of valley through the trees and mountains in the distance. This RV site is on the mountain side not in the valley or mountain top. Access road is blacktop to the barrier gate and then 2 minute drive on a 1 lane gravel road to the campsite (see pictures). There is a 50 foot circular area to turn around so if you are too big to turn around in 50 foot area--you are too big for this site. There is wildlife in the area so be sure food and trash are inside your RV or vehicle. Do not leave food or trash out as that will attract wildlife. Trash should be deposited in the garbage cans in the metal cage by the barrier gate. SO OBVIOUSLY - AS ALWAYS/EVERYWHERE -- DO NOT FEED WILDLIFE; AS THAT CAN ENDANGER YOU AND FUTURE CAMPERS. These are wild animals even if they are within the city limits of Pigeon Forge.

Our property is about an hour away from the Blue Ridge Parkway, and the adorable city of Asheville - which makes for a fantastic day trip with delicious restaurants, breweries, cool shops, and more! The Great Smokey Mountains and Deep Creek are about 1.5 hours away from the campsite. The Appalachian Trail is closeby and there are countless opportunities for stunning hikes. There's also kayaking, tubing, white water rafting opportunities as well as zip lining and horseback riding. There is something for everyone to enjoy and we can't wait to share it with you! Full disclosure: We have a camera pointed at the entrance and one at the bath house door, which we can move around to make sure that when people check in they make it to the right spot since I manage remotely part of the year. We have regular yard maintenance, however, we are Country natural landscape, not parking lot type campground, so the grass is slightly higher in some small areas but truly those things are part of a sustainable and uniquely beautiful camping experience!

Only 1 site on private gravel road on mountainside acreage with no thru traffic; you will unlock/lock gate for entry/exit to your private mountain-side wooded retreat with view of valley through the trees and mountains in the distance. This RV site is on the mountain side not in the valley or mountain top. Access road is blacktop to the barrier gate and then 2 minute drive on a 1 lane gravel road to the campsite (see pictures). There is a 50 foot circular area to turn around so if you are too big to turn around in 50 foot area--you are too big for this site. There is wildlife in the area so be sure food and trash are inside your RV or vehicle. Do not leave food or trash out as that will attract wildlife. Trash should be deposited in the garbage cans in the metal cage by the barrier gate. SO OBVIOUSLY - AS ALWAYS/EVERYWHERE -- DO NOT FEED WILDLIFE; AS THAT CAN ENDANGER YOU AND FUTURE CAMPERS. Our stay at John's place at Sunset ridge was wonderful. Very private and quiet with a beautiful view of the mountains and, yes, sunsets. Easy in and out with room for two campers if you want to have a friend join. We highly recommend this site. When I asked for local suggestions they shared a great list. Our only regret is that we could not stay longer.

My wife and I stayed in the yurt to get away from the noise and celebrate my birthday and the Heart Center truly delivered. The land and energy this place holds is incredible. Liz was a fantastic host and both my wife and I were able to have a reiki session with her while staying here. To stay it was transformational for both of us would be an understatement. Both of us learned so much from our sessions and left the Heart Center feeling lighter both physically & emotionally. We will definitely visit again in the future and Liz - thank you for what you do and putting together such an amazing place of healing and warmth admist the natural beauty of the area. The host was very cordial and kind. She has a great deal of property there and had several other people come during the weekend however we were able to pull our travel trailer in a fenced area which allowed us to let our dog run free, which we greatly appreciated. This was the first hip camp we had ever stayed in and it worked out really well for us because it gave us the opportunity to be right in the middle of the things we wanted to see and do like Cade‘s Cove Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg. She was actually hosting I believe a community scavenger hunt on our property and the other campers participated and had a good time with it. My husband and I just stayed within our little area because we’ve just recently gotten married and wanted our time.

We had a wonderful time staying at John's campsite and thoroughly enjoyed the absolutely incredible views!! We have a 45ft Class A Motorhome pulling a 25ft flatbed trailer carrying our full-size Titan truck and had plenty of room. We were a little concerned upon reading some people's reviews about the drive to the campsite so we unhooked the trailer from the rv prior to driving up the mountain and pulled the trailer with the truck to which we had no problems at all getting to the campsite. The campsite has 50 amp hookup, water, sewer and excellent wifi. Did I mention the impeccable views 😀 We surely hope to stay here again the next time we travel to this area. Thank- you for sharing your beautiful piece of paradise John. PS: I miss that Rocky of yours, he is such well behaved, sweet handsome boy!

This was a good spot for car camping with our kids — lots of room for them to run around and try "fishing" in the pond, nice level spots for our tents, and the convenience of hot running water at the shower house for washing up dishes and hands. We loved camping here. We were able to get out class c camper and our overland camp/ truck together to make for a nice weekend get away. We will definitely be recommending this to anyone we know who likes tent camping, overland, or even travel- trailer camper. I liked the location & the Fireside site. The instructions for parking the trailer tongue to the back of the site didn't work for us as the width of the spot makes it scary to try to drive the tow vehicle around the trailer to get out. tongue in first also put hook ups on the wrong side of the trailer. Another couple of feet to accomplish the drive around & out would help. That said I enjoyed the wilderness of the area. We made it work, it was fine.

3 nights at Your Private Mountainside Retreat
I enjoyed my 3 night stay at this primitive campsite. I arrived late in the evening and GPS took me almost to the right road to turn on. Unfortunately for me, there is another road 75 ft before the actual road where one is to turn. I mistakenly took that road and ended up having to do a near impossible turn around given my truck length and short 12 foot trailer) near some dumpsters and the exit from another campground/trailer park. The host's directions are very good, it was just darkness and unfamiliar area that led to my challenge. The entrance gate was at the end of a condo complex and kind of looks like a dead end. I was relieved the gate code worked and I was quickly through. I proceeded down the single lane gravel path til it opened in to a small clearing sufficient to turn around and park in. I actually parked on the road as Brian said I would be the only traffic. The site was peaceful, quite and felt surrounded by woods. There's a little bit of mountain view in one direction. Signage both by the condo garbage dumpster you pass on the way and at the actual campsite remind you you are in bear country and need to take appropriate precautions. I didn't see any bears, but did see plenty of deer scat and one pile my imagination said could be from a bear. I was happy to have my more secure camper to stay in. If tent camping, I would recommend familiarizing oneself with how to do that safely. It was a great home base for me during my short visit. I definitely will go back.

Tmobile full signal. Information on getting there. We pulled a 36 ft tag along trailer. It's very narrow one lane road last 1/4 mile. But no traffic hardly.

I thoroughly enjoyed camping at Carrie's. The campsite is gorgeous and peaceful--the perfect location for relaxation and soaking in some nature. We set up our hammock for some r and r, explored a nearby creek, and hiked the trail on the property. Carrie is so friendly and helpful. She provided water and there are potable hands pumps. There's an outhouse and you can purchase firewood, too. This experience exceeded our expectations. We will definitely be coming back. Thank you, Carrie!
